The Farming Family’s Precious Darling: A Sweet Little Lucky Charm at Home Chapter 75

Chapter 75: The Consequences Came Too Soon

It wasn’t just Old Man Chen who saw what happened—several villagers who happened to pass by also witnessed the scene.

“Yes, yes, he definitely hit his own mother!”

“That’s right, that’s right!”

“Jiang family? They claim to be a scholarly family, but all I see is a vile woman and a scoundrel!”

“Exactly, exactly!”

Old Tan and Wan Chunmei had originally planned to escalate the situation to embarrass the Tan family. But they hadn’t considered where Fengping Village was.

Since the time when Old Tan had shared wild boar meat, most of the villagers had developed a favorable impression of the Tan family. Moreover, they all despised people who acted arrogantly just because they had a bit of wealth.

the eldest son of the Jiang family , feeling isolated, had no choice but to stop causing trouble. He quickly supported his mother and left to find a doctor.

While the villagers were not pleased with the Jiang family, they still didn’t want anyone to die, so they reluctantly took the Jiang family to see Doctor Li.

Meanwhile, Tan Xiaomei breathed a sigh of relief.

Tan Xiaomei ran out, crying as she said, “Sister-in-law, thank you so much for today!”

Wan Chunmei took her hand and said, “Little sister, I’m telling you, don’t always be crying when you face people like that. Some people only bully the weak, but if you act strong, they’ll back down. That coward just now—if he hits you, you hit him back, and not just once, you hit him harder. Let’s see if he dares to touch you again!”

Tan Xiaomei wiped her tears and nodded.

Wan Chunmei gently wiped her face with her sleeve, her tone softening. “But don’t worry, that boy will never have the chance to hurt you again.”

“Mother, it’s done.”

Tan Sanyuan came in holding the divorce letter.

Wan Chunmei took it from him and read through it. Although there were a few characters she didn’t recognize, she could still understand it. She nodded approvingly. “Not bad, not bad. Sanyuan, you did well.”

Wan Chunmei handed the divorce letter to Tan Xiaomei. “Hold on to this, and when the time comes, make that scoundrel sign it.”

Tan Xiaomei nodded. “Yes, sister-in-law.”

Wan Chunmei hugged her tightly. “Alright, let’s go inside.”

“Yes, let’s go inside.” Old Tan nodded. “That woman’s hurt badly, and now she probably won’t have the energy to trouble us. Let’s just continue with what we were doing.”

The family went inside.

Little Qiyue immediately reached out her arms when she saw them enter.

Wan Chunmei quickly picked her up. “Is our little lucky star hungry?”

Little Qiyue shook her head and waved her hand.

Wan Chunmei smiled and was about to lift her shirt to nurse when Little Qiyue unexpectedly reached out and gently touched Tan Xiaomei’s face, almost as though she were trying to comfort her.

Tan Xiaomei was taken aback for a moment, but she didn’t think much of it and embraced Little Qiyue in her arms.

Meanwhile, at Dr. Li’s house, Old Lady Jiang was writhing in pain, wailing loudly, “Oh! This really might take my life! Doctor, doctor, please save me!”

Dr. Li, a man of keen understanding, had already heard the villagers’ version of events when the two arrived. He wasn’t inclined to show them any kindness.

Without hesitation, he applied the medicine to her wounds, causing Old Lady Jiang  to roll on the floor from the intense pain.

He spoke coldly, “If you keep moving, the bleeding won’t stop, and in a few hours, you might not make it.”

Upon hearing this,  Old Lady Jiang  gritted her teeth and endured the pain as Dr. Li continued to dress her wounds.

the eldest son of the Jiang family  sat beside her, still shaken, and after a long while, muttered, “Mother, I really ran into a ghost today. The ground didn’t seem slippery, how did I fall?”

Old Lady Jiang  glared at him. “Ghosts? What ghosts? There was water on the ground. Can’t you see?”

the eldest son of the Jiang family  hesitated, starting to doubt himself. Was there water? Why hadn’t he noticed it earlier?

Just then, Dr. Li spoke again, his voice cutting through the air, “Has Madam Jiang had any other illnesses?”
