Chapter 183: Bribing in Advance

Su Yu reached out and rubbed Xiao Bao’s head. “No need to give anything to Great-Grandpa. Great-Grandpa is already on his way here. Even if you give it to him, he won’t accept it.” (He ment Su Xi)

“Great-Grandpa is coming? That’s great!” Xiao Bao said happily. “Brother, let’s go pick watermelons and give them to Great-Grandpa.”

“Sure.” Xiao Zhi nodded, put down his pen, and followed Xiao Bao out.

Su Yu took Xiao Bao and the others to pick watermelons. Grandma Wang was surprised when she saw them. “Where are they going?”

“He’s taking Xiao Bao to the farm to pick watermelons. He plans to bribe his grandfather in advance by bringing Xiao Bao along.” Wang Jinhe chuckled at his own words.

But thinking about it, there didn’t seem to be any problem. This was indeed bribing in advance.

“Why didn’t he think of bringing something for his grandfather before? Now that he needs help, he remembers to bring gifts. This child, Xiao Yu, is really something.”  Grandpa Wang shook his head helplessly.

Wang Jinhe covered her mouth and laughed sneakily. Su Yu was in for a scolding.

“He probably sent something privately before. I remember he mentioned that he has a good relationship with his Maternal grandfather. He once said that he and his brother learned martial arts from their Maternal grandfather. Oh, by the way, Grandpa Su Xi is coming.” Wang Jinhe realized he hadn’t mentioned this matter to Mr. Wang and quickly spoke up.

Granpa Wang immediately understood the reason for Su Xi’s visit.

Wang Jinhe nodded continuously. “Grandpa, you’re right. If Yang Shanshan hadn’t done such a thing, I guess  Big Brother would already have a complete family now?”

Su Jiu was also devoted; it had been six years since the person passed away, and he still hadn’t moved on.

Hopefully, he would meet someone who could help him move on from the past.

“Who can deny that?” Six years, if there were children, they would be five years old by now.

After Su Yu and Xiao Bao picked the fruits and returned, he had Yuan Lin personally deliver them along with the letter of complaint.

After Yuan Lin left, Su Yu’s mood calmed down, but he couldn’t help but worry about his sister.

“What are you worried about?” Wang Jinhe asked.

“I’m worried about my sister. Can Xiao Jiu bring my sister and Ling’er over for a while? Use the fruits and vegetables here to help her recover?” Su Yu hesitated for a moment and looked at Wang Jinhe.

Wang Jinhe thought it was something serious but immediately agreed, “Your sister is my sister too. This is your home, and you are the owner here. If you want to invite them to stay for a while, it’s definitely okay. The houses on your side are almost ready, and they can move in when they come.”

Wang Jinhe knew that when Su Yu was building their houses, he had even left rooms for his brother, sister, and older cousin, in case they came over to play and had no place to stay.

“Go write a letter to your brother. His mood must not be good right now. It’s better to let him tell the emperor that the wine is ready and ask him to come over to pick it up. It’ll also help him relax.” Suddenly reopening old wounds from several years ago would surely affect Su Jiu’s mood. Since they were inviting them over to relax, they might as well do it together.

Gu Shi agreed with a nod, “Xiao He is right. Xiao Yu, ask your brother to come and relax too.”

After finishing the letter, he had Lightning deliver it to him.

Xiao Yu specially brewed it for the Empress Dowager and you. Xiao Yu suggested that after you bring it back, the Empress Dowager should have a glass every night. After some time, it should help alleviate some of the minor ailments and pains on the Empress Dowager’s body.”

The Emperor’s eyes lit up when he heard this. “Really?”

The Empress Dowager had not been well since giving birth to him. Her health had been seriously compromised to save him. If there was anything he could do to improve her health, he was willing to do it.

“Yes, Xiao Yu said that Xiao He openly expressed her desire to hold onto your and the Empress Dowager’s thighs.” Su Jiu shook his head with a smile.

Only Xiao He would dare to say such things, right?

The Emperor was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter. “If it can help improve the Empress Dowager’s health a bit, I’ll gladly let her hold onto my thigh.”
