At this moment, the car was heading directly towards a large truck in front at its maximum speed.
“Whoa!”
Even though it was in the system, the real sensation made Zero instinctively scream in fear.
Chen Xing didn’t know whether to laugh and cry at the situation.
“BOOM!”
A loud crash!
“BOOM!”
A chain collision!
However, Chen Xing had already floated into the sky, holding little Zero in his arms, looking down at the virtual pileup below.
“Whoa… that scared me,” Zero said, still trembling, and she didn’t dare to look down while clinging to his embrace.
Chen Xing smiled helplessly and touched his forehead. “You…. road killer…”
“Um… this… it was an accident!”
“It’s all your fault for distracting me and making me pull the steering wheel off! And then you laughed at me… I’ll bop you!”
Bop
She gave him a loving little bop.
Chen Xing laughed and said, “It’s not my fault!”
“… it’s definitely your fault! Hmph…”
After that, Zero behaved herself and completed the simulated test perfectly.
They then moved on to the next task, the fourth subject, which was the most challenging of all.
It required downhill assessment on the treacherous Mount Akina.
When it came to Mount Akina, Chen Xing couldn’t help but think of Initial D. However, these two mountains only shared the same name. The Mount Akina in the Spirit Continent was much steeper than the one depicted in the anime.

In this simulation, there were numerous narrow and sharp turns that required forced deceleration. Not slowing down easily resulted in veering off the road, and the consequence would be plummeting into a bottomless abyss, ending in a gruesome death.
Of course, beings with strong abilities, such as Spirit Users and Spirit Masters, would certainly survive.
“Um… the wind is quite strong,”
To make it more realistic, San’er even replicated the climate on Mount Akina.
“Should I go first or you?” Chen Xing asked.
The requirement for subject four was to descend the mountain within twenty minutes. Mount Akina had extremely steep slopes and was specifically designed for testing.
The roads were narrow, only wide enough for two cars to pass side by side with no room for error. On the left side was the mountain, and on the right side was a cliff.
The safest way to drive was to use the brakes continuously while descending.
Normally, it would take at least 40 minutes to descend the mountain.
However, the exam rules required it to be completed within 20 minutes!
This forced the exam candidates to drive unsafely.
Yes, if you weren’t willing to drive fast, you wouldn’t pass!
Before practicing for subject four, everyone had to sign an agreement that they would be responsible for any accidents.
Many people gave up after practicing on-site a few times. It was nearly impossible to complete the descent in 20 minutes on such a challenging road.
This means only those with real driving skills can get a driver’s license. Trying to pass by cheating or bluffing is simply impossible.
“I’ll go first~ hehe!”
Since it was in the system, Zero wasn’t afraid at all!
Gears grinding.
So…
“Screech~”
A sharp brake sound echoed through the valley.
“Bang!”
With a loud crash, Zero and Chen Xing flew off the cliff!
“Ah!!!”
“BOOM!”
That’s right, she drove too fast and couldn’t stop the car.
Zero’s driving skills were already quite good, but even so, she flew off the cliff on her first attempt.
She traced a beautiful arc in the sky.
Afterwards, little Zero tried driving more slowly, but she still exceeded the time limit.
The road was just too challenging.
In some places, it was difficult to pass without slowing down to a certain speed.
“Hmph… let’s try again!”
Zerl tried it again, but she still couldn’t make it in time.
Among the most challenging parts of the mountain road, there were five in total. The first one was known as the Death Equilateral Triangle, also called the Death Lightning!
This slope was extremely steep and quite long. You had to keep your speed slow, and even a slight increase in speed could lead to the risk of plunging off the cliff. At the end of this downhill section, there were six 60-degree sharp turns in quick succession.
This downhill stretch resembled a winding lightning bolt when viewed from above, hence the name Death Lightning!
This was the first challenging part that took up a lot of time.
The second one was known as Hell’s Spiral.
It was still a steep downhill section, but it resembled a mosquito coil, with nine consecutive spirals.
The most challenging part was that if you didn’t enter the turns correctly at the beginning, and didn’t get the right angle, it would become increasingly difficult to adjust later. Eventually, you’d find that the angle couldn’t be corrected, and you’d have to slow down, or even stop and reverse.
Hell’s Spiral was particularly tricky because the entire route hugged the mountain closely, creating the illusion that one would collide with the mountain. This would lead them to instinctively turn the steering wheel, which, when overdone, would force them to stop.
This was another challenging section that consumed a lot of time.
The third one was called the Reincarnation Jumping Platform!
As the name suggests, this was the section of the road where the chances of “reincarnating” on the spot were the highest.
It consisted of three consecutive large cliffs!
This was also a downhill section, but here, you needed to accelerate. At the bottom, there was a slight incline. Only with enough speed could you leap over the disconnected road section, which was essentially a cliff.
Slowing down was not an option; it would mean certain death!
The three segments of this section had progressively larger gaps, so you had to go faster each time. If you didn’t adjust quickly and accelerate after the first jump, you wouldn’t make it to the next one!
This part of the road didn’t require much skill, just immense courage.
Many people were discouraged by this section, and despite the safety measures in place under the cliff, they couldn’t overcome their inner fear.
The fourth one was known as the Funeral Bell U-turn.
It was a timed challenge, and you had to pass nine of the sharpest U-turns within a certain number of seconds. As soon as you entered the detection area, the bells would ring: “Ding-dong, ding-dong…”
As time passed, the bell would ring faster, warning you that time was running out.
The sound of the bell could make people panic, feeling like they were too late.
The more anxious you became, the more likely you were to make mistakes. A single mistake would mean failing to navigate the turn, and you’d have to brake and start over.
If you couldn’t pass this section, no matter how well you did before, your results would be invalidated.
This part of the test was designed to assess a driver’s mental composure under pressure, whether they could drive safely even in high-pressure situations.
The fifth one was somewhat similar to some scenes in the anime.
In the final stretch, there was the Hairpin Turn!
While the road became less steep, the turns were very sharp. The last section might look like the easiest part of the road, so many people tried to make up for lost time here.
However, this often led to speeding and crashing.
If you sped up too much and had an accident, your exam would be over.
Because of these five challenges, countless people who wanted to pass the test failed on this section of the Mount Akina.
This road was specifically designed for testing and was usually not open to regular traffic.
Because it was a test, safety measures were extensive, and most of the barriers were reinforced. As long as you didn’t do something reckless like speeding and crashing into the guardrail and flipping over, there wouldn’t be any major accidents.
“Sniff… this is really difficult, sob…”
Little Zero was once again tormented.
This was just too hard!
For the first Death Lightning, she had to stop the car once.
For the Hell’s Spiral, she had stopped twice!
For the Reincarnation Jumping Platform, she dared to jump because she couldn’t die in the system.
For the Funeral Bell, the bell ringing made her nervous and her performance unstable. Sometimes she passed, but other times she was too anxious, resulting in multiple stops.
During the actual exam, she would likely be even more anxious, so in this section, she might fail outright if she couldn’t keep up with the time limit.
The fifth section was manageable as long as little Zero didn’t rush, and she could complete it perfectly.
“Sob… Husband… I don’t want to drive anymore…”
