Chapter 35: Hotel Encounter 3

Qin Ruyan watched in disbelief as Zhang Qiyao walked away with her luggage, not even looking back.

She stood there for a long time, unable to process what had just happened.

“What are you thinking about?” Lu Jingchen grabbed her wrist, his other hand pushing her luggage, leading her towards the elevator.

Qin Ruyan struggled briefly, “Let go of me first.”

Lu Jingchen pressed the button for the 28th floor, turning his head to look at her, raising an eyebrow.

“Why aren’t you calling me Big Brother Lu anymore?” He knew from the beginning that she was just being polite, saying they would be friends first. She was still subconsciously avoiding him.

Qin Ruyan pursed her lips. He wouldn’t let go, and she couldn’t break free, so she gave up.

She reached out to take off her jacket, and Lu Jingchen saw her movement, his eyelids fluttering slightly as he spoke calmly.

“I advise you not to take off your clothes.”

Qin Ruyan was taken aback, looking at him. She realized his eyes were fixed on her, and following his gaze, she looked down.

His eyes were staring straight at her waist.

Qin Ruyan understood, her face flushed red.

“You’re shameless!”

Lu Jingchen chuckled, taking two steps forward, trapping her in his arms.

“How could I have imagined you would be wearing something so revealing?”

How was she revealing? It was summer, and she was wearing long pants and a short-sleeved shirt, only revealing a small bit of her waist. There were plenty of people on the street showing their arms and legs, her outfit was actually quite modest.

“Why didn’t you let go of me earlier? Yaoyao must have misunderstood.”

She was a bit anxious. She had planned to explain things to Zhang Qiyao once they got to the room, but she hadn’t expected Lu Jingchen to be there, catching her off guard.

Lu Jingchen smiled.

“Misunderstood? Misunderstood what? Your best friend becoming your sister-in-law, she’ll be thrilled.”

Qin Ruyan pursed her lips. He was standing in front of her now, his head lowered, and she could smell the faint scent of tobacco on him.

Lu Jingchen’s eyes were fixed on her, and she didn’t say anything, so he just continued to look at her.

“Ding!” The elevator doors opened.

He released his hold on her, pulling her wrist with one hand and pushing her luggage with the other, leading her directly into his room.

It was 7 pm, even in summer, with the curtains closed and the lights off, the room was very dark.

Lu Jingchen opened the door and put the room card back in his pocket. He didn’t insert the card, and the room remained dark.

Qin Ruyan was a bit nervous now. She couldn’t see Lu Jingchen’s face, but she knew he was looking at her.

Lu Jingchen didn’t say anything, taking her jacket from her and throwing it on the bed.

“Can you turn on the light?”

She had already been brought into the room, and Qin Ruyan just wanted to communicate with him calmly.

“Big Brother Lu, you promised me you wouldn’t force me.”

Lu Jingchen chuckled.

“Yan’er, your clothes are so short, your waist is exposed. If I turn on the light, I’m afraid just looking at you will make me react.”

Lu Jingchen spoke frankly, then added slowly,

“Besides, am I forcing you? I was just worried about your exposed waist getting cold and you catching a cold, so I gave you my jacket. Isn’t that kind of me?”

He leaned against the wall, lowering his head slightly. Even if he couldn’t see her clearly, he could still picture the soft, white curve of her waist in his mind.

Qin Ruyan stood frozen, her mind racing, but she couldn’t think of a solution.

“I need to contact Yaoyao. She came with me, and you just scared her away.”

Lu Jingchen chuckled. He pulled out his room key from his pocket, turned around, and inserted it.

The room was suddenly flooded with light, and Qin Ruyan closed her eyes slightly, unable to adjust.

Lu Jingchen lowered his head and gently covered her eyes with his hand.

“Open your eyes, let them adjust for a bit. I’ll remove my hand when it’s better.”

Qin Ruyan waited for about ten seconds before saying, “It’s okay now.”

Lu Jingchen removed his hand from her eyelids, and Qin Ruyan opened her eyes. She saw Lu Jingchen looking at her with a hint of amusement.

Instinctively, she stepped back, only to realize she was already against the wall.

“I need to call Yaoyao!”

Her tone was unusually firm, and Lu Jingchen raised an eyebrow. He took out his phone from his bag, dialed a number, and put it on speaker.

The call connected after about ten seconds, and Zhang Qiyao’s slightly breathless voice came through the phone.

“Brother, I…” Then, a rustling sound came from the other end.

Lu Jingchen hung up the phone without a word.

Qin Ruyan was stunned.

“Did something happen to Yaoyao? Why did you hang up?”

She was worried, her face flushed, and her eyes were slightly wet.

Lu Jingchen placed the phone on the side, looked at her, and smiled mischievously.

“Don’t you remember what I said before she left? Are you trying to interrupt Yaoyao and her fiancé’s time together?”

They were close, the distance between them was intimate.

The words that came out of Lu Jingchen’s mouth were also intimate.

Qin Ruyan lowered her eyelashes, she had to think of another way to solve this problem.

Seeing her head lowered, Lu Jingchen placed his hand on her waist.

Qin Ruyan instantly raised her head, just as she was about to speak, she was stopped by the desire in Lu Jingchen’s eyes.

Lu Jingchen didn’t say anything, but he didn’t remove his hand either.

The two stood there for a while, until finally, he broke the silence.

“I regret it. Three months is too long. I don’t want to wait a single day.”

He tightened his grip on her waist.

Qin Ruyan felt his hand pressing against her waist, it was a little itchy, and a little painful.

Qin Ruyan raised her eyes slightly, her eyes were misty and wet as she looked at him.

Lu Jingchen’s throat moved involuntarily, his voice was slightly hoarse when he spoke again.

“Don’t look at me like that, I told you I would react.”

Qin Ruyan was surprised that he would say something like that, she just stood there.

Lu Jingchen calmed down slightly before speaking.

“I don’t want to wait, I can’t wait even for a moment. Do you really not like me, Ruyan?”

He reached out, placed his hand on the back of her head, and pressed her against the wall. Their foreheads touched.

Qin Ruyan could hear her own heartbeat getting faster and faster.

After a long time, she finally spoke softly, “Yes, I don’t like you.”
