Chapter 2: Rejecting His Touch
“What am I supposed to explain?”
Jiang Sheng’s nonchalant attitude was truly that of a scumbag. He walked ahead, his back a picture of carefree swagger, his sharp features radiating an aura that could make anyone lose their way.
Chen Jinsi, watching his friend’s unyielding and irresponsible playboy demeanor, gave a thumbs up. “Gotta love our Third Brother, he’s such a jerk, yet still manages to be liked by so many.”
“Every high school from the first to the eighteenth knows your name.”
Jiang Sheng’s eyes were cold, his mind replaying Ning Qiutang’s words. She wanted to break off the engagement, but it wasn’t that easy.
“Bro, you lost your uniform again!” Chen Jinsi saw the uniform on the ground and quickly picked it up, fearing that some girl might find it and hide it, leading to rumors.
They walked through the playground back to the school building.
Chen Jinsi played with his phone while saying, “Hmm, I feel like something’s missing.”
The next second, something fell from the building, landing in front of them.
It almost hit Chen Jinsi on the head. He looked up angrily at the building, seeing a few people sticking their heads out from the third floor.
“Damn it, Qin Dang, you’re dead!”
Ning Qiutang was also leaning over, looking down. Seeing it was them, she had wanted to ask them to pick up her lunch box, but the words died in her throat.
Yu Jiaojiao, next to her, exploded. She shoved Qin Dang hard. “Are you an idiot? You have the guts to bully others, but you bully girls? You can’t beat Jiang Sheng so you pick on us? Are you crazy?”
“So what if I bully you? Who told you to be deaf?” Qin Dang, a spoiled brat, liked to bully people, especially those close to Jiang Sheng.
Yu Jiaojiao couldn’t stand him, and they started fighting.
Seeing the commotion upstairs, Chen Jinsi said, “I know what’s missing, it’s the girl who’s always stuck to you, she hasn’t shown up in a while.”
“Pick up her lunch box,” Jiang Sheng ordered before heading upstairs.
Chen Jinsi looked at the shattered lunch box. “Do you even want it? It’s completely broken.”
The glass lunch box, falling from the third floor, was bound to shatter.
Seeing Jiang Sheng head upstairs, he quickly picked up the lunch box and followed.
Ning Qiutang wanted to break up the fight. Qin Dang was someone who held a grudge, and after inheriting the family business, he would be even more ruthless. The more he hated someone now, the more he would resent them later. He had tormented her no less than anyone else.
She abandoned her usual arrogant and domineering attitude, becoming as gentle as a declawed kitten.
“Stop it!”
Someone pushed her hard, sending her towards the stairs. She almost fell.
Luckily, someone caught her waist, saving her.
“Thank…” Ning Qiutang looked back in shock, finding that it was Jiang Sheng who had saved her.
Her mind raced, and she quickly pushed him away, taking several steps back. In her haste, she stepped on the edge of the stairs and twisted her ankle.
Pain shot through her, and tears immediately welled up. She grabbed the wall for support, struggling to stay upright.
☆With her [tear-prone constitution], her tears flowed like a broken dam. She turned her back to the boy and wiped her eyes, her face a mix of fear and surprise. (You understand?)
Thinking of Yu Jiaojiao, she limped towards the fight.
Jiang Sheng watched her every reaction, every expression. A chill ran down the boy’s usually arrogant face, his icy demeanor like the calm before a storm.
Seeing her about to recklessly intervene, he grabbed her, his fingers tightening around her delicate wrist. With a powerful kick, he sent Qin Dang crashing into the wall.
“Not done yet, fight me.”
As soon as everyone saw him, they retreated several steps like mice seeing a jungle king. Everyone froze, afraid to move.
Yu Jiaojiao pulled out a brick from somewhere, turned her head and smashed it against Qin Dang’s head.
“You’re so arrogant, you’re so loud, you damn fool!”
“Ah! Yu Jiaojiao, you’re finished!” Qin Dang was about to fight Jiang Sheng when he was hit on the forehead, his vision went black, and he fell to the ground.
Liu Ang immediately called out, “What are you all standing there for? Quickly take the boss to the infirmary!”
A group of people scurried away again.
Yu Jiaojiao fought ten people alone. She had trained with her brother, who was a soldier, so she was skilled and ruthless.
“Jiaojiao, are you okay?” Ning Qiutang struggled to break free from Jiang Sheng’s hand, swaying as she rushed over, caught by her best friend.
“I’m fine, I just got hit a few times. How come your foot is still sprained?”
Yu Jiaojiao helped her up, her gaze unexpectedly falling on the usually aloof, indifferent person who had been watching from the sidelines.
She quickly took out a tissue to wipe her best friend’s tears.
This tearful constitution was really speechless. She had such a strong presence, but as soon as she cried, she seemed pitiful and weak.
Chen Jinshi came up after the fight was over. He was carrying a lunchbox packaging bag filled with broken pieces of bowls. “Oh, Miss Ning, when did you become so fragile and helpless? When you slapped Qin Dang in the face, you were a heroine.”
He handed over the lunchbox bag.
Ning Qiutang quickly took it back, not even looking at them, she grabbed Yu Jiaojiao and hurried away, avoiding them like snakes.
Jiang Sheng’s fingers rubbed slightly, his fingertips still retaining the warmth of the girl’s wrist. Was she afraid of him?
“Strange, Ning Qiutang used to look at you like you were a savior, her eyes and body were glued to you. Today, she looks at you like you’re a ghost.”
“Why is she afraid of you?” Chen Jinshi observed very carefully, suspecting that Jiang Sheng had done something to Ning Qiutang this week.
After all, there were many people in the world who were afraid of Jiang Tai Ziye, but few who were not. Ning Qiutang’s arrogant and domineering attitude was also one that feared nothing.
Jiang Sheng replied coldly, “That’s just fine.”
He turned and went upstairs.
He was in the science class, and also in Class One.
Ning Qiutang was in the arts class, also in Class One.
Chen Jinshi touched his nose and said to him, “Shen Wanwan just couldn’t find you, she even called me. Don’t you go see what’s going on?”
“Don’t let her be bullied again…”
“You’re always concerned about other people’s business, you’re going to be a paparazzi later.”
Jiang Sheng’s tone was impatient, obviously not wanting to get involved.
Chen Jinshi shut his mouth. Third Brother was really unpredictable. He was still very concerned about that girl a while ago, but now he’s not interested.
Back in the classroom.
Ning Qiutang sat in her chair to rest, her ankle ached with every movement. “Woo woo woo, it hurts so much.”
“This pack of tissues is not enough, stop crying. Your eyes will be swollen and uncomfortable later.” Yu Jiaojiao sighed, this tearful constitution was really tormenting.
Ning Qiutang tried to calm down, looking at her best friend who never left her side, she said with tears and laughter, “It’s okay, I’m going to see a doctor after school anyway.”
“Oh, this little pitiful girl, the killing power of her tears is really enough to make anyone heartbroken.” Yu Jiaojiao helped her tidy up her things.
At this time, Shen Wanwan came back, glanced at them, and immediately went over to ask with concern, “Ning classmate, what’s wrong? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”
