Three Years of Marriage: Even a Military Union Must End in Divorce Chapter 52

Chapter 52: Don’t Bother Me, Get Lost!

Watching Feng Chuan leave, Jiang Ning felt that something was off.

She pondered carefully.

Feng Chuan’s gaze towards her was unusual.

Looking at Zhiqi, who seemed downcast, Jiang Ning knew that the teacher’s words had hurt the boy again.

The child was sensitive, and a few words could make him feel bad for days.

When Feng Chuan arrived, Zhiqi’s eagerness to bring out the stool showed how much he wanted to be praised.

But instead, he was belittled.

She first comforted the child, “Do you remember what I said at the parent-teacher meeting that day?”

Zhiqi was startled, then nodded.

“You are amazing. Not many children your age, who have just started learning, can recognize a hundred English words. Besides, a teacher who belittles a child is not a good teacher.”

“Our Zhiqi is obedient, smart, and hardworking, not like what your teacher said.”

Jiang Ning affirmed him.

After giving the child some psychological support, Jiang Ning asked him, “Is Teacher Feng usually like this at school?”

Zhiqi didn’t understand at first, “Ah?”

Jiang Ning explained, “Wearing clothes like today and combing his hair.”

Zhiqi thought for a moment. The weather wasn’t yet cold enough to wear two layers, and he had been puzzled why Teacher Feng, who was usually afraid of the heat, would wear two layers in such hot weather.

As for Teacher Feng combing his hair, they had never seen that before.

Zhiqi shook his head, “No, he only wears clothes like that when there are important leaders visiting from elsewhere. He doesn’t usually wear them. But today was the first time I saw him comb his hair.”

Wearing a suit and tie, a watch, combing his hair with gel, and that uncomfortable gaze towards her.

The more Jiang Ning thought about it, the more something seemed off. It was clearly like a peacock displaying its feathers to attract a woman.

But since it was only their second meeting, she couldn’t jump to conclusions and accuse him outright. It might just be her overthinking.

Feng Chuan knew she was a military dependent, so he shouldn’t have had those intentions.

Jiang Ning didn’t dwell on this issue. She already had a negative impression of him for belittling his own student.

He thought she couldn’t read and wanted to teach her in a self-righteous manner. As a teacher, shouldn’t he focus on his students?

For several consecutive days, Jiang Ning encountered Feng Chuan on her way to the clinic.

Feng Chuan would always greet her proactively.

Gradually, his form of address changed.

From initially calling her “Zhiqi’s parent,” he started calling her “Comrade Jiang Ning.”

If it happened once or twice, it could be a coincidence, but frequent encounters were no longer just coincidences.

Could this confident man really be interested in her?

After encountering Feng Chuan several days in a row, Jiang Ning no longer thought she was just overthinking.

That day, on her way to the clinic, she once again bumped into Feng Chuan, who was on his way to school.

It was working time, and there was a lot of foot traffic, but Feng Chuan immediately spotted Jiang Ning in the crowd.

“Jiang Ning,” he called out.

His voice was loud enough to attract many people’s attention.

Jiang Ning, who already stood out in the compound, was now being watched by even more people.

Ever since she realized that Teacher Feng might have feelings for her, seeing him made her feel a bit nauseous.

In an era where even slight intimacy between men and women could lead to criticism, how dare this man call her name in public?

Under the pressure of the gazes from all directions and the man who was already approaching her, she had to greet him. “Teacher Feng.”

Feng Chuan made his way through the crowd to stand in front of Jiang Ning.

Among so many people, he had immediately noticed her.

In the midst of the bustling crowd, Jiang Ning was the only one wearing a dress, her good figure drawing envious glances. He really wanted to reach out and hold that slender waist.

What he needed to do now was to make his presence known to Jiang Ning, to the point where she could no longer ignore him.

“This is a customized study plan I made for Zhiqi. Please take it,” he said, handing her a notebook in a way that left no room for refusal. Then, he pointed to three characters on the notebook and said, “These three characters read ‘plan book’.”

Jiang Ning immediately had an expression as if she had eaten a fly. Was there anything more cringeworthy than the current situation?

A live teaching session?

Feng Chuan pretentiously pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose, wearing a confident expression as if to say, “I will teach you well.”

He was confident that he could teach Jiang Ning.

Teaching someone to read was not difficult.

He was already eagerly anticipating seeing a look of admiration on Jiang Ning’s face, as if she couldn’t help but be in awe of him.

Jiang Ning’s lips twitched. “Teacher Feng, I don’t think I ever said I couldn’t read.”

Now it was Feng Chuan’s turn to have a frozen expression.

Jiang Ning was now certain that Feng Chuan had feelings for her. She subtly took a step back to create some distance and then said ambiguously, “Teacher Feng, you’re not skilled enough to fool someone into thinking they’re a fool.”

“And let me remind you of something else,” she said, taking out a pen from her bag and swiftly writing a few large characters on the so-called plan book. She then threw it back at Feng Chuan.

Feng Chuan looked at the notebook and saw the characters written with steady strokes:

“Destroying a military marriage is illegal. Don’t bother me without a reason, get lost!”

Jiang Ning’s handwriting was elegant and fluid. She didn’t say the words out loud to avoid any malicious rumors that might spread. After writing the message, she threw the notebook at Feng Chuan and turned to leave.

As Jiang Ning walked away, Feng Chuan instinctively reached out to grab her but missed.

That Jiang Ning could read was beyond his expectations, and that she had noticed his intentions completely caught him off guard.

He had been confident in his methods, planning to gradually infiltrate and then take control, but this woman had seen through him immediately.

Feng Chuan’s thoughts flickered between hope and despair. Looking at the words on the notebook, an inexplicable sense of competitiveness made him determined to win over this woman.

Who said he wanted to destroy a military marriage? He wasn’t that foolish. He intended to make Jiang Ning ruin her own reputation.

These two days were the weekend when Li Xingyue, the eldest daughter of Sister Li, returned home.

When Jiang Ning was picked up by Shen Mo after work, she happened to run into Li Xingyue.

Seeing Li Xingyue, Jiang Ning greeted her. After the greeting, she said, “I made a whitening cream using apricot kernels. When do you have time to try it?”

As soon as Jiang Ning finished speaking, Li Xingyue immediately said, “I, I have time now.”

As soon as she said that, her face turned red. Seeing Shen Mo walking over after parking his bicycle, she added, “Is it convenient for you?”

Jiang Ning had originally planned to invite her over after dinner, but seeing how eager the girl was, she smiled and said, “Now is fine too.”

Li Xingyue immediately said, “I’ll go home and put my things away.”

It looked like she would have to ask the big man behind her to cook dinner tonight.

“You’re cooking tonight.”

“Okay,” Shen Mo agreed without hesitation.

Jiang Ning thought for a moment, “I want to eat minced pork with eggplant.”

“Sure,” he replied promptly.

“Hehe,” Jiang Ning laughed, “Do you know how to make it?”

Shen Mo thought for a moment and said, “I remember the steps you took last time you made minced pork with eggplant.”

“Alright,” Jiang Ning said, cupping his face in her hands and giving him a kiss. “Go ahead.”

Shen Mo floated into the kitchen, feeling happy. Although his wife hadn’t yet allowed him to take the final step, getting a kiss was enough to make him content.
