Chapter 25: A Forced Kiss

Lu Jingchen stood by the bedroom curtains, his heart sinking at the thought of her outright rejection.

He could chase after her if she rejected him.

But Qin Ruyuan had deleted the WeChat contact she had just added today and didn’t reply to his messages. Lu Jingchen was so angry that the veins on his hands were bulging.

She had promised to think it over when they parted. But she deleted his contact information and ignored his messages.

Lu Jingchen frowned. Was he too gentle? Should he be tougher?

He saw some girls online saying they liked rich and domineering CEOs.

He was rich, wasn’t he? At least he was the richest in Beijing. Was he not domineering enough? Should he take a more forceful approach?

He didn’t feel this anxious when he was signing billion-dollar contracts with others at the negotiating table.

After a long time, he took out his phone, pressed the shortcut key 2 to dial out, and called Chen Zhong.

“Mr. Lu,”

As Lu Jingchen’s special assistant, Chen Zhong was on call 24 hours a day. It never took him more than ten seconds to answer his phone.

“Help me check someone’s itinerary,” Lu Jingchen remembered that Qin Ruyuan had said she was going on a business trip in a couple of days, and his sister seemed to be going with her?

He furrowed his brow. Should he find her before she left on the trip, or find a way to prevent Yao Yao from going and go to her destination to find her?

Lu Jingchen only hesitated for a second before giving instructions to the person on the other end of the phone.

“Find a way to make sure Qin Chaoyang and his wife, along with Qin Shi, can’t go home tomorrow.”

He wanted to act quickly and decisively, before things got out of hand.

Chen Zhong’s mind was buzzing. What was his boss up to? Was he unhappy with Qin Pharmaceutical? Was he going to target Qin Pharmaceutical?

But Lu’s company had invested in Qin Pharmaceutical last year.

His boss’s mind was truly unfathomable, but money was even harder to earn. His annual salary and bonus at Lu’s company were about seven figures, and many people under him were already coveting his position. He could only reluctantly get out of bed and do his boss’s bidding.

To make sure Qin Chaoyang and his wife were away from home for a day, and preferably under his nose, the only option was to invite them to Lu’s company.

“I won’t be at the company tomorrow. You take care of Qin Chaoyang and his family. Try to stall them as long as possible.”

Lu Jingchen arranged everything, went to the bed, and prepared to take a shower, but a feeling of anger lingered in his heart.

He got up, poured himself a glass of cold water, drank it in one gulp, and went back to the bed, pulling back the covers and lying down.

Early the next morning, Qin Chaoyang received a call from Chen Zhong, inviting the whole family to Lu’s company.

He was a little confused.

Lu’s company had invited their family before, but that was last year. And Qin Pharmaceutical had a drug research project that Lu’s company had invested heavily in. In a way, Lu’s company was Qin Pharmaceutical’s investor.

Qin Chaoyang called Qin Shi, who had already returned home.

“I don’t know if this is a honey trap or an olive branch from Lu’s company.”

Qin Shi walked in and began to analyze the situation.

Qin Ruyuan just came downstairs and heard that. The hand holding the railing tightened.

Yesterday, she had just deleted Lu Jingchen, and this morning Qin Shi was talking about Lu’s company looking for them. Was it because Lu Jingchen felt his self-esteem had been challenged?

Qin Ruyuan lowered her eyelashes and slowly walked down the stairs.

“Brother, what’s wrong?”

Qin Chaoyang turned to look at her, opening his mouth. He didn’t plan to take Qin Ruyuan, what if Lu Jingchen was there…

“It’s fine, Lu Corporation invited us to visit. Qin Corporation has a drug research project, and Lu Corporation has invested a lot of money in this project. It’s about time we go to Lu Corporation and inform them about the project progress.”

Qin Chaoyang’s tone was light, but Qin Ruyan felt something was off. She pursed her lips, wanting to say she would go with them.

Qin Chaoyang spoke first, “Your aunt, your brother, and I will go and be back soon. You have a business trip tomorrow, so rest well at home.”

Qin Ruyan didn’t say anything, just nodded. She watched Qin Chaoyang and the others leave the house.

Qin Ruyan went back to her bedroom and changed clothes. She went downstairs and sat on the sofa.

She had only been sitting for a short while when the doorbell rang.

She got up and walked towards the door, mumbling as she opened it, “Did I forget something…”?

Before she could finish, she saw Lu Jingchen standing at the door, his expression displeased, staring at her. She thought it was his uncle and aunt who had forgotten something, so she didn’t pay attention and opened the door. But now, seeing Lu Jingchen standing in front of her, she didn’t think twice and stepped back to close the door. Her actions were faster than her thoughts, instinctively wanting to distance herself from him.

Lu Jingchen had arrived a little earlier, waiting on the side road. He only came out after personally confirming that Qin Chaoyang and the others had left.

As a result, Qin Ruyan saw him, and instead of feeling embarrassed for deleting his WeChat, she became even more determined to close the door and keep him out.

Lu Jingchen’s lips were tightly pressed together. Taking advantage of his long legs and strength, he effortlessly squeezed in and locked the door.

Seeing him enter, Qin Ruyan stepped back. She spoke unnaturally,

“Brother Lu.”

Lu Jingchen snorted. With his long legs, he took two or three steps and stood in front of her, grabbing her wrist.

“Why did you delete my WeChat and not reply to my message?”

His tone was a bit cold and forceful. Qin Ruyan felt a little uneasy, but since it had already happened, she might as well resolve it once and for all.

“I think Brother Lu should understand what I mean.”

She raised her head, trying to keep her voice calm.

Lu Jingchen’s eyes deepened, his grip on her wrist tightened a bit.

Qin Ruyan was struck dumb, standing there like she had been struck by lightning. Her eyes widened, her body stiffened. Lu Jingchen held her chin, and she instinctively opened her mouth, only to be met with his even more passionate kiss.

Qin Ruyan reacted and struggled, but the more she struggled, the harder Lu Jingchen kissed her. When she could no longer breathe and was about to fall, Lu Jingchen finally released her.

The next second, Qin Ruyan pushed him away. She wanted to raise her hand and slap him, but thinking of Qin Chaoyang being at Lu Corporation, she held back.

“Lu Jingchen, I respect you as Yao Yao’s brother, and I call you Brother Lu. How could you do this to me!”

Qin Ruyan reached out and wiped her lips fiercely, her eyes red with anger, but not a single tear fell. She wanted to wipe away the traces of his breath left on her lips.

Lu Jingchen, whose expression had softened a little, became gloomy again because of her actions.

“Try wiping it again, and I’ll kiss you again.”

Qin Ruyan looked up, and he didn’t seem to be joking.

She lowered her hands, letting them hang by her sides, her nails digging into her palms.
