Rebirth of Wang Baochuan: The Prime Minister’s Cherished Gem Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Trust Me, I Know This Place

“Wait.” Wang Baochuan’s legs went weak, she didn’t understand what was happening.

“Who are you?”

“Ha! If it weren’t for you, our princess wouldn’t have suffered in prison!” He glared at her, raising his sword to strike.

Of course, he was just trying to scare her. Wang Baochuan was, after all, the daughter of the Prime Minister. If they captured her and secretly took her back to Xiliang, it would be more useful than killing her.

Wang Baochuan didn’t know his true intentions, and she was so frightened by the gleaming blade that her legs gave way and she collapsed to the ground.

The man didn’t show any sign of stopping, instead, he brandished his sword over her white neck, ready to strike.

Just as the situation was about to turn critical, a “whoosh” sound was heard, and a light, double-feathered arrow shot through the air!

The arrow pierced straight through the chest of the man in black, blood spurted out, splattering Wang Baochuan’s face.

Snow Lion?  Could the person who came be Bai Yu!

He was riding Snow Lion, holding a bow in his hand. As the arrow left the bowstring, the assassin beside her fell to the ground.

Bai Yu underestimated the Xiliang assassins’ determination to deal with Wang Baochuan. They had been ambushed in the dense forest, nearly a hundred of them.

Seeing that he could only escape, Bai Yu galloped past, grabbed Wang Baochuan, and threw her onto the horse’s back.

“Come with me!”

“Chase! Kill Wang Baochuan!”

The men in black followed closely behind, seeing that they couldn’t kidnap her, they decided to kill her.

Wang Baochuan was still terrified, “Turn left ahead! Go through the forest!”

Bai Yu had no time to think, he followed her instructions and galloped away. The men in black were in hot pursuit, the situation was becoming increasingly dangerous.

Wang Baochuan suddenly grabbed his sleeve, “Mr. Bai, there’s a cliff ahead.”

Bai Yu quickly pulled on the reins, “You’re so familiar with this place, why are you running towards it?”

The men in black were closing in, Bai Yu pulled Wang Baochuan off the horse.

This was the end.  He couldn’t believe that he, the third prince, would die at the hands of Xiliang assassins outside the capital, under the Emperor’s rule!

He protected Wang Baochuan, turning to comfort her, “Don’t be afraid, even if you die, you’ll die after me.”

He had received a secret report saying that there were traces of Xiliang spies in the capital, and then he heard his attendants mention that Wang Baochuan was going out of the city to offer incense today.  He was worried, so he brought his men to follow her secretly, but he didn’t expect to find an ambush halfway through.

Asong went to get help, and A Zheng helped him distract the other assassins.  In this critical moment, he could only show himself and rescue Wang Baochuan.

At this point, there was no point in thinking too much, he could only fight to the death.

He was about to step forward when Wang Baochuan suddenly walked closer, grabbing his sleeve tightly, “Mr. Bai, do you trust me?”

“Yes.” He nodded without hesitation.

“Good.”

Wang Baochuan glanced at the group of men in black who were approaching, and she forcefully pulled Bai Yu back to the edge of the cliff.

“Wang Baochuan! Just surrender quietly, and we’ll let this man go.”

The leader of the men in black shouted.

Wang Baochuan was hesitating when Bai Yu cursed back, “Dream on!”

“This is the suburbs, the city guards will arrive any minute, you’re not escaping now, you’re only waiting for death!”

“Ha! You’re still putting up a fight when you’re about to die!”

“Fire!”

More than ten archers, fired their arrows in unison.

Wang Baochuan suddenly pushed Bai Yu off the cliff, and she jumped down after him.

The cliff was deep, shrouded in clouds and mist, it seemed bottomless.

Falling from such a height, they would be crippled if they didn’t die.

Seeing this, the men in black were about to flee.  They had only left the cliff for a few hundred meters when they were caught by the city guards brought by Asong.

After a fierce battle, countless men in black were killed or injured, and the few remaining survivors, unwilling to be captured, bit their tongues and committed suicide.

Asong led his men to the cliff, but they only saw Snow Lion standing there alone, there was no sign of the master or the third Miss Wang.
