Chapter 29: Only You in My Eyes
Jiang Sheng snatched the ball back with a flick of his wrist. Standing far away, he raised his hands and slammed the ball forcefully towards their hoop.
A very cool three-pointer.
“Nice, awesome!” Yu Jiaojiao hooked arms with her best friend. On the youthful battlefield, everyone was the most dazzling star.
Ning Qiutang pursed her lips, watching the boy who seemed to be on a different level than everyone else. Her thoughts drifted back to her past life.
She, like many others who secretly admired Jiang Sheng, had once brought him water and towels when he played basketball, cheering him on. But ever since Shen Wanwan appeared…
She was replaced by this woman. Even before graduation, Jiang Sheng played the most intense and passionate game for Shen Wanwan. After the game, the boy confessed in front of everyone, and they officially became a couple.
And today…
“Ah, Tangtang, be careful!” Yu Jiaojiao turned to tell the people behind her not to push, and when she turned back, she saw the guys accidentally throwing the ball towards their side.
These boys were incredibly strong, and a hit would definitely cause a bloody nose.
Ning Qiutang came back to her senses but it was too late to dodge. Her eyes widened in fear as she watched the basketball coming straight at her.
Suddenly, Jiang Sheng seemed to teleport over. But because he didn’t stop himself, he hugged Ning Qiutang and they fell to the ground.
The people behind them reached out to help, so they didn’t fall too hard.
Ning Qiutang felt like she was enveloped by a seamless sponge. She could smell Jiang Sheng’s scent, and the surrounding sounds seemed to be blocked out. She stared at him blankly.
The moment Jiang Sheng hugged her, he caught the basketball with his hand. Without time to speak to Ning Qiutang, he turned around and slammed the ball forcefully.
“Like to hit people?”
Qin Dang’s sidekick was hit in the face. He stumbled and fell to the ground: “Ah!”
“Jiang Sheng, just play basketball, why are you hitting people? Besides, with so many people around, the ball doesn’t have eyes, it’s an accident if it hits someone. Are you crazy?”
The people on the other side were furious. This was bullying.
Chen Jinsi and the others weren’t pushovers either.
“The ball doesn’t have eyes, why didn’t it hit me? It didn’t even curve, it went straight for Ning Qiutang’s face. It wasn’t an accident, it was intentional. Don’t think we don’t know what you’re up to.”
Zhao Linru dribbled the ball and sneered: “If you don’t want to play basketball, you can hit people too. One-on-one or a gang fight?”
Li Yuchen put his hands on his hips and looked at Qin Dang and his clowns: “You can’t play basketball, you can’t hit people, what the hell are you good at, Qin Dang?”
“Damn it, play your damn ball, brothers, let’s go!”
Qin Dang was furious. This arrogant and overbearing Jiang Sheng, did he really think he could get away with this?
Chen Jinsi had been wanting to fight for a while.
Just as the two sides were about to clash, the school leaders arrived.
“What’s going on here!” Lin Xianhe was the first to step between them, his gaze stern as he looked at the group of people, and behind them, Jiang Sheng who was controlling the situation.
Jiang Sheng played with the ball, his tone arrogant and dissolute: “Director, we’re playing basketball.”
“Jiang Sheng, you’re itching for a beating if you’re not causing trouble, aren’t you?” Lin Xianhe glared at his nephew, exasperated and helpless.
Qin Dang immediately complained: “Director Lin, Jiang Sheng just hit someone with the ball, look at what he did to Ma Yuan.”
Chen Jinsi was furious: “Director, you know Jiang Sheng, if others don’t attack first, our third brother can be generous. If it wasn’t for this idiot…”
“Cough, you’re a student, what kind of language is that? Write a self-criticism tomorrow.” Lin Xianhe glared at him.
Li Yuchen saw the group of leaders coming from behind, and he held back Chen Jinsi who was reluctant to give in: “Director Lin, we really were playing basketball.”
“And he didn’t mean to hurt Ma. We’ll cover the medical expenses. It’s a friendly match after all, it wouldn’t look good if we made a fuss. Let’s just finish the game.”
“You…” How could Ma Yuan swallow his pride?
Zhao Linru looked at him coldly: “What? Don’t you believe me? Ask everyone, did Jiang Sheng hit him just now?”
Everyone: “No.”
Ma Yuan was choked with anger: “You… Boss…”
Qin Dang raised his hand to stop him, grinning wickedly: “Yeah, we were just playing around. It’s not over yet, do you teachers want to watch?”
The leaders nodded.
“Your school students are pretty lively, they’re all so enthusiastic in PE class. Let’s be referees and have a good look.”
Lin Xianhe definitely didn’t want the leaders to watch. These young masters were full of tricks, and if something happened later, it would be over.
“I think maybe…”
“Hey, Xiao Lin, just watch. Just for ten minutes. We didn’t have such good conditions when we were studying.”
The big leader had spoken, Lin Xianhe could only smile wryly.
He looked at his mischievous nephew: “Jiang Sheng, play well.”
Don’t mess up, or I’ll deal with you later.
Jiang Sheng sneered: “I’ll definitely play well.”
The game resumed.
This time, the situation was even more intense.
Chen Jinshi and the others started using dirty tactics.
Qin Dang’s people were hit in the abdomen, waist, and calves with elbows, knees, and even their hamstrings. In the first three minutes, Jiang Sheng’s team had already scored seven points.
Ning Qiutang leaned against the basketball hoop, her heart pounding as she watched the tense game.
“Tangtang, are you okay?” Yu Jiaojiao saw her pale face and thought she had bumped into something.
When they fell, Jiang Sheng had held her so she wouldn’t get hurt.
Ning Qiutang shook her head: “I’m fine. I didn’t expect him to save me.”
Yu Jiaojiao quickly said: “Of course he saved you. It was so cool when he ran towards you.”
“There were so many people around, but his eyes were only for you.”
Ning Qiutang looked at Jiang Sheng, who was effortlessly moving on the court, her eyes shimmering like the surface of water.
But when she thought about those things, the little bit of hope in her heart was suppressed.
Jiang Sheng dominated the game, snatching the ball from them several times and hitting Qin Dang hard several times.
Both sides attacked each other, each one enduring more pain than the other, but not a single groan escaped their lips.
The score remained high for Jiang Sheng’s team, no matter how hard Qin Dang tried to catch up.
Thinking about the bet they had made earlier, Qin Dang’s face was dark. Seeing Shen Wanwan staring at him, he didn’t want to lose face and decided to take Jiang Sheng down.
Jiang Sheng knew he would make a move. When Qin Dang couldn’t hold back and was about to foul him, he gave a disdainful smile and kicked him hard on the thigh.
“Ah!” Qin Dang cried out in pain, his face turning pale as he fell to his knees.
Lin Xianhe’s face turned pale. This Jiang Sheng was at it again.
Chen Jinshi and the others received the signal and immediately went to help Qin Dang up, pretending to be concerned.
“Qin, what happened? Let’s take you to the infirmary.”
Jiang Sheng’s lips curled up in a wicked smile. He turned his back to the basketball hoop and threw the ball backwards, scoring another perfect three-pointer, as if he had eyes in the back of his head.
“Good!” The leaders stood up, praising the excellent atmosphere of their school.
“Your school is great. These young men are all very talented. Their basketball skills are almost as good as professional players.”
