Although Chi Yu had promised to explain the structure of the pottery kiln in detail, he still made sure to clarify in advance. “You’ll see for yourselves when you get there. Our pottery kiln is built according to the mountain, so it may not be suitable for your tribe. But no worries, if you have any problems later, we’ll try to help as much as we can.”
Representing the Rainbow Sun Tribe, he had already shown the greatest sincerity. In return, the South Mountain Tribe also expressed their sincerity by promising to choose the best teacher and fully teach the weaving methods they use to the people of the Rainbow Sun Tribe.
However, their weaving methods were not without flaws. Wen Ze had mentioned that there was still much room for improvement, and he advised Chi Yu’s tribe not to set their expectations too high.
Both tribes didn’t make any grand promises, but deep down, they had high hopes for this exchange and wanted it to happen as soon as possible.
So, they arranged to meet in the afternoon at the Rainbow Sun Tribe. Chi Yu, along with his group, left happily ahead of time.
Such a great opportunity, of course, was not something Wen Ze could turn down.
Not to mention the construction of the pottery kiln, the terrain and species of each tribe were not exactly the same. Wen Ze was very excited to visit other tribes and gain more experience, hoping that he might make some unique discoveries.
In the end, the people from the South Mountain Tribe who were going to the Rainbow Sun Tribe were Yi Yan, Wu Ye, Sang Hui, Ji Sha, Zhuo Mu, and Wen Ze.
Wen Ze was going to stay a few days at the Rainbow Sun Tribe, so he packed his things quickly and called Yin He over to give him some detailed instructions.
“Make sure to eat the food that will spoil first. If the food is not enough, go to Bai Xia to ask for more. The tribe leader has already talked to him about it.”
“Help me water those few thorny fruit trees every day. As for the patch of scallions I planted, don’t worry about them. They seem strong, and all of them have survived.”
“The most important thing is to take care of the two cows. The big one needs to be milked twice a day, morning and night. Here, this is the pot I found,” Wen Ze pointed to a few pots beside him. “If you want milk, just cook it yourself, no need to save.”
“Also, shovel the manure and pile it in the spot I’ve marked.”
Yin He nodded obediently, feeling extremely excited about personally milking the cows, and even started planning which friends to invite for help.
However, what he envied more was that Wen Ze could go to the Rainbow Sun Tribe.
“Brother, I’ve remembered everything. I’ll take good care of the house. Oh, I wonder what new and interesting things the Rainbow Sun Tribe has. When you come back, tell me about it.”
Wen Ze smiled and said, “I’m heading out to take care of some important things, so I don’t think I’ll have much chance to go out and have fun.”
Yin He sighed, “It’d be nice if you could take me next time. I’ve never been to any other tribes.”
Wen Ze reached out and patted his head gently, “There will be a chance.”
At that moment, Zhuo Mu walked into the cave and met Wen Ze’s clear, dark eyes.
“All done?”
Wen Ze nodded, “Mm, let’s go.”
Zhuo Mu changed into a pure white giant python outside the cave. Wen Ze skillfully climbed onto his back, and they headed toward the tribe’s altar square.
Wu Ye and the others had already arrived, and many people from the tribe came to see them off.
They had already heard about the exchange between the two tribes, and everyone was filled with excitement, waving their hands to greet Wen Ze and the others.
“You’re here! Let’s go quickly!”
“Haha, Bai Xia, you’re in such a hurry!”
“How can I not be? Our tribe finally doesn’t have to spend so many supplies to exchange pottery with the Rainbow Sun Tribe. We’ll have our own pottery kiln now!”
“Don’t even mention it, Bai Xia, I’m really looking forward to it!”
“Wen Ze, this is all thanks to you! When you get to the Rainbow Sun Tribe, show them your weaving method and let them see how it’s done!”
“Right, hahaha! They might end up fighting tooth and nail just for the first chance to learn!”
“I really want to see that scene!”
Everyone exaggeratedly imagined it, and their proud expressions made Wen Ze feel warm inside.
No one had any complaints about him going to the Rainbow Sun Tribe with the tribe leader and others.
In fact, even though there were many half-beastmen in the South Mountain Tribe who were better at weaving than Wen Ze, they naturally believed that it should be Wen Ze, the “most skilled,” who should go.
In any case, the South Mountain Tribe was really proud of having someone like Wen Ze!
Some of Wen Ze’s closer friends even said, “Don’t worry, we’ll take care of things at home for you.”
Wen Ze was deeply moved and thanked everyone, silently making a promise to study hard and not disappoint their expectations.
So, by noon, with everyone watching them off, the group set off toward the Rainbow Sun Tribe.
Except for Sang Hui and Wen Ze, everyone else had changed into their beast forms.
Three giant bears, each nearly ten meters tall, and a pure white giant python, more than fifty meters long, carrying two half-beastmen, moved swiftly across mountains and rivers without any delay.
The summer sun was intense, and Wen Ze had specifically worn a straw hat.
However, since Zhuo Mu was moving quickly, there was a constant wind, so it didn’t feel that hot.
When they reached the edge of the Rainbow Sun Tribe’s territory, Wen Ze glanced up at the sun, which was now slightly to the west, and estimated that it had been about two hours since they had set out.
The patrolling beastmen from the Rainbow Sun Tribe soon spotted them, quickly realizing why they were here, and enthusiastically led them into the tribe.
These patrols were all canine beastmen, including giant wolves, giant jackals, and large foxes.
