Chapter 85: Brother Jiang’s Wedding

In the blink of an eye, it was September 18th, the day of Brother Jiang’s wedding.

Early in the morning, Jiang Banyue woke up early to go to the bakery. She was going to make a wedding cake for her brother. Shen Yunhe stayed at home, taking care of the three children while they had breakfast.

Jiang Banyue hurriedly washed up and tied her hair, and Shen Yunhe gently advised, “Don’t rush, it’s only five o’clock, there’s still time.”

“I’ll head to the store first. After you finish breakfast, bring the kids over to the store, and then we’ll go together,” she said.

“Alright, take your time on the way.”

“Got it!” Jiang Banyue, dressed in a light blue long-sleeve dress, her hair half tied, rushed out the door.

Shen Yunhe went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the children, who were still sound asleep in bed.

At the bakery, Jiang Banyue took a basket, washed several kinds of fruit, and cut them into pieces, setting them aside to prepare the fruit cake.

After finishing the cake, she made another smaller cake for breakfast. At 7:00, the bakery manager, Lin Qi, arrived for her shift.

“Boss, you’re here so early.”

Jiang Banyue smiled, “My brother is getting married today, so I’m making a cake for him.”

“Congratulations!” Lin Qi responded with a smile. “I’ll bring you some wedding candies later.”

“Thanks, boss.”

At 7:30, Shen Yunhe drove the children to the bakery. Jiang Banyue brought the large cake and got into the car.

“Let’s go!”

Jiang’s parents had booked a banquet at the hotel. Li Zhaodi, wearing a white, slightly rough wedding dress, had her hair all tied up and wore a veil. Jiang Qingyue stood by her side, keeping her company, while Jiang Qingfeng followed his older brother, offering toasts.

Shen Yunhe, holding the cake, walked into the banquet hall with the children. Jiang’s mother, wearing a bright red dress, looked lively and full of energy. When she saw her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, her smile grew even wider.

“You all go inside and help entertain the guests. I’ll stay out here to greet people,” Jiang Banyue said.

“Alright.”

As soon as she entered, she took the three children to find Jiang Qingfeng and Jiang Qingyue. The two of them sat quietly on a bench, their eyes blank as they watched the crowd.

“Qingfeng, Qingyue.”

The two turned their heads and exclaimed in surprise,

“Auntie, you’re here!”

The three children sat down as well, and Jiang Banyue placed the cake on the table.

“Yunhe, stay here and watch the kids. I’ll go help out.”

“Okay.”

Just then, a frenzied woman barged in, causing a commotion as she shouted loudly,

“Jiang Chenggong! How dare you give my children a stepmother? I won’t allow it!”

“Li Mei! What are you doing?”

Jiang Chenggong strode forward, grabbing Li Mei to drag her outside. Jiang Qingfeng and Jiang Qingyue panicked and quickly followed.

“Dad! Mom!”

Jiang’s father and mother saw how agitated Li Mei was, and in their anger, they wanted to step forward and argue. But Jiang Banyue quickly stopped them.

“Dad, Mom, today is Big Brother’s wedding day. Let’s not make things worse. Let him handle it himself.”

“Fine!”

Jiang Banyue pulled her mother over to the bride’s side. Jiang’s mother patted Li Zhaodi’s hand reassuringly.

“Don’t worry, Li Mei won’t affect you in any way. She won’t ever step foot in our house again!”

Li Zhaodi finally let go of the tension she had been holding in. “Mom, I’m not worried. I trust Chenggong to handle everything.”

Outside, Li Mei’s eyes were red with anger as she glared at Jiang Chenggong.
