Chapter 51: Obsessed Gu Si, Nosebleed
Ning Qingyan had just gotten up from her sleeping bag when the friction between her thighs made her wince in pain.
It turned out that the inner side of her thigh had been slightly scraped. At first, she hadn’t felt it, but now, just from a little movement, a sharp stinging sensation surged.
“My inner thigh seems to be scraped a bit. Earlier, it just felt warm, but now it hurts,” Ning Qingyan said as she sat back on the sleeping bag with a frown.
Hearing this, Wen Shijin instinctively looked down at her thigh. As if remembering something, his ears turned red, and he quickly averted his gaze. In a low voice, he said, “You should handle it yourself. Be careful.”
After saying that, Wen Shijin placed the medical kit beside her and immediately exited the tent.
Standing by the tent entrance, he took a deep breath, his heartbeat so loud it echoed in his ears. Pressing his hand to his chest, he tried to calm the emotions swirling within him.
Green Tea System: “Wen Shijin’s favorability +5.”
Inside the tent, Ning Qingyan, biting her lip while struggling to apply medicine to the scraped area, heard the system prompt and her eyes flashed slightly.
Professor Wen, finally starting to get a clue.
She had deliberately shown a bit of vulnerability to Wen Shijin after careful consideration. Wen Shijin, being so gentle and kind, had dedicated his life to the country and research. Even if he discovered she was a woman and developed feelings for her, they would likely be long-lasting and gentle, rather than overpowering.
If she rejected him, he would likely suppress his emotions rather than force her, burying his feelings quietly in his heart.
The other two, however, were a different story.
Huo Qi was ruthless and vengeful in the future, embodying the phrase “You cannot allow others to snore beside your bed.” He loathed being deceived, especially when it came to his emotions.
Gu Si was domineering in every sense. Anything he wanted, he had to have. If he didn’t succeed, he’d spend his entire life trying, which explained his later success as a triple-award-winning actor and director, renowned for creating masterpieces that pursued absolute perfection.
If these two found out how long she had been deceiving them, they’d likely explode with anger. Even if her favorability points saved her from their vengeance, they would never let her leave. They would do everything in their power to keep her by their side, robbing her of her freedom.
Ning Qingyan only wanted to max out their favorability points, exchange everything in the system’s shop, and live a luxurious life with her dividends—buying whatever she wanted, playing however she pleased.
Once she had enough money, why would she need to keep fishing? Wouldn’t all the fish just voluntarily jump into her pond?
Thinking of the fishpond, she suddenly recalled a pair of pure, lychee-like eyes from her past life, so pristine they were like a blank canvas.
Her body shivered, and she shook her head, forcing the memories away.
Meanwhile, Gu Si, nearing the tent, subconsciously switched from holding a coconut with both hands to one hand. Looking up, he saw Wen Shijin standing like a wooden stake at the tent entrance, seemingly lost in thought.
It was the first time Gu Si had seen Wen Shijin so dazed, not even noticing his approach.
Could Ning Qingyan’s injury be serious?
Thinking this, Gu Si felt a pang of worry and hurried past Wen Shijin to lift the tent flap. Wen Shijin, snapping out of his thoughts, quickly grabbed Gu Si’s arm to stop him.
While he managed to halt Gu Si’s entry, he couldn’t stop Gu Si’s quick hand from pulling open the tent flap. Gu Si froze in place, his gaze locking onto the scene inside.
The boy was sitting sideways, his long white shirt draped down to the floor, covering the tops of his thighs. His fair, slender legs were bent as he applied bandages.
Startled by the noise, the boy raised his clear peach blossom eyes to look at him, his face flushing like a startled deer. Hastily, he grabbed the nearby pants to cover his legs. But how could the pants fully conceal them? The snow-white, delicate legs peeked through, even more enticing.
Green Tea System: “Gu Si’s favorability +10.”
Green Tea System: “Wen Shijin’s favorability +5.”
Wen Shijin instinctively glanced inside. His ears turned crimson as he pulled the tent flap down, shoved Gu Si to the ground, and removed his earpiece to prevent the livestream from capturing any sound. His usually gentle voice was now cold and stern.
“Don’t you know to knock before entering? Is this how you were raised?”
Sitting on the ground, Gu Si, uncharacteristically, didn’t retaliate. Stunned, his heart pounded as if trying to burst out of his chest.
The next moment, Gu Si felt a warm trickle from his nose—two streams of blood flowed down.
Seeing this, Wen Shijin’s anger flared further. Taking a deep breath, he rasped, “Gu Si, you’re not allowed to speak about this, not—”
Before he could finish, Gu Si scrambled to his feet, his voice panicked. “I know! You don’t have to say it!”
Covering his nose, Gu Si bolted toward the shore.
Watching his retreating figure, Wen Shijin frowned deeply. His anger burned brightly—at himself for daydreaming and failing to guard the tent, and at Gu Si for barging in without knocking.
“WTF, what just happened inside the tent? The camera didn’t catch it!”
“OMG, Wen Shijin actually got mad! He even pushed Gu Si to the ground and tore off his earpiece! What the heck happened?”
“Why is Gu Si bleeding? Did Wen Ge hit him in the nose?”
“Wait, wasn’t Ning Qingyan just treating a hand injury? Why are both of them reacting like they’ve seen something R-rated?”
Meanwhile, Ning Qingyan quickly finished treating her leg and changed into loose pants, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
She hadn’t expected Gu Si to be so impulsive as to barge into the tent.
Still, hearing the system’s favorability notifications, she smirked slightly—an unexpected bonus.
Elsewhere, Gu Si washed away his nosebleed at the shore, but no amount of cold seawater could cool his flushed face. Thoughts of the scene he had just witnessed left his heart racing and his entire body aflame.
Ning Qingyan, meanwhile, walked toward Huo Qi and Qiao Li, who were crafting makeshift fishing spears, plotting her next move.
