Qin Chaoyang and Shen Meng were sitting on the sofa in the living room. He didn’t go to the company today. Yesterday, Qin Ruyan said that she and Lu Jingchen would be coming back together today, and this was the first time they had returned together since their marriage.

Lu Jingchen nodded, “Uncle is right.”

Qin Ruyan looked at the two of them getting along well, she didn’t say anything, picked up her phone and opened WeChat, and there was a new message.

She clicked on it and saw that it was a message from Li Pan.

“Sister, I will be performing at the Beijing University Student Art Center tonight, are you free to come?”

Qin Ruyan thought for a moment, she turned her head and tugged on Lu Jingchen’s sleeve.

Lu Jingchen lowered his head, his gentle eyes looking at her, “What’s wrong?”

“A friend of mine invited me to watch her performance at Beijing University tonight, are you free to accompany me?”

She originally planned to go alone, but Lu Jingchen was also here today, so she asked for his opinion.

Lu Jingchen nodded, “I have nothing else to do today, you can arrange it.”

She hummed and replied with a WeChat message.

Li Pan smiled after receiving Qin Ruyan’s WeChat message.

She was a member of the Arts Department of the Beijing University Student Union, majoring in computer science. This time it was the school anniversary performance. Computer science was a male-dominated field, and she was a student union cadre, so she couldn’t get out of it.

She greeted the student union president and walked out.

Today, she had made a lunch date with Gu Ze.

Qin Shi had just arrived at the entrance of Beijing University. He sent a message to Cheng Yu Bai. They had only known each other for a short time, but thanks to Lu Jingchen, he was quite well-received in the medical department of Beijing University. Most of the professors there gave him some face.

Li Pan also walked out of the Student Union Center at this time. They passed each other at the entrance of the school. Qin Shi turned his head to look at her figure, a smile curling on his lips. The little girl, she was quite pretty and seemed to have a strong personality. He shook his head and walked towards the medical building.

Li Pan walked towards the subway station without looking back. She had left home a little late today and had been delayed at the Student Union for almost half an hour. She was in a hurry now. She had originally wanted to take a taxi, but she was afraid of traffic jams. After thinking for a while, she decided to take the subway. It was only two stops away, and it would take about ten minutes. She sent a message to Gu Ze.

They had made a reservation at a hotpot restaurant not far from Beijing University.

When Li Pan arrived, Gu Ze had already been there for a while. He stood up, took her bag, and then took her coat.

“Slow down, what’s the rush?” Gu Ze took her hand, and they sat down. He reached out to smooth the stray hair beside Li Pan’s ear.

“I was delayed at the Student Union today, making you wait.” Li Pan smiled playfully. They had been together for almost two years and had a deep relationship. However, Gu Ze studied at another university more than ten kilometers away from Beijing University, so they could only meet on weekends or during holidays.

“I just got here a while ago. I ordered a type of hotpot with both spicy and non-spicy broth. I ordered some dishes. Do you want to add anything?” He pushed the menu towards her. Li Pan took it and glanced at it, then took a pen and ticked a few items before handing the menu back to Gu Ze.

Gu Ze took a look. She only added one meat dish, and the rest were all vegetables.

He placed the menu at the door of the private room and pressed the bell. The waiter would come to take the menu.

He walked over and sat on the stool, looking at Li Pan with a smile. “Why are you ordering vegetarian again today?”

Li Pan shook her head. “There’s a performance at school tonight. I want to eat something light for lunch. I’ll eat the clear soup pot later. The spicy pot is too strong.”

Every time she ate spicy hotpot, even after showering, washing her hair, and changing clothes, she still felt like she had a lingering smell.

Gu Ze hummed in agreement and poured her a cup of hot water. “You’re not inviting me to watch it?”

Li Pan picked up the cup and took a sip, then looked at him with a smile. “Aren’t you supposed to go out with your tutor for a dinner tonight?”

Gu Ze was studying finance. As he was about to graduate, he planned to take the postgraduate entrance exam. His tutor valued him a lot and would bring him along whenever there was a suitable occasion. This was also because he had been diligent and studious during his university years, which earned him these opportunities.

Gu Ze smiled. “If it ends early, can I come and find you?”

Li Pan’s eyelashes drooped. Although they had been together for two years, they hadn’t done anything too intimate. His words were a little flirtatious, but Li Pan couldn’t find fault with them.

“If you finish early, just send me a message. I’ll wait for you.”

“Okay.” Gu Ze stood up and sat opposite her. At the door, the waiter knocked on the door and brought the hotpot over. He reached out to shield Li Pan to the side, and only let go of her when the pot was placed on the table.

Li Pan looked at him with a smile. “You’re so considerate.”

Gu Ze raised an eyebrow, put some of her favorite meat and vegetables in the clear soup pot, and smiled. “Isn’t that what I should do?”

Li Pan hummed in agreement, picked up the hot tea and took a sip, her eyes fixed on the meat in the clear soup pot.