As they ran, the long fur on their bodies rippled in waves, shimmering under the sunlight, making them look like they were glowing. They appeared so smooth and soft, you just wanted to reach out and touch them.
Wen Ze sat cross-legged on Zhuo Mu’s back, his fingers moving slightly as he was about to take a closer look.
Zhuo Mu suddenly sped up, quickly distancing himself from the other beastmen.
Wu Ye’s beast form was panting behind, stunned, and said, “We’ve been running all this way without stopping, and you still have the energy to run this fast.”
Ji Sha, carrying Sang Hui on his back, nodded enviously.
The people from the Rainbow Sun Tribe said, “As expected of a warrior from the South Mountain Tribe, such incredible stamina.”
But in reality, it fired them up, and they picked up the pace too.
The sight of several canine beastmen running in the sunlight became even more agile.
Wu Ye and Ji Sha didn’t want to fall behind, so they charged ahead without hesitation.
The one struggling the most was Yi Yan. At over a hundred years old, how could his stamina match that of a young beastman?
Breathing heavily, he shouted, “Slow down! Do you think this old body can keep up with all of you?!”
In response, there were a few excited wolf howls and a guilty bear growl.
Wen Ze, at the front, had no idea how things had developed this way. He was holding back his laughter so hard that his shoulders shook.
An hour had passed since they left the edge of the Rainbow Sun Tribe, and now they had arrived at their destination.
The sun had warmed the land, and a few people, led by Chi Yu, were waiting in the open area.
The Beastmen from the South Mountain Tribe slowed down, changed into their human form, and walked toward Chi Yu and the others, along with the half-beastmen.
Chi Yu waved with a smile, “Welcome! You’ve made it here quickly. I’m sure you’re thirsty, so go ahead and have some water.”
A few people stepped forward and handed each of them a jar made of red clay, filled with clear spring water.
Wen Ze drank several large gulps of water and wiped the sweat from his forehead as he looked around at the Rainbow Sun Tribe.
Their tribe was huge, and looking around, Wen Ze could see not only countless caves but also several treehouses and simple grass shelters.
The scent carried by the wind was also very mixed, not just from canine beastmen.
After all, the Rainbow Sun Tribe was the largest and most prosperous tribe in the area, so there’s definitely beastmen from other places.
After drinking the water, both sides exchanged a few pleasantries. Then Chi Yu’s gaze landed on Wen Ze’s face, and he broke into a bright smile.
“Wen Ze, we meet again. This time, are you here to teach us the weaving method?”
His question caught Wen Ze a bit off guard, but he smiled and responded, “Yes, Leader Chi Yu.”
Chi Yu’s smile grew even brighter, “Good, good. Then make yourself at home in our tribe. We’ll make sure you have a place to stay and food to eat.”
As he spoke, he reached out and patted Wen Ze’s shoulder, showing that he didn’t consider him an outsider.
Zhuo Mu glanced at him with his red eyes and said calmly, “I’ll stay in the Rainbow Sun Tribe with him and come back after hunting.”
Wen Ze looked at Zhuo Mu in surprise. He was actually a bit worried about being left alone, so Zhuo Mu staying made him feel reassured.
Chi Yu withdrew his hand and laughed. “Our tribe is so large, with so many people. Are you really worried about Wen Ze not having enough to eat?”
Sang Hui grinned and said, “Of course not. But Wen Ze is from our South Mountain Tribe, so it’s good for Zhuo Mu to stay here, at least someone will look out for him. Once Wen Ze teaches the weaving method, the two of them can return together.”
He emphasized the words “South Mountain Tribe” and “return.”
Zhuo Mu added, “I’ll stay here and pay you for the supplies.”
Chi Yu narrowed his fox-like eyes and said with a half-smile, “No need to be polite.”
He turned to Yi Yan and asked, “Leader Yi Yan, do you want to rest a bit more or head to the kiln now?”
Yi Yan replied, “Let’s go now, the sun will set soon.”
Chi Yu said cheerfully, “Alright, let’s go.”
So, the people from the South Mountain Tribe didn’t go deep into the tribe. They changed into their beast forms and ran after Chi Yu and a few other beastmen.
A few of the half-beastmen in charge climbed onto the beastmen’s backs.
This time, they ran for only about ten minutes before stopping.
Wen Ze slid off Zhuo Mu’s back and looked toward the small hill ahead. The vegetation had been cleared, and the soil looked pale yellow.
Directly ahead was a cave more than five meters high, and it was pitch black inside.
A cool evening breeze blew, carrying the faint smell of burning wood.
Wen Ze’s heart was racing.
“Is this the kiln?” Wu Ye asked.
“Yes, it is. Light the torches, and I’ll take you inside,” Chi Yu replied.
Everyone quickly lit their torches and followed Chi Yu into the cave.
After walking along a tunnel-like path that was neither too long nor too short, with a few turns along the way, Wen Ze noticed a change in the texture beneath his feet. He looked down.
Although the area had been cleared, the wood ash that had accumulated over the years had seeped into the rocky ground, giving the walls a black sheen.
Chi Yu gave Wen Ze an approving glance and said, “This is where we begin stacking the wood, and the fire will burn all the way to the kiln ahead.”
He then raised his torch higher. “The smoke vents are located at these places.”
Wen Ze listened carefully while mentally calculating how much firewood would be used for one firing. The alarming number he came up with made him widen his eyes in shock.
The others were closely following Chi Yu, but Zhuo Mu moved nearer to Wen Ze and asked, “What’s wrong?”
