Lingquan Space: Fortunate Wife of a Farmer’s Family Chapter 89

Chapter 89: Constantly Moving Away

Su Yu looked at YuanBao with a smile and said, “With you in this condition, how can we leave? We have to wait until you’re completely healed before we can go.”

Yuan Bao frowned and replied, “Master, I’m already fine. We can leave at any time.”

However, Su Yu shook his head gently and said, “It’s not considered fine until Doctor Qian says you’re fine. You just stay put and take care of your recovery. How’s your health? Do I need to remind you?”

Yuan Bao sighed heavily and said, “Master, I don’t like it here.”

“Coincidentally, I don’t like it either,” Su Yu said directly.

It wasn’t that he disliked the Su family; he just disliked the couple, Second Master and his wife.

Doctor Qian, who had been listening to their conversation, spoke with irritation, “Do you two consider my feelings when you talk?”

In reality, the Su family was quite good, but it was the behavior of Second Master and his wife that had become increasingly unreasonable over the years. This had caused Su Yu to avoid returning home whenever possible and to slip in and out quietly. It was a mystery what was going on in his mind.

“Afterward, we can talk to Grandfather and ask him to help us divide the estate, so we can live in our own home and won’t have to come over here,” Su Yu considered the possibility, rubbing his chin.

“Don’t even think about it. Do you think  your Grandfather will agree? What is this child thinking? You want to be scolded before you even get married?” Doctor Qian shook his head in disbelief.

“We can always think about it. I’ll talk to Grandfather later, and he’ll definitely agree,” Su Yu stated firmly.

Yuan Bao nodded in agreement, saying, “If it’s the young master talking to Grandfather, he will surely agree.”

What if they don’t divide the estate and just live here? What if Madame (Wang Jinhe) and the Young Master come and get bullied by these two? If the Young Master were to be mistreated, the Master would surely be furious, and not many people could bear the wrath of He Lianqiong. That would include Su Qin and his wife.

“YuanBao, take your time to recover. I’ll talk to Grandfather about this matter,” Su Yu said and left. His quick decision-making left Doctor Qian bewildered. Was there such a rush?

However, it also indicated how badly the relationship between Su Yu and Su Qin’s couple had deteriorated.

These two had really miscalculated. They initially wanted to reconcile with Su Yu, but somehow pushed him further away.

Doctor Qian understood deep down that while Su Yu might eventually forgive the past actions of Second Madame, the fact that they had hurt Yuan Bao had revealed Su Yu’s limits. This would not be something he’d tolerate. He just wondered what expressions would cross the faces of Second Madame and her husband when they heard about Su Yu’s desire to separate and live independently.

Su Xi looked at Su Yu and asked, “What do you want to talk to me about?”

“Can’t I come to talk to Grandfather?” Su Yu asked indignantly.

Su Xi replied, “People don’t visit for no reason. Every time you come to me, it’s for this, isn’t it? So, what do you want to discuss this time?”

Su Yu chuckled, then became serious and said, “Grandfather, I want to separate and live independently.”

Su Xi had considered various topics Su Yu might bring up, but he never anticipated that Su Yu would express a desire to live independently.

“Have you thought this through?” Su Xi asked with a serious expression.

“Do you realize that once you choose to live independently, you will have to return many things you currently possess? Especially the family’s assets and businesses, you must return them,” Su Xi sternly explained.

“I understand, but it doesn’t matter. I have my own properties that are more than enough to support my future family,” Su Yu replied nonchalantly.

Over the years, he had not only managed the family’s assets but also built his own wealth. He believed that he could provide a good life for his future family.

“If, in the future, the clan wishes me to help manage the assets and contribute to the family’s profits, I’m willing to help,” Su Yu added seriously, leaning back in his chair.

Su Xi looked at Su Yu, impressed that he had thought through all these matters and made a well-considered decision.

“Xiao Yu, if this is what you want, I’ll gladly agree. Over the years, you’ve been visiting our family less frequently, and each time you come, it’s to your own residence. In a way, it’s not much different from living independently. The only difference might be that you’d manage a significant portion of the family’s assets,” Su Xi explained.

“Thank you, Grandfather. I’ll make sure to visit you more often,” Su Yu expressed his gratitude.

He knew that as long as he asked his grandfather, Su Xi would agree to his request.

“Don’t be too polite with me. But when will you bring Xiao Bao and the others back?” Su Xi asked, furrowing his brow.

“No hurry, Grandfather. When you go over, you’ll see Xiao Bao. He’s a clever little rascal, and you might be surprised by how clever he is. He’s got a lot of talent for both studying and martial arts,” Su Yu said, his eyes filled with affection as he thought about Xiao Bao.

“Could you not bring this up to me? You know very well that I can’t see Xiao Bao yet, and you mention all of these anyway. Are you doing this on purpose?” Su Xi grumbled, showing a touch of irritation.

“No, I just wanted to let you know how outstanding your grandson is. It’s something you wouldn’t dare to imagine,” Su Yu said.

Su Xi chuckled, “You were just as remarkable when you were young. Did I say anything then?”

While Su Yu was clearly more academically inclined, he lost interest in studying after passing the imperial examination. No matter how many times Su Xi mentioned it, his grandson showed no signs of changing his mind. Su Xi had no choice but to let him do as he pleased.

“Grandfather, let’s handle this matter sooner, shall we?” Su Yu changed the subject with a grin.

“Alright, I’ll inform the family members,” Su Xi replied. Su Yu’s decision to split from the family was a significant matter, and it would require the presence of many people, as it involved many issues.

Su Yu nodded and had a conversation with his grandfather before leaving.

In the garden, he encountered Su Qin.

“Move aside; you’re blocking my way,” Su Yu stated expressionlessly as he looked at Su Qin, who was coldly staring at him.

Su Qin’s expression grew more complex as he coldly stared at Su Yu. He couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable. When had things between them turned into what they were now?

“How’s Xiao Bao(Yuan Bao), Su Yu?” Su Qin asked, unsure of what to say to him.

Su Yu sneered and, without any courtesy, said, “He’s not dead. No need for you to play the grieving act here. If it weren’t for you, would Xiao Bao (Yuan Bao) be like this?”
