“Transmigrating into the Wealthy Family as the Biological Mother, I’m Laughing So Hard!” Chapter 13

Chapter 13: No One Can Reject Such a Soft and Adorable Child

Gu Nanyan glanced at Ling Han, who quickly disappeared with the files, then awkwardly turned to look at Shen Boyan. “Did you… bring work home?”

“Mm.” Shen Boyan answered indifferently, his expression unchanged.

Gu Nanyan nodded, unsure of what to say next.

Yesterday, she had complained about him not having time to spend with the child, and today he personally went to pick up the child and even brought work with him.

This… couldn’t be a coincidence, could it?

“Xiaomuwu is back.” Suddenly, a sweet voice rang out. Qin Yuwei, dressed in a white silk blouse and beige skirt, walked over with a smile. Her hair styled in soft waves, and her makeup was done meticulously, clearly showing she had put effort into her appearance.

It seemed she knew Shen Boyan would be coming back early.

“Shen Shao, Xiaomuwu has made great progress with the piano. He can already play a complex piece like ‘Summer Language.’ Will you listen to it later?” Qin Yuwei rarely had the chance to see Shen Boyan due to his busy work, so she didn’t want to miss any opportunity to be in his presence.

“Mommy, will you listen to it?” Before Shen Boyan could respond, Xiaomuwu clung to Gu Nanyan’s neck, his innocent eyes blinking as he looked at her.

Gu Nanyan thought no one could resist such a soft, adorable child and nodded, “Of course.”

Hearing this, Qin Yuwei gave her a disdainful and amused glance.

Could she even understand the piece?

Gu Nanyan was tone-deaf after all.

“Two o’clock, right?” Shen Boyan glanced at his watch. “I’ll go over later.”

With that, he went to the main house to deal with his files.

When Qin Yuwei heard Shen Boyan was going to listen to Xiaomuwu play the piano, her expression became animated with excitement.

It seemed like it was her chance to perform well in front of him.

Unfortunately… there was an unpleasant interruption.

At that moment, the nanny who was taking care of Xiaomuwu arrived. Xiaomuwu needed to change clothes, so Gu Nanyan handed him over to the nanny.

Qin Yuwei deliberately looked at Gu Nanyan and asked, “Nanyan, do you know who composed ‘Summer Language’?”

“No, I don’t,” Gu Nanyan replied naturally.

“Then you should just listen to it. You probably won’t think it’s anything special,” Qin Yuwei said with a forced smile.

“Well, listening to music may not be interesting, but listening with my husband and son together, that’s special,” Gu Nanyan replied, fully understanding Qin Yuwei’s intention. Shen Boyan was going, and Qin Yuwei clearly didn’t want her to go.

A small, insignificant person thinking she’s something special.

Qin Yuwei’s smile immediately faded completely.

Fine, Gu Nanyan, go ahead.

Just wait, and enjoy embarrassing yourself in front of Shen Shao.

Without your presence, how would Shen Shao realize how exceptional I am?

A confident glint flashed in Qin Yuwei’s eyes as she turned and left.

Gu Nanyan stood gracefully in place.

“Summer Language?”

Is this piece difficult?

Why didn’t I know that?

Half an hour later.

Piano Room.

The afternoon sunlight streamed into the piano room, where there were two pianos, one black and one white.

Qin Yuwei sat at the white piano, her fingers gracefully pressing the keys as she played.

Xiaomuwu sat beside her, wearing a dark blue knitted jacket over a little shirt, with features strikingly similar to Shen Boyan’s, looking every bit the little handsome boy.

However, Xiaomuwu appeared somewhat puzzled as he watched Qin Yuwei.

Didn’t Teacher Qin say she was going to teach him today? Why was she only playing for herself?

Qin Yuwei closed her eyes, playing the piece with great intensity.

She didn’t open her eyes until footsteps were heard outside the door, her face lighting up with smugness.

She quickened her pace as the song neared its end, finishing it with a perfect conclusion. She turned and happily looked at the person entering.

To her surprise, it was Gu Nanyan.

Gu Nanyan, with her hair tied back and wearing a light blue long dress, noticed how Qin Yuwei’s smile faltered instantly upon seeing her. The dramatic shift in expression made her want to applaud her. “Teacher Qin, that was pretty good.”

“Really? Do you know which pianist composed this piece?” Qin Yuwei, well aware that Gu Nanyan was tone-deaf, intentionally asked.

“No, I don’t,” Gu Nanyan naturally responded.

Qin Yuwei raised her chin, smugly turning away without bothering to engage further.

Just a pretty face with no substance.

Gu Nanyan walked over to Xiaomuwu. After exchanging a few words with him, Shen Boyan entered the piano room.

His tall and handsome figure was as perfect as a sculpture.

“Shen Shao.” Qin Yuwei greeted him warmly.

Shen Boyan merely nodded indifferently, not even sparing her a glance as he walked straight to the black leather sofa and sat down.

Once seated, he lazily crossed his legs. His cold, noble face showed no emotion, clearly here just to listen to the music.

Seeing this, Qin Yuwei turned to Xiaomuwu and said, “Xiaomuwu, Teacher Qin will demonstrate for you again. Listen carefully.”

Straightening her back, she took a deep breath and placed her fingers on the keys, beginning to play “Summer Language” once more.

Xiaomuwu, however, looked at her with confusion.

Teacher Qin had already played this several times today. He hadn’t even practiced it once.

Thankfully, the piece wasn’t too long—only about three minutes. After Qin Yuwei finished, she deliberately glanced towards the sofa.

But she saw the man’s expression remain unchanged, his gaze not on her but on the woman beside him.

Gu Nanyan was still beside Xiaomuwu, pointing at the sheet music. “Xiaomuwu, pay attention here, and here. Don’t use sliding notes here. Your fingers need to be light…”

Gu Nanyan pointed out a number of issues, causing Qin Yuwei’s expression to immediately sour.

Xiaomuwu hadn’t even started playing before she was pointing out all kinds of problems.

Was she pointing out Xiaomuwu’s mistakes, or was she pointing out hers?

“Nanyan, Xiaomuwu is already very familiar with this piece. You don’t know it well yourself, and you didn’t even know who composed it. Just stop giving him advice,” Qin Yuwei directly implied that Gu Nanyan had no say.

“I’m not familiar with it, but there are quite a few issues in the way Teacher Qin played it. Xiaomuwu is, after all, taught by Teacher Qin, so I naturally need to point out some things,” Gu Nanyan’s response was a direct slap to Qin Yuwei’s face.

Qin Yuwei’s face twitched with anger. “So, you’re questioning my expertise?”

A person who didn’t understand piano was questioning her professional ability?

It was laughable.

“Teacher Qin, I never said that. Alright, Xiaomuwu, why don’t you play a song for us?”

Gu Nanyan walked directly to the sofa, glanced at the noble, handsome figure, and sat down two spots away from him.

Shen Boyan gave her a brief glance with the corner of his eye before continuing to watch their son.

Xiaomuwu, following Gu Nanyan’s advice, played “Summer Language” with great concentration.

As expected, his performance was smoother and more pleasant than Qin Yuwei’s.

Shen Boyan, who understood piano, couldn’t help but shift his gaze to Gu Nanyan once the piece ended.
