Chapter 22
Adjutant Shen also thought, could it be that the Young Marshal, as Aunt Wei said, can’t let go of Miss Ling?
He had only been assigned to the Young Marshal’s side two years ago, and he didn’t know what happened three years ago.
Why did Miss Ling insist on going abroad?
“What are you thinking about with your face all over the place?” Wei Liangchen threw a crumpled piece of paper at him, “Did you find out about the batch of native tobacco from the Haicheng foreign merchants that I asked you to investigate?”
“I did. As you expected, Young Marshal, Master Ning is also looking for native tobacco…”
At the Warlord’s Mansion,
Jinye heard that Wei Liangchen had gone to inspect the military camp in another province for three days. She almost celebrated with fireworks. She had slept peacefully for three nights, her body had recovered, and in a blink of an eye, it was Saturday.
Jinye hadn’t yet declined Zhou Siwei’s invitation.
To be honest, she didn’t really want to decline.
If Mrs. Wei really suspected her, maybe following her wishes and marrying Zhou Siwei would be a way out, preventing her from being cornered.
Of course, the premise was that that guy would let her go.
In the morning, Jinye dragged Jiaxin to the Ni Chang Cheongsam Shop. The last cheongsam she had was made here.
Before Wei Liangchen left, he had Li Ma send her three rolls of silver dollars, enough to buy more than ten dresses.
Jinye planned to make two dresses for Jiaxin as well, since it wasn’t her money anyway.
She told her that it was her old allowance.
Before Xu Xiaoyun fell into a coma, she was very much loved by the Warlord, she was rich, and she gave her a lot of allowance, which she didn’t spend much. After her aunt fell into a coma, she left behind a small box of gold bars, which Warlord Wei kept for her.
She hid them, thinking that when her aunt woke up, she would return them to her.
“This cheongsam shop is not cheap.” Wei Jiaxin exclaimed, “If you’re offering kindness for no reason, it’s either a trick or a trap. Tell me, do you have something to ask me?”
“You know me well, Jiaxin.” Jinye laughed, “Zhou Siwei is picking us up to go to a friend’s orchard to pick peaches this afternoon, I don’t want to go alone.”
Wei Jiaxin immediately became excited, “Okay, I took a look at him at the banquet too. He’s very handsome, and his temperament is a bit like Big Brother.”
Jinye was a little surprised, “You think so too?”
“So you think so too?” Wei Jiaxin looked at her with a meaningful gaze, “People shouldn’t live in fantasy all the time, you should look ahead.”
Jinye had once written a poem on a whim, which Jiaxin saw, and she always thought that Jinye liked Big Brother.
Now that she thought about it, maybe it was a kind of hazy admiration for the older brother who had helped her when she was a young girl, a fleeting moment of heartfluttering, but the seed of love, lacking the soil to grow, gradually withered. “If you tease me again, I won’t talk to you. Quickly look at what styles you like, so the master can make them.”
The Ni Chang Cheongsam Shop didn’t have any ready-made clothes, only samples. They would make one only after you chose one, and they could patiently adjust it according to the customer’s requirements.
The two girls were looking at the samples while joking around.
Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded, “Oh, what a coincidence.”
Jinye and Wei Jiaxin looked over and saw Ling Shaomin striding in.
Behind her were two girls and an old lady.
“Yeah, what a coincidence.” Wei Jiaxin said.
Jinye didn’t respond.
She only heard the girl beside Ling Shaomin say, “She’s Xu Jinye, the Young Marshal’s hanger-on sister?”
“That’s right.” Ling Shaomin replied lightly, and came over to look at the samples as well.
Wei Jiaxin couldn’t stand her attitude, “What hanger-on? Can you speak properly? If you can’t, shut your mouth.”
“You—” Ling Shaomin glared, “What are you being arrogant about? You’re just a concubine’s daughter.”
“What’s wrong with being a concubine’s daughter? I’m still my father’s daughter. You have to apologize to my third sister.”
“Why? Did I say something wrong? She is a hanger-on.”
The two girls started arguing.
It wasn’t the first time Jinye had been called that. She pulled Wei Jiaxin, who was like a fighting rooster, away, “There’s no need to argue with a mad dog, let’s look at ours.”
