1970s Military Marriage, Doomsday Lazy Fish Sweetly Spoiled and Wins Chapter 1

Chapter 1

“It hurts!”

Ji Wanqing felt as if she had been run over by a car, forced to wake from her unconsciousness.  She looked around at the damp and cramped environment, her mind completely blank.

What was going on?

Didn’t she die fighting the Zombie King at the base?

Where was this?

She was lying on a thin quilt, the uneven floor pressing against her body, causing her to ache all over.  Ji Wanqing crawled out, following the faint light coming from the side.

Good heavens!

She was actually sleeping under the bed!

“Hiss…”

Ji Wanqing stretched her shoulders while surveying the small room.

It was about six or seven square meters.  Everything, from the thermos on the desk to the posters on the wall, had a distinct vintage feel.

She leaned closer to examine the calendar behind the door.

— June 1976

!

Had she… time traveled?

Ji Wanqing quickly gathered her mental strength, her consciousness sinking into her space.  Seeing that all her supplies were safely stored, she finally let out a sigh of relief.

However, if anyone else had traveled to this resource-scarce 1970s, they might have cursed the heavens!

But Ji Wanqing had already endured enough in the bloody and treacherous apocalypse.

To be transported to a peaceful era, even if it meant lacking clothes and food with an underdeveloped economy, she would be a thousand times grateful!

Her physical condition was truly terrible.  She reached into her space and grabbed a cup of spiritual spring water, gulping it down.

She could feel that the original owner of this body hadn’t had water in a long time.  It was like a withered flower bud, greedily absorbing the moisture from the spiritual spring water.

As the discomfort gradually subsided, she immediately noticed a new set of memories in her mind.

The original owner shared the same name as her, Ji Wanqing, and was nineteen years old.

Since her mother’s death when she was eight, she had lived with her grandfather.

Two years ago, her grandfather passed away from illness. Before he died, he gave his granddaughter a jade pendant and told her to go to the An Province Military District to find a young man named Jiang Che.

— Jiang Che was the fiancé her grandfather had arranged for her in a childhood engagement.

The original Ji Wanqing was a high school graduate, an intellectual with advanced knowledge.  She was extremely resistant to arranged marriages like this.

Therefore, after her grandfather’s death, she didn’t go to find this so-called fiancé.  Instead, she packed her bags and went to live with her biological father.

In the original Ji Wanqing’s memories, her father, Ji Jianguo, was quite good to her.

When she was young, her mother always made her stay home and do her homework.  Only her father would secretly bring her a string of candied hawthorn or a piece of peach Cake (a type of Chinese pastry) to encourage her to take breaks and not overwork herself.  He was particularly indulgent towards her.

But after her mother’s death, her grandfather took her back to his hometown without hesitation, separating her from her father.

So, after taking care of her grandfather’s funeral, she came to Yunhe City alone to find her father.

When Ji Jianguo heard that his father-in-law had died and his daughter had come to live with him, he was overjoyed.  Naturally, he couldn’t have been nicer to his daughter.

Although her father had remarried and had a wife and son, the whole family welcomed her with open arms, and she gradually integrated into their lives.

But slowly, Ji Jianguo started to trick her out of her money and food stamps, and her luggage was gradually stolen by her stepmother, Su Xiu, and her stepsister, Ji Xiaorou.

Finally, when she learned that her father-in-law had left no inheritance, the whole family turned on her.

Ji Wanqing, a weak woman with no fighting skills, was surrounded by several adults.  How could she possibly fight back?

The first few times she was beaten, she went to the neighborhood committee to seek justice.

But the Ji family was shameless.  The first time, they said she had hit her younger brother, slapped her sister, and pushed her stepmother, so her father naturally had to discipline her.

The second time, they said she had stolen something from the house, and he wouldn’t let her off without a good beating.

The third time, they even said she had been out with a hooligan and hadn’t come home at night!

