Chapter 1: Failed Resistance
“Don’t call me mom, you beast, you didn’t cheat on me, but you dared to file for divorce.” Zhou’s mother slapped Lin Weiwan in the face.
Lin Weiwan fell to the ground by this sudden slap.
“Mom, you didn’t, believe me.”
Lin Weiwan’s mouth was bloody, and the left side of her face was swollen. The family portrait of the Zhou family was hung in the living room, and Lin Weiwan was the only one missing.
“Lin Weiwan, you are too ignorant. Even if you don’t do anything else, you should think about the reputation of our Zhou family.
You didn’t cheat on me, and the Shen family didn’t file for divorce, but you made a big deal out of it. How can we live like this?”
Zhou Weidong, as the eldest brother, sat on the sofa. When he saw his mother beating his younger sister, he didn’t stand up to stop her, but instead blamed Lin Weiwan for being ignorant. If this matter spread to the army, it might affect his promotion.
“You slut, I let you cheat, I let you ruin our family’s reputation, I let you get a divorce, you little bitch, I’m going to beat you to death today.”
Mrs. Zhou Zhang Jingshu picked up her cane and hit Lin Weiwan who was lying on the ground.
“Grandma, stop hitting me, or I’ll kill her.” Zhou Rongrong stood aside, took a deep look at Lin Weiwan, and stepped forward to pull the old and frail grandmother away.
Zhou Rongrong had been in the countryside for two years and had exchanged more than 40 letters with her husband Song Shili. Who would believe that there was no ghost? There were so many ambiguous words in them that even a fool could see what was going on between the two.
“Mom, I really can’t hold on to this marriage. Zhou Rongrong has been hooking up with my husband openly and secretly. I’m getting a divorce to make room for her. Otherwise, this adulterous couple will be dragged out to parade in the streets.” She took out the ambiguous letters between the two from her pocket.
Lin Weiwan didn’t know how to tell her family about the more embarrassing thing. She couldn’t say in front of so many people that she was still a girl during the two years she was with Shen Shili, and Shen Shili didn’t touch her.
Seeing the letters scattered on the ground, Zhou Weinan and others picked them up and took a look at them. There was an inexplicable color in their eyes.
Zhou’s mother only took a glance and had an idea in her mind.
“Rongrong and Shili were childhood sweethearts, so it’s normal for them to exchange letters. It’s normal for a young girl like her to go to the countryside as an educated youth, and it’s normal for her to find someone to confide in when she encounters something unpleasant.
What can you prove with a few letters?
You can’t seduce your own man, but you blame Rongrong. How dare you? You have a stern face all day long, like a ghost. Even if I were a man, I wouldn’t like you.”
“Lin Weiwan, don’t let you slander Rongrong. It’s not enough that you cheated on her, but you also threw dirty water on your sister. You are an ungrateful person. Rongrong went to the countryside for you for two years. How can you say such things? Are you still a human being? You don’t know how to be grateful and repay, but you bite like a dog. How can you let Rongrong live her life in the future? You are so vicious.”
The second brother Zhou Weinan has been the chief surgeon in the past two years. His career has been smooth sailing. He can’t stand this shameless sister.
Those who are raised outside are not good, even if they are biological sisters. How can they compare to the sisters raised by their own family? Even if they are adopted, they are more sensible than those outside. She had completely forgotten how her sister was lost.
“Second brother, what are you talking about? What do you mean by going to the countryside for me? I was the only daughter of the Lin family and had a job.
Did I need to go to the countryside? You begged me to return to the Zhou family. Now the job was given to the third child, and the kidney was given to the fourth child. You said that Zhou Rongrong, the adopted daughter of the Zhou family, went to the countryside for me.
Without me, Lin Weiwan, Zhou Rongrong, who had no job, would not have gone to the countryside and could have stayed in Hai City?”
Lin Weiwan shouted frantically, venting the grievances she had suffered in the past few years.
Lin Weiwan’s mind had never been so clear as it was now. Since her grandfather passed away, the Zhou family enthusiastically came to recognize her relatives, and then she donated a kidney to the fourth child of the Zhou family and gave her job to the third child of Zhou who had been in the countryside for three years.
Instead, she was arranged to be married by the Zhou and Shen families and was imprisoned in the Shen family. Her husband was also having an affair with Zhou Rongrong.
She didn’t expect that she, a good young man in the new era, would have accepted this relative in a confused manner when the Zhou family came to her.
Step by step, she got herself into a dead end. She played a good hand of cards badly. After marriage, she respected the elders and took care of the younger generation. She had to take care of the food and clothing of a family of more than a dozen people by herself.
I thought that the life of husband and wife was so dull and respectful until the day before yesterday when she accidentally cleaned the study and swept a book down, and found the letter hidden in the book by her husband Shen Shili.
Lin Weiwan cried for a long time and didn’t cook dinner. She packed her bags and went home to get a divorce. The simple clothes she wore when she was a girl were still the ones she wore when she was a girl.
Unfortunately, Shen Shili actually found a few gangsters to intercept her halfway, and she almost lost her innocence. If it weren’t for a tall man to rescue her, Lin Weiwan would have run home in the chaos, and I’m afraid there would have been rumors outside.
Unexpectedly, when she returned home, everyone said that she had a messy relationship with someone outside, and they threw pots of dirty water on her.
Shen Shili liked Zhou Rongrong, the adopted daughter of the Zhou family. No wonder Shen Shili never touched her after they got married for more than three years.
At first, they only said that Lin Weiwan had just had surgery and was not feeling well. After she recovered, Shen Shili gradually stopped talking about it and Lin Weiwan was too embarrassed to mention it.
She didn’t expect that Shen Shili and Zhou Rongrong would join hands to slander her.
“Are you really my relatives? How can my relatives treat me like this? I’m going to report to the police.” Lin Weiwan felt that the people in front of her were so unfamiliar.
“You are a jinx, an unfilial daughter. You dare to talk back. You are really an uneducated thing. I will beat you to death.” When Zhou’s mother heard that Lin Weiwan was going to report to the police, she jumped up and beat Lin Weiwan.
Seeing that she was at a disadvantage, Lin Weiwan hid from Zhou’s mother and ran to the door.
“Second brother, why are you still standing there? Hurry up and catch this dead girl. If I don’t slap her stinky mouth today, I will write the word Chen backwards.”
“Beat this little bitch to death. She has turned the world upside down. How could the Zhou family have such an unfilial daughter? Beat her to death.” Old Mrs. Zhou chopped the crutch in her hand with all her strength.
Zhou Rongrong held onto Old Lady Zhou’s arm, her eyes full of pride.
Seeing that Lin Weiwan was about to rush out, Zhou Weidong took two steps forward and slapped Lin Weiwan in the face.
Zhou Weidong, who came out of the army, didn’t give a light slap, and he didn’t care about Lin Weiwan. This slap directly knocked Lin Weiwan down and crashed into the small cabinet at the door. She was beaten unconscious.
Zhou’s mother walked up to her and kicked Lin Weiwan twice, “Drag her upstairs and lock her up, and tell others that she is crazy.”
Thinking of Lin Weiwan’s words about reporting to the police, her eyes went dark, she gritted her teeth as she looked at the unconscious Lin Weiwan, and reached out to pinch Lin Weiwan a few times.
Several people dragged Lin Weiwan to the second floor.
