Chapter 17 : Did the hen really lay three eggs?

Su Ranran was stunned as she watched the anti-wolf spray, baseball bat, and pepper spray disappear one by one from her view.

It was as if the owner of the warehouse was in danger and needed to use the items inside.

Thinking about the origin of this warehouse and then considering Li Xueqiu’s space, it wasn’t hard for Su Ranran to guess that Li Xueqiu was controlling this space.

Pan Shuifang was helpless with her noisy second daughter-in-law.

The eldest daughter-in-law had finally gotten pregnant, and she wasn’t making a fuss. Shouldn’t Gao Fangxia be more careful?

Hearing her mother-in-law’s tone, Gao Fangxia rolled her eyes but quickly put her small irritation aside when she thought about what she had just seen.

“Grandma, hurry up!”

Seeing her urgency, Pan Shuifang had to put down the basin in her hand and walk to the corner of the yard where the firewood was stacked.

Even Xu Huilian didn’t care about hitting Shen Zhengjiang and immediately threw down her stick to follow. Before they reached the firewood pile, they heard Pan Shuifang’s excited voice.

“So many!”

“What do you mean, so many?” Xu Huilian walked forward quickly.

As soon as she got closer, she widened her eyes in surprise!

It turned out that the chicken coop, which had been cleaned out yesterday, actually had four eggs today.

And those eggs looked quite large.

Excluding the egg that was in the nest, this meant the hen had laid three eggs yesterday.

But being someone who overthought things, after the excitement, Xu Huilian couldn’t help but express her concern.

“Grandma, this hen laying so many eggs at once, could it be a problem?”

Even fruit trees will die if they bear too much fruit at once, could this hen bear it if it lays so many eggs?

If these hens died, where would she find two more like them?

As soon as Su Ranran went outside, she saw her mother-in-law holding a chicken basin and calling the chickens. As soon as the basin was set down, the hen flew over, looking even more energetic than yesterday.

Even Su Ranran was surprised.

The water had that much power?

Pan Shuifang was even more amazed. She looked around until she confirmed that the two hens were really fine, and then she could finally believe what she was seeing. As for why she didn’t suspect the eggs weren’t from her hens?

“Why did this hen suddenly lay so many eggs?”

Xu Huilian wondered aloud.

If a hen laid one egg every day, it was considered excellent.

It wasn’t uncommon for a hen to lay two eggs. The Li family’s hens could lay two every day. The villagers were so envious they traded goods for her eggs, hoping to hatch such extraordinary hens.

Even the two eggs from the Shen family were bought at a high price from others. But no one knew what was going on. There were many people in the village, but no one had ever heard of a hen that could lay two eggs.

Now their hens were laying… three?

So, did these two hens inherit the genes of the Li family’s hens?

“I warn you all, keep your mouths shut and don’t tell anyone anything.”

What if people found out that their hens laid three eggs today?

Hearing this, the wives dared not act carelessly and nodded in agreement.

Su Ranran nodded even more firmly. Because she was the one who caused this.

Seeing that they were all quite obedient, Pan Shuifang was satisfied.

She picked up all six eggs and turned to Su Ranran, saying, “Why don’t you sleep a little longer? Mom will boil you an egg later to make up for it.” She didn’t even mention taking out two eggs to cook for everyone to eat together.

After hearing this, Gao Fangxia and Xu Huilian’s faces fell.

A big family is always either short of food or facing an unequal distribution. Su Ranran felt that if her mother-in-law kept being so partial, there would be problems sooner or later.

She would have to live here for a long time, so there was no need to make the relationship so tense. Besides, she didn’t lack food,  there were too many things in the space.

She had already explored the space thoroughly, and eggs like these could be found all over the mountains and forests. Pheasants and ducks were even more abundant in groups.

Not to mention the fat wild rabbits.

“Mom, since there are so many eggs, let’s boil egg soup for everyone to eat together. My nephews are growing, so they need nourishment.”

Upon hearing this, the two sisters-in-law’s faces improved.

Two pairs of eyes eagerly focused on the six eggs in Pan Shuifang’s hand. Pan Shuifang hesitated for a moment. After all, eggs could be exchanged for money. What a waste it would be to let everyone eat them.

“Mom, we have so many extra eggs. It will be bad if people find out later. It’s better to eat the extra eggs directly.”

Two chickens, each laid three eggs. There were six eggs today, with four being extra. The two sisters-in-law beside her kept nodding, supporting her.

“Okay then.” Pan Shuifang finally agreed.

Hearing that they could eat four eggs today, the two sisters-in-law were immediately excited. Although the portions were small because there were many people, it was still a rare treat.

As for this sister-in-law, who seemed to have changed, the two of them had a slightly different view of her.

Without saying anything more, Pan Shuifang handed the four eggs to Gao Fangxia and warned, “Don’t eat them secretly later.”

The three daughters-in-law of the Shen family took turns cooking, and today it was Gao Fangxia’s turn.

Pan Shuifang was a little worried, but there was nothing she could do. She liked taking advantage of small things the most, and just hoped that Gao Fangxia wouldn’t eat one of the four eggs secretly.

Xu Huilian also expressed concern, “Second sister-in-law, I’ll help you light the fire.”

Hearing this, the bright smile on Gao Fangxia’s face froze.

“Hehe, then there’s no need. Are you still worried about me doing things?”

Did you think we wouldn’t know what’s going on?

Seeing the distrustful expressions on the faces of the others, Gao Fangxia awkwardly relented, “Okay then.”

The two sisters-in-law went to cook, and Su Ranran took out her toiletries and went to the water tank to brush her teeth.

Shen He should have gone for a morning run, as there was no sign of him early in the morning. But this wasn’t surprising, as he had to train every day in the army.

While brushing her teeth, Su Ranran wondered if she would have time to enter the space to perform the blood test when she returned to her room later?

But before she could finish brushing her teeth, suddenly, a roar from outside the door interrupted her.

“Su Ranran, get out here!”
