He Left a Kiss on the Rose Chapter 25

Chapter 25: When a Girl Cries, She Wants a Hug

“Just this?” Jiang Sheng naturally took her hand and led her to the shooting range, which was half entertainment and half training.

Although this wasn’t a real gun range, it was the most realistic experience.

He brought Ning Qiutang to the training room, holding a replica pistol and an assault rifle, and personally taught her.

“The effective range of a pistol is generally around 50 meters. Before firing, you need to load it. A real gun is heavier. You try holding it to get a feel for it.”

Ning Qiutang didn’t expect him to really bring her to try shooting. She caught the pistol he threw over and felt its weight.

Jiang Sheng demonstrated the loading, aiming, and firing in slow motion.

“Try it.”

Ning Qiutang failed to load it the first time. She didn’t have enough strength.

Jiang Sheng chuckled, “So delicate, can’t even load a gun.”

Ning Qiutang wanted to save face. The second time, she mastered the method and succeeded. She imitated his movements, aiming at the target, and fired. Her hand trembled when she pulled the trigger, and she missed.

“Just practice more,” Jiang Sheng sat behind her, patiently.

Ning Qiutang tried getting a feel for it, and she was getting better. Although she still couldn’t hit the target accurately, at least she wasn’t missing completely.

She turned her head to look at Jiang Sheng, who was sitting behind her, his hat pulled low, seemingly sleepy again. He always seemed to be half-asleep.

The gun in her hand was cold. She suddenly raised it, pointing the barrel at the boy who was sitting with his eyes closed, resting.

Compared to her calmness earlier, she was now filled with anxiety, her hand trembling.

Jiang Sheng slowly raised his head, looking at her with amusement at her audacity. “Little rose, you can also sting.”

Ning Qiutang was startled, dropping the gun to the ground. Her eyes turned red, and her grievances were evident. “This gun can’t kill anyone anyway.”

Jiang Sheng got up, calmly picking up the gun from the ground and approaching her step by step. “A gun can’t kill, but it can hurt.”

The boy suddenly grabbed her hand, pressing the gun barrel against her wrist. He didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

“Ah!” Ning Qiutang was so scared her legs went weak. She struggled to break free from him.

The blast of air hit her wrist. Her delicate skin was so fragile, it felt like it could break her hand.

But the expected pain didn’t come.

Ning Qiutang’s eyes welled up with tears. She looked at the mischievous bad boy with fear.

Jiang Sheng raised an eyebrow, holding her wrist tightly, his expression playful and cruel. “Pistol bullets are limited. You have to reload after you run out.”

“Look at you, why are you so scared? If it had real bullets, I wouldn’t dare hurt Little Rose.”

“Next time you point a gun at me, you won’t even have a chance to cry.”

He seemed to regret that the gun didn’t have bullets.

Ning Qiutang trembled, her heart filled with fear. The psychological shadow that had been creeping into her heart like moss pierced her heart again. She gasped for breath, staring at him without speaking.

Jiang Sheng threw the gun away, looking down at her slender, white wrist. It turned red with just a light touch. How delicate she was.

The boy’s fingers gently rubbed her wrist, listening to her soft cries, his expression ambiguous. “Does it hurt?”

Ning Qiutang was simply scared. She shook her head vigorously, looking pitiful. “It doesn’t hurt.”

A hint of tenderness arose in Jiang Sheng’s heart, but it was quickly swallowed by his mischievous nature. He gently pulled her into his arms and hugged her.

“Jiang Sheng?” Ning Qiutang was startled again. What was he doing?

Jiang Sheng said seriously, “They say when a girl cries, she wants a hug.”

Ning Qiutang stopped crying. He always did things in an unpredictable way, making her nervous. “I’m okay now, let me go.”

Jiang Sheng let go of her, looking at her wet eyes, beautiful like the clear water of a spring lake, rippling with seductive ripples.

So she still wanted him to hug her, she was quite clingy.

He said condescendingly, “As long as you behave, I’ll be good to you.”

Ning Qiutang wanted to say something, but she didn’t understand what he meant. She didn’t want him to be good to her at all.

“You promised me you’d break off the engagement after a year.”

Jiang Sheng sneered inwardly, but his face remained impassive. “Little Rose, don’t bring up things that make me unhappy in such a happy place.”

Ning Qiutang shut her mouth, feeling a surge of annoyance.

Jiang Sheng was bored, so he took her out again.

Ning Qiutang received a call from her mother and honestly told her that she was with Jiang Sheng and would be coming home.

As she turned around, she saw Jiang Sheng buying a bunch of things from every food stall.

“Hungry?” His tone was unusually gentle.

Ning Qiutang was taken aback. She didn’t dare to refuse or eat, afraid he might poison her.

“I’m okay.”

Jiang Sheng handed her a cotton candy. “The vendor said it’s very sweet, try it.”

Ning Qiutang wanted to say that white sugar is definitely sweet, especially with saccharin added.

Seeing his enthusiastic look, she understood that she couldn’t dampen his spirits, otherwise, what happened earlier would happen again. “Okay.”

She took a bite, the sweetness making her heart bitter.

It was something she had always dreamed of, but at this moment, she was more afraid than anyone else and didn’t dare to ask for too much.

Jiang Sheng saw that she didn’t smile from beginning to end, his face becoming increasingly gloomy.

Ning Qiutang saw that he was unhappy again. His unpredictable mood was really scary. She didn’t understand what she had done wrong.

She noticed a couple passing by, the girl sharing her food with her boyfriend.

Ning Qiutang questioned her life. Would the high and mighty Crown Prince care about this?

Didn’t he hate her?

Seeing that Jiang Sheng was about to explode, she quickly handed him the cotton candy. “Third Brother, you have some too.”

Jiang Sheng’s anger was instantly extinguished. He stared at the cotton candy the girl offered him in a conciliatory manner, feeling a little disgusted.

But seeing her expectant look, he graciously took a bite. It was really disgusting.

The young man frowned.

Ning Qiutang’s heart pounded. She looked at his displeased expression with confusion. “Not good?”

Jiang Sheng asked back, “What do you think?”

Ning Qiutang was in a dilemma. Was it good or bad? After all, he had brought it. If she said it wasn’t good, would he strangle her on the spot?

“It’s good, it’s very sweet.”

“If it’s good, why aren’t you smiling? You look like I’ve wronged you.” Jiang Sheng stared at her, wanting to strangle her.

Ning Qiutang understood. It was like this. She adjusted her emotions and smiled. “You scared me just now. How could I smile? I thought I had done something wrong.”

“Then let’s go ride the carousel!”

She pulled the gloomy young man to join the queue.

Jiang Sheng looked at the garish carousel with disdain. “yòuzhì childish.”

Ning Qiutang was immediately caught in a dilemma. If the Crown Prince thought it was childish, then what else could they do? “But I think it’s fun.”

That roller coaster, pirate ship, and swing hammer were all too scary.

Jiang Sheng pushed her towards the ticket booth. “Then let’s go.”

Ning Qiutang immediately gave him face and smiled, as if the sun had come out, making him feel comfortable. “Okay, then you take a picture of me!”

For once, she relaxed and enjoyed herself.

She pulled Jiang Sheng onto two rocking toy horses.

As the equipment started to turn, they moved in parallel.

The cheerful music created a great atmosphere. Ning Qiutang turned back and smiled, leaving a photo in Jiang Sheng’s phone.
