Chapter: 40 Loss of Money
“I am even more wronged. I listened to them and wanted to help catch people. My arm is broken.” The man had a pointed face and monkey cheeks. He held his arm like a monkey in a zoo.
He originally thought that he could take advantage of the chaos to steal something, but he ended up breaking his arm. Today was really unlucky.
“Lin Weiwan, why do you have to be so serious? You have nothing to lose. Why do you keep harping on it? We are all educated youth who went to the countryside. We are young and it is normal to have some quarrels. You knew each other before and are relatives. How can you be so cruel to ruin the lives of two girls?”
Shen Shili stood on the commanding heights again and accused Lin Weiwan.
The conductor listened to Shen Shili’s words and thought that if this matter was made public, his career would probably be recorded. He suddenly thought that it would be better if the matter was resolved internally.
“Yes, you are right. I am too serious. Who made me lonely and helpless? My parents died in the war. Now, I can be slandered and killed just because of a piece of braised pork.
If it weren’t for the train conductor, I’m afraid my body would be cold by now.
Everyone’s hatred for capital has been transferred to me by some people, making me, the orphan of a martyr, bear everything that I shouldn’t have.”
Lin Weiwan said with tears dripping down her face. Everyone can cry.
“What are you talking about? Our Rongrong said that she didn’t mean it. Do you want to bully others?”
Shen Shili argued that Zhou Rongrong should not be taken away.
“You said this yourself, but do you believe it?” Lin Weiwan looked at the educated youth who had calmed down with her red eyes.
“We don’t believe it. It was indeed them who incited everyone’s emotions and almost caused a disaster.”
“Yes, if they hadn’t said one thing after another and tried to make it true, we wouldn’t have been impulsive.”
“Catch them. People like this are going to go to the countryside. Don’t let them harm the poor farmers.”
“Xiao Wan, I was wrong. Please forgive me. I really didn’t mean it. I didn’t know it would turn out like this. I’m only 18 years old. If I was taken to the police station, my life would be ruined.
Please, I was wrong. Please forgive me.” Seeing that things had developed to this point, Zhou Rongrong could only come out and apologize to Lin Weiwan with a stiff face.
Wang Qiaoyun and Aunt Zhang saw Zhou Rongrong like this, and hurriedly apologized.
“Lin Weiwan, they have all apologized to you. Don’t push it too far. We are all educated youth who went to the countryside together. Don’t you really care at all and want to make a scene?”
Shen Shili supported Zhou Rongrong, who was about to kneel down to Lin Weiwan, and looked at Lin Weiwan with fire in his eyes.
“Shen Shili, don’t be shameless. You have no right to speak here. You are not in a position to point fingers in front of me. Who do you think you are?”
Lin Weiwan looked at Shen Shili who was jumping in front of him. He was still jumping like this after taking out the firewood from under the cauldron. Didn’t he take out all the firewood?
I’ll have time to look at the things of the Shen family in the space later.
“Comrade Lin, I will compensate you, just let me go. My arm is broken. I really got into trouble.”
The man quickly took out a blue checkered handkerchief from his inner pocket.
The conductor’s eyes moved and he walked to Lin Weiwan.
“Comrade Lin, let’s talk outside.”
Lin Weiwan thought about it and nodded in agreement. He packed his things and followed the conductor with a handbag.
Several train attendants took the four people and Shen Shili who insisted on following to the conductor’s office.
“As the conductor, I feel ashamed for such a thing happening on the train. For the trouble you caused to Comrade Lin, do you choose to compensate Comrade Lin, or go to the next station to explain it to the comrades of the public security and the comrades of the Youth Office? Please consider it.”
Three of the four people said in unison that they would compensate Lin Weiwan for the trouble she caused.
Only Wang Qiaoyun did not speak.
“Comrade Wang, if you disagree, we will report it to the public security to deal with it. Don’t worry, I am just suggesting this, not forcing it. Let’s make it clear in advance, so that I, as the conductor, will not be bitten back by you.”
Wang Qiaoyun’s face turned pale with anger after listening to the conductor’s implicit words.
“I agree. I did cause a lot of trouble to Comrade Lin Weiwan.”
“Then I, the conductor, will make the decision. Each of you will compensate Lin the Youth Office fifty yuan, and this matter will be over.”
“What?”
“Fifty?”
Aunt Zhang felt confused and was about to faint. Why did she have to pay fifty yuan for her kind advice?
Wang Qiaoyun touched the small inner pocket of her chest in surprise.
“Comrade Lin, do you think this is okay?” the conductor asked Lin Weiwan.
“Since the conductor said so, I agree with the conductor’s proposal, but I have one condition. Each of you must write me an apology letter.
Write down the whole story and sign it. Of course, I hope the conductor and several crew members will sign and stamp it as a witness.”
As soon as Lin Weiwan said it, Zhou Rongrong jumped up to object.
“No, I don’t agree.” Zhou Rongrong directly objected. Writing an apology letter is evidence.
“Then let the public security personnel and the Revolutionary Committee handle it, so that I won’t be accused of capitalist style and extorting your money. If you don’t admit it, it will cause misunderstandings.”
After Lin Weiwan finished speaking, he didn’t care about the expressions of the others, picked up his bag and was about to leave.
“Hey… I agree, but I don’t have enough money.” Wang Qiaoyun was the first to agree. Anyway, no one knows how much money they have.
First, I want to buy a good one, and second, I want Lin Weiwan to take less of his own money.
“The compensation cannot be less. If you agree, write it quickly. Let’s sign it and don’t waste the train conductor’s time.”
Lin Weiwan looked at the other three.
The man quickly took out five big unity notes from his pocket, cursing in his heart that he gave the money away before it was even warm.
Thinking of something else, he looked like he had let it go. He looked at Lin Weiwan. “Comrade, I don’t know how to write a few words.”
Lin Weiwan looked at the train conductor.
“Just write what I tell you to write.” The train conductor asked the conductor to take out paper and pen.
Wang Qiaoyun took out twenty-five yuan from her pocket and gave it to Lin Weiwan, “Lin Weiwan, this is all I have in my pocket. I’ll need this money when I get to the countryside.”
“It’s okay. If you don’t have enough, I’ll send a letter to your brother’s factory and ask him to help you pay it back.” Lin Weiwan watched Wang Qiaoyun playing tricks on him.
Thinking of Wang Tao’s work, Wang Qiaoyun still cruelly handed the five big unity notes to Lin Weiwan. The light of hatred in her eyes could not be concealed.
“Comrade Lin, I’ll write you an IOU. I don’t have any money at the moment.” Aunt Zhang quickly found a piece of paper to sign the IOU for Lin Weiwan. “You and Zhou Rongrong must pay me. I won’t accept your IOUs.” Lin Weiwan directly rejected Aunt Zhang’s plan.
“Why? I don’t have any money.” Aunt Zhang roared angrily, her voice becoming a little sharper.
