Chapter 61: Not His Biological Son
Gu Jiali was dragged home by the angry Gu Qingci. When Gu Jiaqi saw that his father was angry, he was too frightened to continue his tantrum and quickly ran to catch up.
It was Jiang Huaijin’s first time at the amusement park, and he was excitedly looking around. Shen Yunhe, noticing that his son had turned into Huajin, tentatively called out his name.
“Huajin.”
“Hmm, it’s me, Dad.”
“Why are you out here at this time?”
“He got angry and couldn’t control himself, so I came out!” Jiang Huaijin replied.
Shen Yunhe patted his hair. “Well then, let’s have some fun, son. Who knows when we’ll have the chance to come out and play like this again?”
“Okay!” Jiang Huaijin smiled brightly, tilting his head happily. Jiang Banyue also noticed Huajin, and since they had argued last time and hadn’t reconciled, she felt awkward and didn’t know how to start a conversation with him.
Shen Yunhe bent down and whispered in his ear, “Mom misses you. Don’t you want to talk to her?”
Jiang Huaijin tilted his head and looked at his mom, then smiled and reached out to take her hand awkwardly. “I’m afraid of getting lost. Mom, hold my hand.”
“Okay!” Jiang Banyue’s eyes glistened with tears as she tightly grasped her son’s hand, unwilling to let go.
Shen Yunhe held both his son and daughter’s hands. Song Mingzhu, feeling tired from running around, leaned against her father for a rest.
At noon, after the children were exhausted from playing, both families decided to have lunch at the amusement park’s restaurant. The restaurant was decorated in a playful, child-friendly style, and there was even a special area for kids to play. The children hastily ate a few bites of food before running off to play again.
Jiang Huaijin sat obediently on a bench, eating his meal while listening to the adults gossiping.
“Jiang, do you really think Gu Jiaqi isn’t Gu Qingci’s biological son?” one of the adults asked.
“Who knows?” Jiang Banyue continued eating, casually chatting with An Xiuxiu.
An Xiuxiu turned to look at Jiang Huaijin, smiling as she asked,
“Huajin, how do you know that Gu Jiaqi isn’t Gu Qingci’s biological son?”
“It just isn’t!” Jiang Huaijin responded with a smile. An Xiuxiu tilted her head in confusion, not understanding why Jiang Huaijin was so sure. Song Shiyan quickly shoved a chicken wing into her mouth.
“Eat your food, why do you have so many questions?”
“I’m curious!” An Xiuxiu bit into the chicken wing.
“Gu Qingci is such an arrogant man, and yet he was cuckolded? Gu Jiali is really bold.”
Song Shiyan felt sorry for his friend, thinking that marrying such a woman had ruined his whole life.

At the Gu family home, Gu Qingci yanked Gu Jiali out of the car and stormed back to the yard. With a dark expression, he threw her into the yard. Gu Jiali fell onto the ground, screaming in fright.
“Ah! Gu Qingci, how dare you lay a hand on me! My family will never forgive you!”
Gu Qingci angrily shouted,
“Fine, I’ll see how the Gu family doesn’t forgive me! Gu Jiali, I want a divorce! Take your son and get out of my house!”
Gu Jiaqi, crying, ran into the house. Hearing her grandson’s cries, Gu’s mother rushed out in panic.
“What happened? Weren’t you just out playing? Why are you back crying? Oh my dear grandson, why are you crying? Come to Grandma.”
“Grandma… woo… Daddy is bullying Mommy…”
Gu Jiaqi ran into Gu’s mother’s arms. She anxiously comforted her grandson while scolding Gu Qingci.
“You want to punish your wife? Go inside and shut the door to do it. Don’t do it in front of my grandson! What if you scare him?”
“Mom!” Gu Qingci couldn’t bear to tell the truth.
“Gu Jiaqi is not your grandson, he’s your daughter-in-law’s child with another man!”
Gu’s mother was stunned. She looked at her grandson, who didn’t resemble her son at all, her mind going blank.
“You’re crazy!” Gu Jiali screamed as she got up from the ground. “Gu Qingci, you’re just listening to a child’s one-sided story and doubting me? You’re insulting me!”
“Is that so?” Gu Qingci took a step forward and yanked Gu Jiaqi out of his mother’s arms.
“In Beijing, there’s a medical institute that can do a paternity test. Let’s go right now. If it turns out that Gu Jiaqi is not my son, Gu Jiali, you’d better watch out!”
“No! I won’t do it!” Gu Jiali panicked and rushed over to pull her son back. “You’re doubting me, you’re insulting me! You want to do a paternity test? This is an insult to me! I’d rather die than do it!”
“Hmph!” Gu Qingci tilted his head and tugged at his collar, letting out a cold laugh. He had initially just suspected it, but now, seeing how guilty Gu Jiali looked, he was certain. This child wasn’t his.
“Gu Jiali, you’re guilty. You’re too scared to do it. Fine, I want a divorce. I’m sending you and your illegitimate son back to the Gu family. I won’t keep him!”
“You…” Gu Jiali was so angry she couldn’t speak. She turned to look at Gu’s mother and shouted, “Old woman, aren’t you the one who spoils your grandson the most? He’s calling your grandson an illegitimate child, aren’t you going to help?”
Gu’s mother finally reacted, her finger trembling as she pointed at Gu Jiali.
“Gu Jiali, tell me the truth—Is Jiaqi really my grandson? Speak!”
Gu Jiali shivered at the sight of the furious mother and son. Realizing there was no way out, she decided to break down completely.
“Yes, Jiaqi is not your grandson. He’s the child I had with another man. As for who that man is, I don’t even know. Hahaha! Ever since I married him, he hasn’t even touched me, and yet you kept pushing me to have a grandson. How could I have one without cheating? This isn’t my fault! If anyone’s to blame, it’s your son! He’s useless!”
Slap!
Gu’s mother slapped her hard across the face, enraged to the point of nearly collapsing.
“Give me back my grandson!”
“You hit me! You dare to hit me, you old woman! I’ll fight you!”
Gu Jiali went crazy, lunging at Gu’s mother and fighting her. Gu Qingci grabbed her and threw her to the ground. Gu Jiaqi, crying, ran to his mother.
“You’re bullying my mom! I’m going to find Uncle Wang and Uncle Zhang to beat you!”
“What Uncle Wang and Uncle Zhang? Gu Jiaqi, you better explain yourself!” Gu Qingci grabbed his son by the arm, angrily questioning him, scaring Gu Jiaqi into silence.
Gu Jiali, afraid her son might say something wrong, screamed in panic, “Gu Qingci, you’re bullying us mother and son! I’m going home. My parents will never let you off!”
With that, Gu Jiali yanked her son and ran out. Gu’s mother sat down in a daze, tears falling from her eyes. After a moment, she started crying out loudly.
“Old man! Give me back my grandson! How could my precious grandson be gone? That damn Gu Jiali! My grandson…”
After the outburst of anger, Gu Qingci realized that Gu Jiaqi was not his son and, surprisingly, felt a sense of relief. He began laughing hysterically around the yard.
He was finally free!
Gu’s mother was terrified by her son’s reaction.
“Son, what’s wrong with you?”
