Chapter 6: Waking Up to an Assassination Attempt After the Waves

“No problem.” The truck driver, although curious about why the customer was buying such a large variety of items, only wondered about it in his mind. He then called over a colleague, “Let’s finish unloading this truck first. After that, let the ones in the back know to wait.”

A young worker nodded and quickly ran to inform his colleagues at the logistics truck behind them.

Inside the warehouse, Xie Zhizhi was checking the delivery list while unpacking the goods. She knew exactly what she had ordered, ticking off each item as she went.

The entire warehouse was bustling with truck drivers coming and going, unloading packages.

By noon, the logistics truck carrying her medical supplies also arrived. She had purchased the best medicine at the lowest price, but even so, it had cost her nearly a million.

It wasn’t until after 9 p.m. that the number of trucks dwindled, and her 500-square-meter warehouse was nearly full.

One young worker, having seen dozens of trucks arrive, couldn’t hold back his curiosity. As Xie Zhizhi was signing for a package, he finally asked, “Miss Xie, are you stockpiling goods?”

Without changing her expression, Xie Zhizhi replied seriously, “I’m preparing to open an online store. Testing each product first.”

“I see.” Noticing that she immediately went back to unpacking and clearly didn’t want to elaborate, the young worker dropped off the remaining packages and drove off with the last logistics truck.

Xie Zhizhi spent the entire night unpacking packages and organizing them in her storage space.

“If I don’t finish spending my money and end up transmigrating in my sleep, that would be such a waste,” she thought.

At dawn, she received a call from the real estate agent, who told her that five people were interested in her apartment and storefront, with two willing to pay in full.

She quickly stored away all the personal belongings of herself and her grandfather from her large apartment, even moving the sofas and bed into the space.

Because her apartment was in the center of Jiangcheng, surrounded by high schools and elementary schools, and her storefront was in a prime business district, she had no trouble selling them—especially since she was only accepting full payment and had slightly lowered the price.

For the next month, she was fully focused on selling the properties.

Once all the procedures were completed, she had 11 million from selling her apartment and 5 million from the storefront, totaling 16 million in her bank account.

Experiencing countless dreams over the past month had made her mentally prepared—if a disaster struck, she definitely wouldn’t panic as much as she had initially.

With the remaining 2 million from before, her total funds reached nearly 20 million.

First, Xie Zhizhi went straight to the mall and bought pure gold bars and silver jewelry. Then, she picked up the large truck, tractor, excavator, and crane she had ordered a month ago.

With the last of her money, she purchased a cargo ship and a helicopter. Her grandfather had insisted she learn how to operate all kinds of vehicles and obtain licenses once she became an adult.

Now, it was finally coming in handy.

After handling all the paperwork, she drove her Range Rover, truck, and tractor into a secluded corner of the woods and stored them away, making several trips before heading to the seaside to park the helicopter on the ship.

Then, she set sail alone.

She spent an entire day drifting at sea, fishing and enjoying fresh seafood. When the opportunity arose, she stored the helicopter in her space.

That night, as she prepared to sleep inside her storage space, she decided to store away the ship as well.

However, just as the ship disappeared—

Her body lost its footing. Before she could enter her storage space, a massive wave surged toward her!

Her eyes widened as she watched the towering waves rise higher and higher, her heart pounding in her chest. She quickly chanted, “Enter warehouse!”

But her space failed to respond.

“Enter warehouse!”

Still, nothing.

The roaring waves crashed over her, completely submerging her.

Before losing consciousness, she cursed, “You’re not just a dog, you’re the worst kind of dog!”

Daxing Empire.

Outskirts of the Imperial City.

A Forest Path.

Five or six men in black surrounded a lone secret guard in fierce combat. Although it was broad daylight, the sky above was dark and ominous, as if a storm was about to break out.

The oppressive air made one’s heart feel restless.

“Jing Yi! Protect the young lady!”

A cold, commanding voice rang out.

The female guard called Jing Yi stood firmly in front of a carriage, wielding her sword bravely. Blood splattered in all directions from the enemies on horseback.

The horses neighed wildly, hooves stomping in panic.

Seven black-clad assassins surrounded the carriage, attempting to break through Jing Yi’s defenses. The only other two secret guards were also pinned down, clearly struggling to hold their ground.

Inside the carriage lay a young girl, unconscious and dressed in light, elegant clothing. No matter how chaotic the battle outside, she remained motionless.

Until now.

Her eyes slowly opened.

It was none other than Xie Zhizhi, who had been knocked out by the waves!

The sounds of battle outside startled her awake instantly, clearing her mind in a flash.

What the hell was happening?

She looked down and found herself wearing a flowing, ancient-style, light-orange robe.

She had really transmigrated!

Her first instinct was to check if her “dog” space was still there. To her surprise, not only was it still present, but it had even upgraded.

Could it be that it had been upgrading earlier, which was why it failed to let her in at the last moment?

Just then, a furious roar sounded outside.

“Kill her!”

Less than ten seconds later, she heard a woman’s pained groan close by—it was probably one of the guards protecting her.

Immediately after, a shadow flickered past the left side of the carriage.

The next second, the curtain was pierced by a sword, aiming straight for her face!

Damn it, an ambush?

Xie Zhizhi’s eyes turned fierce. She quickly dodged to the side, barely avoiding the blade. Instinctively, she clamped her fingers around the sword’s edge, flicked it upward, and then pushed it forcefully outward.

Her strength was fully unleashed in this world!

“Is it always this exciting right from the start?” There was no fear on her face—only eagerness.