Ling Shaomin glared again, “Who are you calling a mad dog?”
Jinye: “Whoever barks is the one.”
“You—” Realizing it, Ling Shaomin was even angrier. She took the sample Jinye had chosen, “What she wants, I want it all, and you have to make it for me first.”
First come, first served. Ling Shaomin was clearly bullying people.
The master tailor said, “Miss Xu chose it first.”
“So what? Do you know who I am?” Ling Shaomin’s arrogance rose, “My father is the Minister of Transportation of the North City Government, and my sister is the famous talented woman, Ling Xuewei, the apple of the Young Marshal’s eye.”
Jinye glanced at her, “Where did you come from? I only see a barking dog.”
“What did you say? You said my sister is a dog?”
Ling Shaomin let out a cry and pounced on Jinye. Jinye grabbed her hand, shifted to the side, pulled her, and then struck her back with a palm. In just two moves, Ling Shaomin was lying on the ground.
“Oh, she fell flat on her face.” Wei Jiaxin clapped her hands.
The mother who came with Ling Shaomin rushed over, wanting to slap Jinye. Jinye kicked her away, and she fell backwards on her butt. The two girls behind her screamed in panic.
“Help! Someone’s beating someone up!”
The driver and bodyguards from the Ling family rushed in. Ling Shaomin was still being stepped on by Jinye, howling, “Quickly shoot her.”
The bodyguards had guns.
As they drew their guns, Jinye’s pocket pistol in her handbag also pointed at the bodyguard. This pocket pistol was given to her by Wei Liangchen. This was the second time she used it, the first being when she shot the assassin in the hospital.
The bodyguard was startled and didn’t dare to move.
But Ling Shaomin took advantage of the opportunity to break free from under her feet. Her hair was disheveled, and she wiped her mouth, which was covered in dust. She let out another cry, pointing at Jinye, “Kill her for me.”
“Okay, come on. This is the Warlord’s Mansion’s gun.” Who can’t be intimidating by pretending to be powerful?
Ling Shaomin was only relying on the fact that she was a member of the Ling family, and her father’s position in the North City Government. Warlord Wei was still the local boss.
Sure enough, hearing the Warlord’s Mansion, the bodyguard’s hand trembled, “Fourth Miss, think carefully.”
Ling Shaomin was trembling with anger, “Fine, I won’t kill her. How she hit me, you hit her the same way. I don’t believe that Warlord Wei would dare to do anything to me, just because of a hanger-on.”
Wei Jiaxin stood in front of her, “It was clearly you who hit someone first, Third Sister was defending herself.”
The commotion was too loud, and the owner of the shop came over, “My little ancestors, what’s going on? Talk it out properly, put the guns away first.”
Ling Shaomin was sure that Jinye wouldn’t dare to shoot, so she urged the bodyguard, “Hit her, hit her quickly.”
Wei Jiaxin saw that there were more people on the other side, and she said to the owner, “Call my second brother, Young Marshal Wei, and say that his sister was bullied.” She gave them the phone number.
The owner, hearing Young Marshal Wei, trembled and almost fell over.
She quickly instructed someone to make the call.
Ling Shaomin snorted coldly, “Okay, call my brother, Ling Yuanzhou, too, and say that his sister was beaten up, and ask him to come quickly.”
The owner trembled again. The Ling family, a century-old family in Suzhou? What day is it today? Her shop is small, don’t let these two big Buddhas tear it down.
Wei Liangchen had just returned to the Warlord’s Mansion after being away for three days. He hadn’t even changed his clothes when a servant rushed over, “Young Marshal, bad news, our young lady is fighting with Miss Ling at the cheongsam shop, you need to go there quickly.”
The shop owner didn’t dare to offend either side, so she didn’t say who bullied who. She reported both calls as a fight.
Wei Liangchen asked, “Which Miss?”
Suddenly, he remembered that it was the cheongsam shop, his eyes narrowed, and he knew who it was.
Adjutant Shen rushed ahead to drive.
My god, this third Miss, she seems so sweet and innocent, but she actually causes a lot of trouble. Even buying a cheongsam, she can cause trouble.
Now it’s time to watch something interesting.
