Jiang Ning smiled and said, “No, I really enjoy cooking.”

Shen Mo treated her sincerely, and she wouldn’t just do nothing in return. How they got along was a mutual effort.

She couldn’t take advantage of Shen Mo’s kindness and bully him.

After touring the house, Shen Mo came over to Jiang Ning and said, “Let’s go to the department store to buy some things. You can buy whatever you need.”

Jiang Ning responded with a simple “Okay.”

The house already had the basic furniture, but they still needed to buy some daily necessities. Even just buying these items would be a big task.

After locking the door and leaving the family courtyard, they got back into the car they had driven over.

When they arrived at the department store, Jiang Ning had a list in mind. She had already thought about what she needed to buy.

The area around the mall was bustling with people. Jiang Ning walked ahead, and Shen Mo stayed a step behind, extending his hand to protect her.

He didn’t place his hand on Jiang Ning but just raised it slightly to block the flow of people around them.

Entering the department store, they asked the security personnel for directions and headed straight to the household goods section.

Jiang Ning bought a lot of items like pots, pans, bowls, spoons, towels, and toiletries.

To live comfortably, these daily necessities were essential.

After buying a pile of things, all paid for by Shen Mo, they couldn’t carry any more.

However, Jiang Ning was holding lighter items, while Shen Mo was carrying heavier things like pots and pans.

After buying these, their daily necessities were pretty much covered.

With their hands full, they loaded the items into the car. Just as Jiang Ning was about to open the passenger door, someone grabbed her wrist.

A man’s voice came from behind her, “Wait.”

Jiang Ning turned around, puzzled, and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I’ll take you to buy some clothes and skincare products. Girls can’t do without these,” Shen Mo said, withdrawing his hand as she turned to look at him. His expression remained stoic, but the warmth from her wrist made him clench his hand.

Shen Mo’s younger sister in the countryside often asked him to buy these things and send them over. She had even educated him that girls love to wear pretty clothes and that skincare products can keep their skin fair and smooth.

Jiang Ning was very fair-skinned, and Shen Mo didn’t want to see her living poorly because of him.

Jiang Ning had only planned to buy daily necessities today. As for clothes, she intended to go shopping on her own when she had time later.

Women were generally more interested in shopping, while for men, being asked to go shopping was like asking for their life.

But this man was different from what she had imagined.

However, how did he, a big man, know about skincare products?

Could it be that he had liked someone else before?

Shaking off these thoughts, she realized that whether he had or not, it had nothing to do with her.

Jiang Ning felt inexplicably restless. Since Shen Mo had brought it up, she decided to take a look.

She had long been dissatisfied with her current clothes, which had a strong rural vibe and looked very outdated.

Returning to the department store, Shen Mo led Jiang Ning directly to the third floor.

Seeing how familiar he was with the place, Jiang Ning didn’t bother asking the security guard for directions.

It was clear that he was quite familiar with this area.

The third floor was dedicated to clothing, with various brands offering a wide range of options that could easily overwhelm anyone.

Shopping was a girl’s nature, and Jiang Ning instantly forgot her restlessness as she saw the dazzling array of clothes.

After wandering around the third floor, they finally settled on a women’s clothing section.

The salesperson was busy attending to other customers and, noticing Jiang Ning’s outdated attire, chose not to approach her immediately.

Jiang Ning entered the store, while Shen Mo stayed near the cashier, not following her inside. The store was filled with women trying on clothes, and it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to be there.

After looking around, Jiang Ning quickly selected two outfits and headed towards the fitting room. She spotted a display of women’s belts and picked one that matched the color scheme of her chosen skirt.

She waited for the previous customer to finish trying on clothes before entering the fitting room.

Inside the fitting room, she undressed and put on the dress, fastening the belt around her waist.

Thinking for a moment, she untied her two braids and let them fall loosely behind her.

Dressed in her new outfit, Jiang Ning stepped out and twirled in front of the mirror.

Yes, she was very satisfied.

Quickly, she went back inside to change into the second outfit. This one consisted of a floral blouse on top and a red mermaid skirt on the bottom.

Jiang Ning had a great figure, and the clothes she wore caught the eye of other customers who were still browsing.

They all stared at her as she selected her clothes.

Jiang Ning picked out a few more outfits and was about to try them on when the salesperson suddenly called out to her, “Comrade, if you can’t buy that many, don’t keep trying them on. We still need to sell these clothes, and if they get dirty, how can we sell them?”

Jiang Ning was puzzled.

Isn’t it normal to try on clothes before buying them? How would she know which ones fit and which ones don’t without trying them on?

At that moment, the salesperson had already categorized Jiang Ning as someone who would try on clothes but not buy them. The salesperson had seen many customers who were very frugal when it came to buying clothes and didn’t believe that Jiang Ning would purchase so many.

Jiang Ning was just there to buy clothes and didn’t want to argue. It seemed that in every era, there were people who judged others based on their appearance.

Jiang Ning thought for a moment and said, “Please pack the dress I just tried on.”

By saying this, she indicated that she was sure about buying it.

Sure enough, the salesperson’s expression immediately changed, as if a spring breeze had swept through. “Alright, I’ll pack it for you right away.”

Jiang Ning continued to try on the other clothes. The salesperson packed the dress and placed it at the cashier, waiting for Jiang Ning to finish trying on the rest of the clothes. Suddenly, a hand holding money vouchers was extended over.

The salesperson looked up and was momentarily stunned to see Shen Mo. “These are the clothes my wife chose. I’ll pay for them.”

The man in front of her had an imposing presence, and his deep, eagle-like eyes made her feel a bit suffocated.

Shen Mo had noticed how the salesperson had been giving Jiang Ning a hard time earlier.

His face remained expressionless, and his tone was calm. “She tries on one, she buys one.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Ning came out wearing another outfit. The clothes she tried on seemed as if they were custom-made for her.

Shen Mo’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and his dark eyes flickered with a burning flame.

There was only one thought in his mind.

Buy her more beautiful clothes.

“Yes, of course,” the female salesperson swallowed nervously and took the money vouchers from his hand.
