“That’s right, isn’t it? Since you already know this, do I still need to continue reminding you?” Wang Jinhe looked seriously at Su Yu and said in a stern tone.
“I’m only like this in front of you, okay?” Su Yu coughed lightly, rubbed his nose, and awkwardly said.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu with an expressionless face and suddenly felt that this guy really had a way with words. He knew she wasn’t happy, yet he suddenly said something like that, which left her at a loss for words.
“Alright, let’s not talk about this.” Su Yu quickly put an end to the conversation. Continuing in this manner would only lead to him losing face.
“By the way, your family…” Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu, hesitating to speak.
She was somewhat curious about how Su Yu was handling this matter and whether it might bring him unnecessary trouble.
“Let’s go for a walk outside,” Su Yu smiled at Wang Jinhe. He knew she was just concerned about him, which was why she asked.
Su Xi watched the two leaving and sighed helplessly. In the future, if they treated Xiao Bao and Xiao He better, perhaps they could mend their relationship with Su Yu. If they treated the two poorly, there would be no chance of reconciling with Su Yu.
“I’ve already separated from the family,” Su Yu said, sitting outside next to the vegetable garden, gazing at the flowers in the garden and speaking softly.
Separated from the family?
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu in surprise and furrowed her brow, saying, “Isn’t it difficult for families like yours to separate? Besides, I remember you saying that you’re responsible for most of the Su family’s assets. Won’t they object if you separate from the family?”
Su Yu shook his head, “They didn’t object. Originally, I intended to hand over most of the Su family’s assets under my control. However, they said they trusted me, so I decided to continue managing them. As for the separation and living independently, everyone in the family knows what’s happening, and even if I separate, no one will criticize me. You can rest assured of that.”
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu and asked, “Have you… really thought this through?”
“Everything has been taken care of. Do you think I’ve thought this through?” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe, his eyes filled with laughter.
“What did your grandfather say?”
“Grandfather is on my side. Besides, in recent years, whenever I went back to the Capital, I stayed in the courtyard I bought. Now, it’s just gone from being a secret to being out in the open,” Su Yu remarked, teasing Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe raised an eyebrow and asked, “How about your parents? What do they think?”
“Of course, they don’t agree, but it’s not up to them to decide whether they agree or not. Everyone in the family has agreed, and my grandfather has given his approval. No matter how much they disagree, their opposition is futile.”
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu for a while before smiling and shaking her head. “You’re quite cunning. You rely on the approval of your family members and don’t seem to care about your parents.”
“I used to care about them, but what happened in the end? This situation now is quite good.”
Wang Jinhe didn’t press further and instead offered her support. “Since you put it that way, I have nothing more to say. As long as you think it’s the right decision.”
“I mainly thought that once you and I move over there, given her personality, you might not have a good time. If we live separately and have our own lives, you’ll be more at ease,” Su Yu explained to Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu in astonishment. He severed their relationship and separated from the the family in order to ensure their safety for when they finally made their relationship open to all. In that case, whether they separated their families or not was actually crucial, was it?
“Do you know? When my subordinates found out why I did this, they accused me of being captivated by beauty,” Su Yu chuckled and shrugged, recalling how some of his subordinates had teased him.
It seemed that these guys were becoming less and less afraid of him. They dared to make fun of him in such situations.
Wang Jinhe was surprised and said, “Your subordinates are quite daring. Is it because you’ve been lenient with them?”
“It’s not that I’ve been overly lenient; they’re just envious. They are older than me but still unmarried. Not to mention getting married, they don’t even have a girlfriend yet. Can you imagine how frustrated they must be?” Su Yu asked.
Wang Jinhe chuckled when he saw Su Yu’s earnest expression. “Aren’t you worried that your subordinates might go on strike after hearing you mocking them like this?”
Su Yu decisively shook his head. “I’m not worried. After all, only the two of us know about this. As long as you don’t tell them, there won’t be any problems, right?”
Wang Jinhe laughed and said, “Have you forgotten about Yuan Bao and Yuan Xu, who are with you? They know about this, don’t they?”
Su Yu blinked and cleared his throat. “Oh, I forgot about those two. But you can rest assured, they’re good at keeping secrets. They won’t say anything they shouldn’t.”
Yuan Bao and Yuan Xu, who had overheard the conversation, exchanged a look and decided to tell others about it. They couldn’t tolerate being openly mocked, even if they were indeed a bit envious.
Su Yu turned to look at Yuan Bao and Yuan Xu and sighed, “It seems like I made a mistake.”
Wang Jinhe asked with curiosity, “What did you do wrong?”
“These two guys are definitely planning to share this with others. Do you think I made a mistake?” Su Yu lamented.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu and, after a while, laughed and said, “What’s this? This is what you deserve, reaping what you sowed. You mocked them, and this is what you get. It’s your just desserts.”
“Are you helping them to bully me, my dear?” Su Yu looked displeased. They were to become a married couple, and he didn’t expect his wife to join in. He suddenly felt his heart go cold.
“Quit pretending, I can see that you’re enjoying this,” Wang Jinhe said with a serious expression while scrutinizing Su Yu.
Su Yu pointed at himself. “You say I’m enjoying this? When have I ever enjoyed it?”
This was just nonsense.
“Let’s have Yuan Bao start looking for a location for the store once he’s better,” Wang Jinhe said to Su Yu, ending the trivial conversation.
“Alright.” Su Yu agreed.
Upon hearing that they had a task to perform, Yuan Bao hurried over and asked, “What would you like us to do, Young Master and Young Madam?”
“Also, what kind of store are you looking for?”
“We’re looking for a location with high foot traffic, suitable for selling vegetables,” Wang Jinhe explained.
“Are you planning to grow and sell vegetables, Young Madam?” Yuan Bao asked, looking surprised.
Wang Jinhe nodded with a smile, “Yes, is that surprising to you?”
“Not surprising at all. I just think that your idea is excellent. We believe that the vegetables you grow will be of very high quality,” Yuan Bao replied.