This time, without Ji Jianguo even needing to speak, everyone thought she deserved a good beating!

After several incidents, Ji Wanqing’s reputation in the apartment building grew worse and worse.  Every time she went out, people would point and gossip, and she was driven to the brink of madness!

She wanted to escape, but she had no money or a referral letter.

But if she didn’t escape, she would be treated like a slave by that family!

It wasn’t until Ji Wanqing was covered in scars and forced to sleep under the bed that she finally realized why her grandfather had been willing to entrust her to a complete stranger, her fiancé, rather than let her come back to find her father.

Just yesterday.

Ji Wanqing was sick and accidentally broke two bowls while washing dishes.  Immediately, Ji Jianguo punched and kicked her.  Then, JiXinbao followed suit, and the eight-year-old boy even jumped on her back!

Ji Wanqing fainted from the pain, and no one even suggested taking her to the doctor.  They treated her like trash, sweeping her under the bed, and she died shortly after.

When she woke up again, she was Ji Wanqing from another world.

The spiritual spring water had healing properties.  It was thanks to the spiritual spring water that Ji Wanqing had been able to survive in the apocalypse for so long.

That was why she had just given her new body a cup of undiluted spiritual spring water.  Now, her whole body was warm, and the lingering illnesses and old injuries were slowly healing.

It was still early.  Ji Wanqing glanced at Ji Xiaorou, who was sleeping soundly on the bed, and slowly sat down on the stool, beginning to activate her abilities.

She was devastated to discover that her current weak mental strength was like a tiny sprout!

In the apocalypse, Ji Wanqing had awakened her mental power abilities and, by chance, obtained the spiritual spring space.

Because she had activated the space early on, and it had preservation capabilities, the supplies she had gathered in the early days of the apocalypse were incredibly abundant.

However, it was impossible to go without food and drink in the apocalypse.  All the convenient foods, such as chocolate, beef jerky, potato chips, and all sorts of ready-to-eat snacks, had been consumed.

Instant noodles, rice balls, and self-heating meal boxes were also running low.

But because the apocalypse was a constant struggle for survival, there was no time to stop and cook.  So, she still had a lot of rice, flour, oil, vegetables, fruits, and meat left in her space.

In addition to these, she had years’ worth of zombie crystals stored in her space, as well as new weapons and drugs developed by the base.

After several attempts to mentally project her power failed, Ji Wanqing realized that it was because her mental strength was too weak.  She then took out the crystals to enhance her abilities.

However, she had used thirty or forty crystals, which should have been enough to raise her abilities to the second level.

But she couldn’t even achieve the most basic mental projection.

Ji Wanqing had been a sixth-level mental power user, capable of controlling ten fourth-level zombies to commit suicide.

But after coming to this new world, it seemed that the will of the world didn’t allow such an overpowered ability to exist, and her mental power was useless except for making her more focused and persistent.

“Ah—”

“Who gave you permission to sit on my stool!”

Ji Wanqing had spent over an hour absorbing crystals to enhance her mental strength.  Ji Xiaorou, who had been sleeping soundly, woke up and saw the little wretch sitting at her desk, lost in thought!

Ji Wanqing was so dirty and smelly!  It was a favor to let her sleep under the bed!  How dare she sit on her stool!

Hearing the shout, Ji Wanqing slightly raised her eyelids.

She saw a round-faced girl jump up, ready to hit her.

Ji Wanqing raised her hand and grabbed the wrist that was about to slap her face, pulling the girl backward and throwing her onto the bed.

Ji Xiaorou was surprised.  The little wretch dared to resist her today?  She was about to call her parents to discipline her, but Ji Wanqing took a step forward, jumped on her, and pressed her down firmly!

Looking at the unfamiliarly forceful Ji Wanqing, Ji Xiaorou felt a sharp pain in her stomach.  She widened her eyes, but before she could scream, Ji Wanqing smiled coldly and, without hesitation, swung her arm, slapping her face repeatedly!
