Chapter 14: Sending Peaches
After a while, half of the underground space was vacated, and the boxes wrapped in oilcloth and waterproof cloth were exposed on the other side.
At a glance, half of the 80-square-meter space was filled with gold bricks that Lin Weiwan had taken away.
The other half was neatly stacked boxes, each of which could hold two adults.
There was also a large object placed against the wall. To save time in case the Zhou family suddenly came back, Lin Weiwan quickly put nearly a hundred boxes into the space, cleaned up all the dust on the ground, quickly returned to the ground, closed all the stone doors and restored them, and even dug up the soil in the rockery. She stuck her head out to make sure no one was there before quickly running back into the house.
When she returned to her room, the space could not be opened again, and Lin Weiwan was not in a hurry.
Taking out bamboo baskets and baskets from the back kitchen, Lin Weiwan prepared to pick all the peaches on the tree. Half of them were kept for eating, and the other half were made into dried peaches.
The rice jar and noodles at home were empty, and Lin Weiwan didn’t eat much when he was alone. After the Zhou family came, they ate all the rice in the past two days.
Lin Weiwan looked at the things in the kitchen that had been almost used up. Now the Zhou family had less than a thousand yuan in cash.
Zhou Weinan’s surgery alone would cost a lot. I wonder what the Zhou family’s expressions would be when the time comes.
Lin Weiwan happily picked peaches under the tree and picked all the red peaches.
The harder ones were placed at the bottom of the frame, and the ripe ones were placed on the top of the frame.
After a while, most of the peaches on the tree were picked by Lin Weiwan.
“Thank you, you’ve worked hard.” Lin Weiwan leaned against the tree and patted the big peach tree.
This tree was planted the year Lin Weiwan came to the Lin family.
There were no flowers or plants planted in the entire Lin family yard except for a small vegetable garden.
The girl leaned against the tree in a white skirt, whispering softly to the tree. The mottled sunlight shone through the leaves on the girl’s face, and time seemed to stand still.
There were six fruit trees in the front and back yards of the Lin family. They were all planted by Grandpa Lin and Lin Weiwan himself.
There is a big citron tree in front of the window in the front yard. Every time the citrons are ripe, Lin Weiwan likes to pick them and put them in the room as natural aromatherapy.
In addition to the citron tree in the front yard, there are peaches, apricot trees, loquats, pears and a big longan tree in the backyard.
Even if the old man didn’t say it, Lin Weiwan knew the meaning of the old man planting trees. The Lin family has always had a sparse population. Now that they are here, the situation is turbulent and not even a descendant can stay.
This is the lush fruit tree. Not only can Lin Weiwan eat it every season, but it is also the expectation of the old man Lin.
After moving the peaches back to the kitchen, Lin Weiwan took the packed box from upstairs and put it on her wrist.
She walked out of the yard with the box and came to the door next door and knocked on the door.
“Xiao Wan is here, come in quickly.” Liu Huifang saw a girl holding a basket of bright red peaches outside the door.
“Aunt Fang, I’m here to give you peaches.” Lin Weiwan handed the box to Liu Huifang.
Liu Huifang took the frame and put it aside. She looked around and pulled Lin Weiwan into the house.
“Xiao Wan, tell your aunt if you were bullied.” Liu Huifang had been paying attention since the Zhou family came, fearing that the little girl would be bullied.
“Aunt, I’m fine. I wasn’t bullied. Don’t worry.” Lin Weiwan couldn’t help but get closer to Liu Huifang. As neighbors for so many years, Liu Huifang took care of her as her daughter.
When the Zhou family came, Liu Huifang was the first to oppose her recognition of her relationship with the Zhou family.
But the fool had been kicked in the head by a donkey at that time, and let the wolf into the house.
“You, remember, don’t endure anything. If you are bullied, tell your aunt and I will drive them out.
Keep your things by yourself and don’t let them cheat you.” Liu Huifang told Lin Weiwan worriedly.
Lin Weiwan’s eyes were slightly red and he couldn’t help but hug Liu Huifang’s waist and buried his head in Liu Huifang’s chest. A muffled voice came from Liu Huifang’s chest.
“Aunt Huifang.” Lin Weiwan felt warm in her heart. In her previous life, Aunt Liu had always opposed the Zhou family’s recognition of relatives and moving in, fearing that Lin Weiwan would be bullied.
“Aunt, can I keep this with you for safekeeping?” Lin Weiwan handed the small box in her hand to Aunt Huifang.
Liu Huifang saw the box Lin Weiwan handed to her, looked around and closed the door. She pulled Lin Weiwan into the house.
“Xiaowan, did you encounter any problems? Tell your aunt and I will take care of it for you.” Liu Huifang looked Lin Weiwan up and down, rolled up her sleeves to check, and felt relieved when she didn’t see any scars.
“Aunt, the Zhou family has been acting strange these days. They want me to give up my job. Zhou Weibei, the old man of the Zhou family, seems to be sick.
Grandpa Zhou actually asked me to give my kidney to Zhou Weibei.” Lin Weiwan finished speaking with a frown.
“What…” Liu Huifang jumped up from the sofa and her voice became much louder.
“Xiaofang, what’s wrong?” Old Master Qin came down from upstairs, followed by a taller figure.
Lin Weiwan stood up and looked towards the stairs. The man behind Old Master Qin was about 1.89 meters tall, with long and powerful legs wrapped in black pants, and every step he took down the stairs was full of power and beauty.
The dark eyes on his handsome and charming face were deep and distant, and his thin lips were tightly pursed, and one glance at him seemed to make people fall into it.
Wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses made the whole person more elegant and gentlemanly, and less evil.
Lin Weiwan glanced at him and turned to look at Old Master Qin, no longer looking at this man. It must be said that this is a top-notch man.
“Dad, Xiaowan is here.” Liu Huifang saw her father-in-law coming downstairs and took Lin Weiwan to Old Master Qin.
“Grandpa Qin.” Lin Weiwan looked at Old Master Qin with a smile and called sweetly.
“You girl haven’t been here to accompany me for some time. This is the grandson of my old comrade, Ye Jibai.”
“Xiaobai, this is the little girl from the Lin family, Lin Weiwan.”
“Hello, Comrade Ye.” Lin Weiwan greeted him lightly, without getting close to the man.
“Hello, Comrade Lin.” Ye Jibai’s voice was low and cold.
The four of them sat in the living room, their faces were a little heavy.
“Xiaowan, what are your plans?” Old Master Qin looked at the little girl.
“Grandpa Qin, I definitely don’t agree with what they said, but I have some doubts about the relationship between the Zhou family and me.
If I have a chance, I will find a way to check it out. I hope to keep this box of things with you for the time being, after all, there are many people in the family now.”
Lin Weiwan didn’t say anything bad, but the meaning of her words was understood by several people. Now that she had let the wolf into the house, Lin Weiwan wanted to leave a back-up for herself.
“Don’t worry, just leave the things with Grandpa Qin. I’ll find someone to help you check the Zhou family’s affairs.
You live a peaceful life. I’ll notify you when there’s news.” Grandpa Qin’s words made Lin Weiwan smile widely.
