“Transmigrating into the Wealthy Family as the Biological Mother, I’m Laughing So Hard!” Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Accelerated Heartbeat

After Xiao Yue went upstairs, she excitedly told Gu Nanyan everything she had seen downstairs.

Gu Nanyan sat at the computer desk, resting her chin on one hand, looking at the cute little girl with a half-smile. “You don’t like Qin Yuwei?”

“She acts like the mistress of the house just because she’s the little young master’s tutor. She orders the servants around like they’re beneath her. It’s not just me who dislikes her; many people in the house can’t stand her,” Xiao Yue complained, suddenly recalling something. Didn’t Qin Yuwei seem to be introduced into the house by the young mistress?

Xiao Yue suddenly covered her mouth. “Is… is this something I can say?”

“Of course,” Gu Nanyan smiled reassuringly and nodded. “Because I don’t like her either.”

Hearing that Gu Nanyan also disliked Qin Yuwei, Xiao Yue felt relieved. “Young Mistress, you should be careful with her. She’s always trying to get close to the Young Master. If it weren’t for the Young Master’s disinterest in her, she would have already made her way into the family.”

Xiao Yue realized she had said too much again and quickly covered her mouth. “Is… is this something I can say?”

“In front of me, you can say anything. But in front of others, nothing should be said that could harm me. Understood?”

“I understand. The housekeeper, Mr. Lin, has already told me that I must serve you, Young Mistress, with complete loyalty and never speak a word that could harm you,” Xiao Yue said sincerely.

Gu Nanyan nodded and told Xiao Yue to leave.

Not long after, Qin Yuwei personally delivered the schedule for Xiao Mumu’s classes.

Seeing her, Gu Nanyan wasn’t particularly surprised. “Is there something you want to say to me?”

From what Xiao Yue had said, when Qin Yuwei saw Shen Boyan leaving her room, she looked incredibly upset. She must be wondering what exactly Shen Boyan had been doing in her room.

Qin Yuwei, wearing a white dress, elegantly walked up to Gu Nanyan and contemptuously placed the schedule on Gu Nanyan’s desk. “Young Master Shen asked me to bring you something.”

Gu Nanyan picked up Xiao Mumu’s schedule. After cutting out several unnecessary classes, only a few remained: painting, piano, Go, Chinese, and math.

She had asked Xiao Mumu, and the child seemed to still be interested in these subjects.

“Nanyan, when did we first meet? I think it was in middle school, right?” Qin Yuwei smiled as she recalled. “Do you remember your middle school grades? I was first in every subject, and you… you were last, weren’t you?”

Gu Nanyan’s hand holding the schedule stiffened slightly.

Qin Yuwei continued, “But so what? First place, last place… in the end, we both went to the same high school and the same university. I worked so hard for the school of my dreams, staying up countless nights to get in. But you? You never cared about studying, yet you still effortlessly ended up at the same school as me. Sometimes, I wonder, is there any fairness in this world? Nanyan, what do you think?”

“Who are you to think your ten years of hard work can compare to the efforts of three generations?” Gu Nanyan put down the schedule and spoke indifferently, directly shutting down Qin Yuwei’s smug smile.

Although the original owner did rely on her family to get into a good school, Gu Nanyan remembered that her grades had originally been excellent in middle school. It was only after meeting Qin Yuwei that her performance began to plummet to last place.

“Yes, your Gu family is indeed powerful—three generations in business, a prominent family. But have you ever heard the saying? ‘All that glitters is not gold.’ What your family gives you is just a cold diploma, but when it comes to professional knowledge, what do you have to compare with me?” Qin Yuwei regained her confidence. “I can teach Xiao Mumu all of these subjects. Can you? I doubt you could even teach a child.”

Gu Nanyan finally understood. Qin Yuwei had come here to belittle her, waiting to humiliate her.

Unfortunately…

She was no longer that love-stricken Gu Nanyan.

She was a genius from another era.

Not only was she exceptionally skilled in medicine, but she was also proficient in many other fields.

“You came here today to say all this because Shen Boyan came to my room tonight, right?” Gu Nanyan put down the schedule, a calm smile on her face. “What my family has given me isn’t just a diploma. There’s also the position of Mrs. Shen, which others can only dream of. I know you’re very concerned about Boyan, but as for what my husband did in my room, that’s a private matter. Seems like it’s not very appropriate to share that with you.”

Those words were a direct hit, and Qin Yuwei’s face twisted in anger. Her eyes were filled with resentment.

“A man as perfect as Shen Boyan would never fall for a vase like you.”

She spat those words and turned to leave.

Gu Nanyan, a useless vase, was someone Shen Boyan would never love.

No matter how she changed, she would never be able to stand on the same level as her.

What Shen Boyan needed was a knowledgeable wife who could stand by his side.

Someone like Qin Yuwei.

Gu Nanyan watched Qin Yuwei leave, her gaze returning to Xiao Mumu’s schedule.

A vase?

Was she referring to her?

It was the first time someone had used such a term to describe her.

Xiao Mumu hadn’t started kindergarten yet, so to help him adapt to group life, he attended a tutoring center four days a week.

That afternoon, Shen Boyan personally picked him up from the tutoring center and brought a pile of documents home to work.

When the car pulled into the driveway, Gu Nanyan was outside enjoying the sun. She saw the man in a black suit, holding the little boy in his arms, and couldn’t help but feel how heartwarming the scene was.

“Mommy…”

Xiao Mumu spotted Gu Nanyan from afar and waved his little hand enthusiastically, as if worried she might not see him.

Gu Nanyan smiled brightly and quickly got up to walk over.

“Mommy, hug…”

As soon as she reached the father and son, Xiao Mumu reached out both hands to be hugged by her.

Gu Nanyan glanced at Shen Boyan’s expression. His handsome face was calm, though his deep eyes seemed to hide some emotion.

Only then did she reach out, and Xiao Mumu quickly jumped into her arms.

As their arms briefly brushed against each other, Gu Nanyan’s heart skipped a beat.

The woodsy scent from the man was usually calm and steady, but every time she smelled it, her heart would race.

“Mommy, I did really well today and got a little red flower!”

Xiao Mumu excitedly took out the reward red flower from the tutoring center and eagerly handed it to her.

Shen Boyan watched the scene, his brow furrowing slightly.

Xiao Mumu hadn’t even shown him the flower.

“Wow, our Xiao Mumu is awesome! Here, thumbs up!”

Gu Nanyan took the little red flower and gave a thumbs-up, with Xiao Mumu happily following suit.

Shen Boyan stood silently by, his assistant Ling Han, who was carrying the documents, accidentally dropped one.

Shen Boyan shot him a cold glare, and he hurriedly picked it up and carried it inside.

He had never imagined that the Young Mistress could have such a gentle side.

As expected, women were the most unpredictable creatures.
