Chapter 53 – The Incident Under the Blanket
“How is it?”
Michako looked up at her brother and asked with a playful smile, “Any issues?”
She recalled that “Do You Like It Even If It’s Perverted As Long As It’s Cute?” would debut as a light novel next year, with its manga adaptation coming much later.
She hadn’t read the original, having been introduced to the manga version first. While presenting it in text would have been easier, she had no experience in writing light novels. Even if she knew the plot, her writing skills wouldn’t suffice to reproduce it. However, she had hands-on experience with manga. Given the plot, her drawing skills and speed would allow her to produce a chapter in just a couple of days.
Frankly, Michako wasn’t interested in harem-oriented manga as a girl. She was drawn to “Cute Pervert” because of the “brother-obsessed sister” character. Given its future popularity and the intriguing and bold setup right from the beginning, she believed that this manga would undoubtedly pass the publishers’ review. Hence, after much contemplation, she decided to reproduce this manga.
“No—”
Hearing his sister’s question, Yagi Miyuki shook his head with a stiff expression, “The manga is very interesting. If there’s a problem, it would be in your head, Michako.”
Yagi Miyuki looked at her sister with an odd expression. Only three chapters in, the manga had already showcased its age-inappropriate nature. With the student council president introduced as a masochist, and considering the title, he deduced that the other characters wouldn’t be ordinary either.
But Michako was just a 14-year-old middle school girl. Although Japanese teens tended to mature early, this seemed a bit too explicit.
“Huh?”
Michako feigned ignorance, showing a puzzled look.
“The manga is excellent, but your… thoughts are somewhat unhealthy, aren’t they?” Yagi Miyuki remarked, “The student council president is a masochist, so what are the other characters like? Are they all perverts?”
“Yes!”
Michako counted on her fingers, excitedly explaining, “The junior is a sadist, and the childhood friend who’s also a classmate is a fujoshi.”
“Is… is that so?”
Yagi Miyuki felt mixed emotions.
He knew that Michako was mature, but he hadn’t expected her knowledge to be this extensive. It seemed he couldn’t treat her like a child anymore. She might even know more than him.
“Where are you planning to submit it for publication?”
Yagi Miyuki took a deep breath.

Though he still found it somewhat hard to believe that his sister could create something like this, the evidence was right before him, and he had no reason to continue doubting.
“I plan to submit it to Kadokawa Shoten for the newcomer award. Do you have any better suggestions, brother?”
“I’m not too familiar with these things, so you should decide on your own.”
Yagi Miyuki shrugged and then added with a slightly furrowed brow, “Michako, I have no issues with you drawing manga, but if it affects your grades, I can’t overlook that. Even if you can earn money from drawing manga, at your age, you can’t skip school.”
“Don’t worry, brother. I’ve got this,” Michako said with a smile, not countering his words.
She knew her brother firmly believed in the idea that “knowledge can change one’s destiny.” Although she didn’t quite agree with it, she chose not to argue.
“By the way, brother,” Michako suddenly remembered something, “Mom told me that she and Dad have finished their work and will return home either tomorrow or the day after.”
“Really?” Yagi Miyuki didn’t show much of a reaction.
After all, even if the couple did return, they would be off on another business trip soon. He had grown accustomed to their frequent absences.
“I actually quite enjoy our alone time, brother. Although I shouldn’t say this, I hope no one interrupts our world for two.”
Michako said with a playful smile, but internally, she felt a bit anxious. She wasn’t sure how her brother would react to her suggestive words.
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Yagi Miyuki replied, somewhat exasperatedly. “Alright, I’m going to sleep now. You should go and rest as well.”
“Okay.” Seeing that her brother didn’t have a strong reaction, Michako cheekily added, “Brother, can I sleep with you tonight?”
“No,” Yagi Miyuki responded without hesitation, “You’re grown up now, stop being so clingy. Go back.”
“Oh.”
Michako pouted, her eyes twinkling mischievously, “Goodnight, brother.”
“Goodnight. And wait,” Yagi Miyuki suddenly added, “Don’t let Dad know about you drawing manga.”
Considering their father’s traditional mindset, some chauvinistic tendencies, and strong bias against otaku culture, if he found out about Michako’s endeavors, it might not end well.
“I understand,” Michako replied, waving as she slowly exited the room.
After seeing his sister out, Yagi Miyuki turned off the lights and lay down, soon drifting into a deep sleep.

In a daze, Yagi Miyuki felt like he was dreaming. It seemed like something had entered his room and crawled into his bed.
This dream seemed to be a multi-scene change. At one moment, the scene switched to the deep sea, where he was deceived by the mermaid Narase Mero and brought to the mermaid’s den. He became a very well-treated utility person, surrounded by admiration and attention. Every night, he felt so overwhelmed with choices that he felt like he was developing choice-phobia. Even the famous website “TaoBao” didn’t have this package.
Then… sunlight streamed in through the window, causing him to open his eyes.
“Ugh…”
Yagi Miyuki rubbed his head, feeling a bit dazed, his first instinct upon waking up was to search for his phone on his bed.
“Hmm?”
Yagi Miyuki suddenly let out a sound of confusion, squeezing the soft thing he had just felt in his hand, feeling puzzled. After searching for a while, he didn’t find his phone. Instead, what was this soft, squishy thing he had grabbed?
With sleepy eyes, and due to the binding technique of his blanket, Yagi Miyuki had a hard time fully opening his eyes and could only continue feeling the soft item in his hand, pondering sluggishly what it could be.
“Brother, big brother…”
A weak, familiar voice suddenly rang out, followed by a small head poking out from the blanket. Yagi Miyuki blankly stared at the little face that suddenly appeared before him — was it Michako?
Michako blinked her big eyes, her delicate little face blushing, and said in a slightly shy voice: “Big brother, can… can you be gentler? It hurts.”
Yagi Miyuki’s eyes widened in shock! Realizing what he was holding, he suddenly jumped out of the bed in panic and exclaimed: “Michako?! How did you get into my bed?!”
