Jeong Taeui secretly wondered if there was any
decent medical facility in this oasis.
He sighed and put one hand in his coat pocket. As he
reached into his pocket, the approaching man slowed down a bit and blinked in
alarm.
“You’ve already used cowardly tricks, and now you’re
planning to use weapons too?”
The man roared like thunder. Regardless, Jeong Taeui
leisurely walked over to approach him. For a moment, the man hesitated a bit.
Seizing the opportunity, Jeong Taeui grabbed the
man’s collar, and he reflexively swung his hand towards him. Almost at the same
time as that fist, Jeong Taeui put his hand in his coat pocket and just kept
dodging that attack, then, just like what Carlo did to him a moment ago, he
hooked his leg and punched him a blow to the stomach and knocked the man out in
a flash.
When he pressed his knee on that man’s chest, the
surroundings became strangely quiet. He could feel the hostile gaze pouring out
that was different from before.
Ugh. Nine times out of ten, he’s about to be
gang-banged.
Jeong Taeui let out a sigh. The man glared at him.
“If it weren’t for your cowardly pulling out a
weapon to distract me, the situation would have changed by now.”
“I know.”
Although it could be seen as a loser’s excuse, Jeong
Taeui just sighed and swallowed his words back.
The man grabbed the wrist Jeong Taeui was holding on
his shoulder and tried to bend it. It seems like Jeong Taeui doesn’t have
enough strength to hold on for long. Jeong Taeui did not have enough confidence
to defeat this man with his own strength. If he kept trying like that, he
probably wouldn’t be able to last more than a minute. Perhaps sooner or later
the situation will be completely reversed.
Damned. He’s never broken his arm before, does it
hurt a lot? It will probably hurt a lot. It would be good if he was taken to
the hospital in time. Jeong Taeui tried his best to endure the force of the
man’s strong hand while feeling the surrounding eyes gradually becoming cruel
towards him. Jeong Taeui clicked his tongue and spoke to the man just an arm’s
length away from him.
“But hey. Just like you said, knowing that the
coward and despicable me had something in my pocket, that’s why you were easily
crushed like this. Looks like you won’t die even if I cut your throat,
right?”
Jeong Taeui still put his hand in his pocket like he
was holding something and then pressed it right under the man’s neck.
Jeong Taeui stared emotionlessly at the man, the
sharp thing in his hand was now just an inch away from his neck. The man’s eyes
widened for a moment. At that moment, Jeong Taeui smiled.
“But the problem is… I can’t slit your throat with a
ballpoint pen.”
Jeong Taeui took out the ballpoint pen he was hiding
in his pocket and threw it away, locking the man on the floor. He frowned and
stared at the ceiling then stood up and looked at Jeong Taeui then shouted with
an angry trembling voice.
“This guy’s cowardice isn’t enough, he also used
that cowardly trick. No way. Let’s fix that habit today.”
“Yeah, good idea Alta. Let me go first.”
The person who muttered in a low voice was Carlo. He
finally stood up after the shock to his lower body.
Jeong Taeui looked at him with a miserable face. He
has tried to calmly maintain the lifeline here for half a year without causing
any quarrels with anyone, but it seems like he’ll have to worry about saving
his life from the first moment he steps in here. If he had to point out the
beginning of all this, the blame would lie with the person who brought him
here. < Hehe Changin-ssi>
But then again, if this was a routine procedure for
newbies, Tou couldn’t be blamed for bringing him to this room, but Jeong Taeui
still looked at Tou with a gloomy look as if he wanted to find someone to share
it with this hatred. Tou, who had been observing the crowd, seemed to flinch
when he met Jeong Taeui’s eyes. Jeong Taeui was so depressed that he gave up as
if he wanted to be blown away by the wind, he could only look at the floor
helplessly.
“By the way, who do you know to get in here?”
A dark shadow fell over his head, Jeong Taeui looked
up, it was Carlo. It seems like he wants to check his background before taking
action.
Just as he was about to say, ‘There’s no such
thing’, Tou quickly jumped up and shouted first.
“Officer Jeong. It was Officer Jeong who brought him
here.”
“Officer Jeong?”
Carlo glanced at Tou and then curiously asked Jeong
Taeui.
“How do you know Officer Jeong?”
“If we are close, will you leave my ‘disability’
alone?”
Carlo looked sideways as if thinking for a moment.
“I will look into it.”
His tone clearly meant he wanted to correct his
habit of using tricks. But Jeong Taeui still told the truth with a sigh.
“That’s my uncle.”
“Officer Jeong?….is he a biological uncle?”
When Carlo’s voice spoke, the surroundings
immediately became noisy. Jeong Taeui was a bit surprised by the unexpected
reaction from the people around him.
He wonders if his uncle is famous enough to surprise
others like that or not. It seems like the officer position has more power than
he thought.
“Taeil…. Jeong Taeil…. So what is your relationship
with Jeong Jaeil? Rumor has it that Jeong Jaeil is also Officer Jeong’s
nephew.”
Carlo muttered mispronouncing his name then asked
again with a serious expression. Jeong Taeui still couldn’t help but be
surprised when he heard his brother’s name being called out from someone else.
He never thought his brother’s name would appear in
this situation. Or rather, he didn’t know why his brother’s name had to appear
here. Let’s see, his uncle also said that the members here are often rotated to
other branches. So maybe they worked with his brother for a while when they
were transferred to headquarters.
“That’s my brother.”
“Older brother? Huh? Brother? Jeong Jaeil? Is
he your biological brother? As that famous genius researcher, even though the
headquarters begged him to give him huge power in the headquarters along with a
generous salary, right after the contract ended, that rare genius left without
any regrets? Is Jeong Jaeui so lucky that he can do everything he wants?
Jeong Taeui grimaced to avoid the splash of Carlo’s
saliva as he screamed in excitement.
This was the first time he heard about his brother
like that. Jeong Taeui didn’t care much about Jeong Jeui’s work in the first
place anyway, so it seems like it might as well be like that. That’s probably
it. His brother seemed to be a lot more famous than he could have imagined.
“Yes, that’s right. It’s my brother…. Then can you
let me go?
Jeong Taeui hopes to enjoy a little of his brother’s
luck.
Carlo just turned around and chatted with the men
around him, constantly exclaiming things like, ‘Just heard it in rumors but it
turns out to be true.’, ‘He can compare to legends. ‘…..Then, hearing Jeong
Taeui ask, he shrugged and laughed.
“What are you talking about? Of course these two
things are different.”
Carlo cracked his knuckles and started to warm up
his wrist again.
“Without technique, there is no strength. If you
give up, just raise your hands and surrender, why use those three despicable
tricks?”
“I’m still sure to win with cowardly tricks.”
“….”
Carlo closed his mouth. Besides, the men from
earlier also approached him with fierce faces. He doesn’t know when, but the
story of Jeong Jaeil soon fell into oblivion. The hope of taking advantage of
his brother’s fame to bring him some luck also disappeared.
Fortunately, the atmosphere was not as tense and
dangerous as he thought. Maybe he doesn’t need to worry about any medical
facilities anymore.
However, the result of being beaten remains unchanged.
