Chapter 15
The movie, which lasted over an hour, came to an end.
Even Jin Ye’s pupils were so still they wouldn’t move.
Wei Liangchen chuckled softly, helped her tidy up her clothes, patted her face, and said with a teasing tone, “Don’t want to leave?”
Jin Ye’s face flushed red. “I can’t move.”
In the end, he carried her out.
The crowd outside the cinema had already dispersed, but the nightlife was just beginning. On the streets, where neon lights flickered, people came and went. Passersby saw many riflemen standing in two rows, officers with slightly lowered hats, carrying a woman out. The woman was draped in a military cloak, her face buried in the man’s chest, her features hidden.
She seemed incredibly delicate.
Her snow-white legs swayed back and forth.
The riflemen quickly closed in, and the officer and the woman disappeared into the open car door in a flash.
Apart from noticing that the officer was tall and his steps were steady and powerful, nothing else could be seen.
For Jin Ye, that night was a long and arduous one.
In the morning, at the military hospital ward.
“I actually slept for a whole night?” Ning Xiujun got out of bed, still feeling a little tired. “Where’s the young marshal?”
The maid, sent by the warlord’s mansion, said, “The young marshal went to the government office early this morning.”
“He… slept here last night?”
“He said he slept on the sofa, so I went out. I think so.” The maid had also slept soundly last night, but she dared not say anything, fearing that she would be scolded by Mrs. Wei.
Ning Xiujun hummed in response. It was a pity that she had slept for so long, missing another opportunity to have a deep conversation with him.
“What medicine did I take? Why did I sleep for so long?”
“The doctor said you had a severe allergy, and the injection contained a sedative. Plus, you didn’t sleep last night, you were tired, so you slept for a long time.”
Ning Xiujun had washed up at the mountain villa and waited for the young marshal all night, so of course she hadn’t slept. “No wonder.”
But she still felt something was wrong. “Call the doctor, I want to be discharged.”
After asking the doctor, it was similar to what the maid said. Ning Xiujun didn’t pursue it further.
Even if Wei Liangchen really didn’t stay with her, she couldn’t make a fuss about such a small matter.
On the other side, at the warlord’s mansion.
Mrs. Wei had prepared breakfast, but only Wei Jiaqi came down. “Where’s Xiaoxin?”
Wei Jiaqi yawned. “How would I know?”
Li Ma came over and said, “Madam, Miss Jin Ye has already gone to school. She said she had to get to school early today and wouldn’t eat breakfast.”
“Really? That’s unusual.” But it wasn’t unheard of. “Did Lao Zhang take her?”
Li Ma said yes.
Mrs. Wei hadn’t seen Jin Ye last night because she was afraid that Mrs. Ning would be bored, so she invited two other ladies to her villa to play mahjong for a few rounds. When she came back, she only heard Li Ma say that Miss Jin Ye had returned and was already asleep.
She hadn’t gone to check on her specifically.
Mrs. Wei didn’t ask any more questions. She was more concerned about her son and Ning Xiujun’s affairs. She made a phone call to the hospital and the nurse said that they were arranging for Miss Ning to be discharged.
“Where’s the young marshal?”
“They said he left early this morning, he went to the government office.”
Mrs. Wei asked again, “Was the young marshal at the hospital all night?”
“I’m sorry, madam, I’m not sure about that.” The nurse said, “It wasn’t my shift last night.”
After hanging up the phone, Mrs. Wei laughed at herself. Her son was a young man full of vigor and vitality. With such a beautiful woman by his side, how could he remain indifferent?
Once is chance, twice is fate. This marriage was probably going to happen.
At that time, in the largest suite on the top floor of the Bai Le Hotel, the largest hotel in Su City.
“I’m going to be late!”
Jin Ye didn’t even have the strength to kick him.
Wei Liangchen was like a wild wolf that could never be satisfied.
This bastard.
After being away on a campaign for over a month, he had doubled his debt to her that night.
“I wonder if the madam will find out.”
Although Wei Liangchen had said last night that he had made arrangements, she was still apprehensive. “Get up.”
In response, the man mumbled in a dreamlike voice, “Sleep a little longer with me.”
Wei Liangchen had a bad temper when he woke up. His strong, powerful arms, not sparing any tenderness, scooped her back into bed.
Jin Ye only had a bath towel, and it was only when she clung to it tightly, crying, after washing up near dawn, that he didn’t take it away.
Jin Ye really couldn’t sleep anymore. If the madam went to school, she would be in real trouble.
She pinched his nose and shouted again, “Get up!”
Finally, Wei Liangchen opened his eyes. The pupils under his raven-like eyelashes were hazy and deep. If Jin Ye hadn’t been lucky enough to see them a few times, she might have been scared to death.
As if to confirm it was her, the murderous intent in his eyes receded. In the next instant, he held her close. “You’re a little vixen? You have to leave at dawn?” Wei Liangchen was sometimes like a spoiled child, wanting what he wanted, and he wouldn’t let go. He even kissed her neck, making her itch and try to dodge him.
The phone rang.
He reluctantly reached out to answer it, his voice hoarse. “You better have a good reason to call!”
