“You’re even fooling the body?”
“Me?”
“Yeah, you.”
I opened my eyes wide and looked at Chase. No matter how much Leoruka tried to impress Chase, would he have called a dog a wolf? He probably just didn’t say anything specific! There’s a huge difference between lying and not saying anything.
“That can’t be true! Since my family is a wolf family, you just assumed it was a mistake…”
“You are a black panther, and I am a giant wolf, so we look good together!
This is what you said, right…?”
I guess I lied… Did you really think I wouldn’t find out until the end? Leoruka…
“So, where is the big one?”
Chase looked me up and down and grinned. His eyes were so unpleasant that I thought he was mocking me. I felt bad inside and replied grumpily.
“It’s going to be huge in the future. It’s just that it hasn’t fully grown yet”
“Aren’t you all grown up? Aren’t you 20 years old?”
“If you calculate 7 years in human years as 1 year in dog years, it’s just turned 3.”
“…The calculation is strange. Isn’t it backwards?”
“Anyway, it’s because he’s still a baby!”
“Are you crazy? How dare you look like a baby? Do you want to say something like that with your own mouth?”
Chase’s brow furrowed as if he was disgusted by even the word baby. At 20, he’s still a child. What’s wrong with that? He’s four years younger than Chase!
I pout my lower lip inwardly, feeling dissatisfied, but I still seize the opportunity to speak earnestly.
“Anyway, you see? I’m not a wolf. I’m a puppy, and just by looking at my body size, I don’t think I’ll be a good match for you, so I guess I’ll have to break our love contract…”
“Break contract?”
The temperature plummeted again.
Unlike a moment ago, there was no harsh pheromone surging about. However, Chase’s eyes, which had lost their expression in an instant, were so cold that it was almost scary.
His long fingers moved slowly and tapped the table. Each time his pale apricot-colored fingertips touched the table, a light tapping sound was heard.
I swallowed hard and looked up at him nervously.
Finally, Chase asked with a twisted mouth… Grumbling…
“What are your intentions? If you tell me to quit, am I going to have to cling to you and beg you? Is that why you want to enjoy it?”
“That’s not it!”
After thinking for a while, I realized that this was all I could say. No matter how twisted it was, why did I have to take it that far? It’s not like I have any bad tastes, I was so upset that I clenched my fist and pounded the table.
“It’s exactly as I said before! I have amnesia, right? I forgot my feelings for you, so I don’t want to date, and I want to pretend that night never happened. But a contract is a contract, so I’ll keep supporting you! Seriously, I’m just saying let’s break the dating contract!”
“Are you asking me to believe that, now?”
Didn’t we have the same conversation a little while ago? Did I regress this time? I was dying from the pain of repeating what I had said 10 minutes ago like a loop. I didn’t know it would be this hard to disappear gracefully from Chase’s life.
“You can never break a contract.”
“What…?”
I never knew that breaking up with a contractual lover who hates me so much would be this hard. Surely this isn’t the damn ‘power of the original’, right? The original hasn’t even started yet!
“No, why don’t you do it?”
“How can I trust you and cancel the contract? I wonder what you’ll do next.”
“What did I do… Why can’t you trust me like this?”
“If you were me, would you believe me?”
“What’s wrong with me?”
“I don’t know, but you’re Leoruca, Leoruca del Caesar.”
“…You know it well. Right?”
You damn bastard… How did you know? Now that I think about it. I had forgotten for a moment. Right now, I was Leoruca del Caesar, the villainous sub-student of this world.
When I showed signs of flinching, Chase kept sneering at me as if telling me to look at it.
“Have you forgotten what you used to do?”
No matter how scared I am of Chase, if he keeps whining like this, I can squirm. I got angry and slammed both my fists on the table.
“I told you I forgot… I told you I had amnesia… It’s true!”
“…”
Chase raised one eyebrow and looked down at me without saying a word. His gaze was very… murderous.
“What I mean is… I made a mistake. I don’t remember what happened before, and it’s not so much amnesia as…”
“okay.”
Chase took my words indifferently as I lowered my head and tried to make an excuse. W hen I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye, I saw that he was always looking down at me as if he was going to devour me, but he was leisurely drinking his coffee.
The long, dense eyelashes cast beautiful shadows around the eyes. The appearance was so elegant that I wondered if Chase’s body was really a black panther. Could it be an elegant swan or a deer?
“Speak properly. If you want to become leopard food, then just say something stupid like amnesia again.”
I think it’s a black panther.
As for my temper… I quickly lost my cool at Chase’s cold and aggressive attitude. What should I do now that I’ve been denied amnesia? I tried to rack my brain, but my stiff head wouldn’t work well in a crisis situation.
No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t come up with a good excuse, so I mumbled and confessed the truth with a feeling of giving up.
“No, that’s not it. Have you ever heard of time travel…?”
