“Beyond the Boundaries” Chapter 84

Chapter 84: Does the Crown Prince Change Sheets Himself?

What does that mean? Does he know she’s lying?

Shuangxu didn’t have the energy to think about it, her entire being was caught in a swirling sea of confusion.

The summer night was bustling and vibrant, the floor-to-ceiling glass separating the indoor heat from the romantic atmosphere.

Afterward, Shuangxu felt like she’d been pulled out of water, completely drained of energy.

He He Tingzhou brushed aside her sweat-dampened hair, kissing the delicate skin of her neck with lingering desire.

Shuangxu rested for a moment, regaining her strength. The awkwardness of their naked intimacy gradually returned, and she slowly crawled out of bed, her back turned to him, picking up her clothes and hastily putting them on.

“Where are you going?” He Tingzhou watched her with his head propped up.

“To take a shower.” Her voice was like it had been soaked in water, a different texture than usual, making her sound particularly vulnerable.

“Should I carry you?”

“No.” Shuangxu was afraid he would actually carry her, so she quickly walked into the bathroom and closed the door.

Immersing herself in the bathtub, her body finally relaxed. She didn’t know if it was the hot water, but the blush on her cheeks wouldn’t go away.

She lingered in the tub for a long time, digesting the events of the evening. When she came out, the dirty sheets on the bed had been changed.

Does the Crown Prince change sheets himself?

He wasn’t in the bedroom, and Shuangxu didn’t bother to check where he’d gone. She had used up too much energy today, her fingers were even too weak to hold anything. She collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Half-awake, she felt someone touching her.

Like playing with playdough, they would knead her cheeks, pinch her earlobes, and then something would tickle her nose.

She was so tired, she tried to dodge it in vain, and then fell asleep again.

This sleep was very sound, she didn’t even dream. The weekend alarm didn’t go off, and when she opened her eyes, the wall clock showed it was already past nine o’clock.

Her body was weak, her waist ached terribly. She moved, only to realize something heavy was pressing on her.

It was He Tingzhou’s arm.

He was holding her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder, her spine pressed against his chest without a gap.

This overly intimate position made her uncomfortable. She gently lifted He Tingzhou’s arm, trying to get out of his embrace.

The arm suddenly became conscious, wrapping around her waist again.

“Awake?” He Tingzhou’s husky voice fell on her ear.

Shuangxu hummed in response, and almost at the same time, she felt something behind her pressing against her.

Certain images popped up in her newly awakened mind like startup ads. She shifted her attention to the gap in the curtains.

He Tingzhou’s body had woken up, but his mind hadn’t. He looked lazy and asked her, “Did you sleep well?”

“Okay.” Shuangxu said.

He snorted: “You slept like a dead pig, and it’s okay?”

“……You’re the pig.”

What kind of person is he, scolding her first thing in the morning.

He Tingzhou didn’t get angry at all, he readily accepted: “Then let’s be pigs together.”

The phone on the table rang. He picked it up and shoved it into Shuangxu’s hand, putting his chin back on her shoulder: “Answer it.”

Shuangxu suspected he wasn’t fully awake: “This is your phone.”

He knew, but he was shamelessly lazy: “Sleepy. Answer it for me.”

Seeing that it was Xu Zhen calling, Shuangxu answered: “Assistant Xu.”

“Ms. Song.” Xu Zhen’s mental fortitude was incredibly strong, he didn’t show any surprise at hearing her voice. “I’m here to deliver clothes to Mr. He, I’m at your door.”

Shuangxu took the opportunity to push He Tingzhou’s arm away, getting out of his embrace and getting out of bed.

The curtains blocked out the light, the room was dim, the light-colored sheets draped over He Tingzhou’s narrow and tight waist.

She left, and his right hand lazily fell onto the sheets, his knuckles were distinct, the raised blue veins extended upwards to his forearm. Shuangxu suddenly remembered the fierce power of that hand when it held her leg last night.

Her head buzzed with heat, and she left the room as quickly as she could.

Opening the door, Xu Zhen was holding a takeout box from a five-star hotel in one hand and a neatly ironed suit in the other, smiling and greeting her: “Good morning.”

“He’s inside, go call him yourself.” Shuangxu said.

Even if Xu Zhen had eight hundred guts, he wouldn’t dare.

“Mr. He should still need to catch up on his sleep, this bag has pajamas.” Xu Zhen sent the things in, placed them properly, didn’t look at anything, didn’t stay for a second. “Ms. Song has anything to command me.”

“Thank you.” Shuangxu said.

Running to a woman’s house early in the morning to deliver clothes and breakfast for his boss, as long as Xu Zhen wasn’t an idiot, he would know what they had done last night.

Of course, he wasn’t an idiot, he was even overly smart.

However, he should have done this kind of thing a lot, so he was so skilled.

She took He Tingzhou’s clothes into the bedroom and found that the curtains were already open.

He Tingzhou was half-leaning against the headboard, his unkempt black hair, which he had just woken up from, was lazily resting on his brow bone, his face was sleepy.

He took a cigarette from the cigarette box, bit it with his teeth, flicked the lighter lid up, the flame had already been lit, and then suddenly closed it, took the cigarette out of his mouth and threw it on the cabinet next to him.

Shuangxu was about to remind him, don’t smoke in her bedroom, then swallowed the words back.

She didn’t go in, she put the suit and pajamas on the cabinet: “Your clothes.”

He Tingzhou glanced at the cabinet five meters away from him, his eyelids lifted slightly: “Even the hands of a gibbon aren’t that long. Besides, I’m human.”

“Can’t you come down and get them?”

“Can’t you come over and deliver them?” He asked back. “You ate me dry on the bed, but now you’re not familiar anymore?”

“…” Shuangxu just wanted to act like a maid and take the clothes to him, deliver them to the bedside. “Get dressed and come out to eat, Master.”

Shuangxu rarely cooked at home. She had no interest in cooking, nor the skills to do so. She usually just toasted some bread and made a cup of coffee to get by.

Thankfully, Xu Zhen had brought breakfast over. Otherwise, she really worried that the Crown Prince, in his golden and precious status, would order her to cook.

She set the breakfast Xu Zhen brought on the table. When He Tingzhou came out, he was wearing pajamas.

The silk material was delicate, the homey feel of the pajamas softening his sharp aura. He walked to the dining table with long legs and a lazy gait.

He didn’t seem to have much of an appetite. He didn’t eat much of his breakfast, spending most of his time leaning back in the chair opposite her, watching Shuangxu eat.

When she finished, he said, “Are you full? If you’re full, come sleep with me for a while.”

“You can sleep by yourself,” Shuangxu said. “I have to go back and help my godmother prepare for the banquet tonight.”

Fu Yun’s message came in at that moment, asking if she was awake and sending a driver to pick her up.

Shuangxu replied to the message and looked up to see He Tingzhou’s expression a little listless.

“My godfather is returning to his post next week, and we’re going to celebrate. Didn’t you also receive an invitation?” She thought He Tingzhou was unhappy because she wasn’t listening to him, so she explained.

“Go ahead,” He Tingzhou said, getting up and going back to the bedroom.
