When Jiang Ning read the novel, she viewed the original character from a god-like perspective and felt indignant on her behalf.

But now, it seemed that the original character was also weak and didn’t dare to ask Shen Mo for a divorce.

Jiang Ning glanced at the watch counter, which displayed Diamond brand watches.

“There,” Shen Mo said as he finished putting the watch on her. He looked at her jade-like hand and then her expression. “It looks good.”

It wasn’t clear if he was praising the watch or her.

Shen Mo had always felt that Jiang Ning had a scholarly air about her, like the temperament of someone who had been immersed in knowledge for years. The watch suited her well.

Jiang Ning’s thoughts stirred, and she pointed to one of the watches on the counter. “Please take that one out.”

The salesperson retrieved the watch.

Jiang Ning picked up the watch with one hand and grabbed Shen Mo’s arm with the other, lifting it up.

Shen Mo’s dark eyes flickered, and he seemed to guess what Jiang Ning was about to do. He raised his arm straight to make it easier for her.

Jiang Ning put the watch on him. They were wearing matching watches, one for men and one for women. The men’s watch had a wider band, while Jiang Ning’s was more delicate.

Jiang Ning found a good excuse and looked at him. “From now on, remember to check the time and come home for meals.”

Shen Mo’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he averted his gaze.

These days, he had realized what feelings he had developed for Jiang Ning. He had truly accepted her as his wife and didn’t want to let her go.

Now that she didn’t fully trust that life with him would be good, he would prove it with his actions.

After paying for the watches, they returned to the car with their many bags and drove home.

Shopping was indeed exhausting. After a tiring day, Jiang Ning felt a bit tired. The car swayed gently, and after watching the scenery outside for a while, her eyelids became heavy, and she fell asleep.

Shen Mo drove as smoothly as possible to avoid waking Jiang Ning.

When Jiang Ning woke up again, she found that the car had stopped in front of the military compound gate.
