Chapter 11: Confrontation 1
Lu Jingchen’s tone was flat, but Qin Ruyan could hear a hint of dominance in it.
She didn’t say anything.
Zhang Qiyao didn’t think much of it, assuming her brother was just deliberately trying to get on her nerves today.
She walked forward and tugged on Lu Jingchen’s arm, “Brother, you can drop off Yanyanfirst and then me, okay? Yanyan and I can chat in the car.”
Lu Jingchen glanced at Zhang Qiyao’s hand gripping his clothes, and said with disdain, “Talk properly, let go first.”
He had a slight germ phobia.
Zhang Qiyao almost forgot about her brother’s picky cleanliness, and quickly withdrew her hand.
Lu Jingchen lowered his head, seemingly lost in thought, and then looked up after a while.
“Let’s go.”
He walked towards the exit, followed by Qin Ruyan, who was looking down and being led by Zhang Qiyao.
Lu Jingchen was driving the same car Zhang Qiyao had picked her up in that morning.
Zhang Qiyao opened the car door and sat in the back seat with Qin Ruyan.
Lu Jingchen chuckled softly, opened the driver’s door, threw away the unlit cigarette in his hand, and got in.
As he started the car, he glanced in the rearview mirror.
“Miss Qin, address?”
He was concise, and Qin Ruyan gave him a location before falling silent again.
Lu Jingchen’s gaze occasionally drifted to the rearview mirror.
The person he had been thinking about for eight years was now very close to him, chatting with his sister.
He tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
Qin Ruyan was a little confused. Zhang Qiyao and her brother? One surnamed Lu, the other surnamed Zhang?
Zhang Qiyao lowered her voice and spoke from the back.
“YanYan, don’t be fooled by my brother’s cold demeanor. He has a lot of girls chasing after him. You wouldn’t believe it, because I took my mother’s surname and he took our father’s, people outside don’t know, and I’ve been used as a shield by my brother many times.”
There was a hint of dissatisfaction in Zhang Qiyao’s voice, but she added, “However, every time I help him, he transfers me some allowance.”
Qin Ruyan didn’t expect this, she hadn’t even asked, and Zhang Qiyao had already explained it to her.
“So you and your brother have a good relationship, and your parents have a good relationship too.”
After all, it’s rare for children to take their mother’s last name. She didn’t know why, but it seemed to be like that all the time. There were cases, but very few.
The two of them kept muttering behind, deliberately lowering their voices. Lu Jingchen tried his best but still couldn’t hear anything.
Half an hour later, they arrived at Qin’s villa.
Lu Jingchen glanced sideways.
Qin Chaoyang.
He knew him, he had even asked him for investment before. He was a pretty honest and well-regarded middle-aged entrepreneur, just not very large in scale.
Qin Ruyan saw her uncle’s house and said goodbye to Zhang Qiyao.
Then she looked ahead, thought for a moment and also thanked Lu Jingchen.
“Thank you, Mr. Lu, for today.”
Lu Jingchen raised an eyebrow, did she know him? But he didn’t ask further, “Miss Qin, you’re welcome. Since Miss Qin is a friend of Yao Yao, you are naturally also my friend.”
Qin Ruyan didn’t respond to that, she thanked him again, got out of the car and walked towards home.
Lu Jingchen watched her back until she went inside and closed the door, then he turned the steering wheel and drove in another direction.
Zhang Qiyao had automatically sat in the passenger seat when Qin Ruyan got out of the car, she didn’t have the guts to use her brother as a driver.
“Zhang Qiyao,” Lu Jingchen spoke slowly.
He rarely called her by her full name, Zhang Qiyao trembled, she managed to squeeze out a smile, “Brother, how can you call your precious little sister by her full name, you only have me as your sister!”
Lu Jingchen didn’t speak, he glanced at her, “Sit properly.”
