Empty the Palace and Exile the War King and his Family Chapter 13.2

Chapter 13.2: Su Qingyin Goes Crazy with Jealousy

The continental map in this book was similar to the one from her previous life, with Lingnan corresponding to the Guangdong and Guangxi regions of her past.

Su Qingning remembered that historically, the trade ports in the Two Guang regions had created many families wealthy enough to rival nations. Wasn’t this a tremendous opportunity?

While those around her were filled with sorrow and grief, Su Qingning felt an overwhelming excitement, as if countless mountains of gold and silver were beckoning to her.

She wished she could teleport to that “wild land” of Lingnan right now.

Seeing Su Qingning’s calm demeanor, which was a far cry from the weak girl she had been in her childhood, Lin felt much more at ease. However, she still couldn’t bear to leave and held her hand, giving her several pieces of advice.

Xiao Huaishuo, noticing this, also turned his wheelchair closer and gently comforted her:

“Don’t worry, Grandmother, we will take good care of… Ningning.”

This was the first time he had called another girl by her given name aside from his younger sister. He stumbled slightly when saying ‘Ningning,’ and a strange flush appeared on his face.

“That’s good… that’s good… Huaishuo, you’re a good child too…”

Lin’s eyes were glistening with tears as she gently patted Xiao Huaishuo.

Only then did she notice her newly appointed grandson-in-law.

The young man stood tall and straight like a green pine, with a handsome face and strong features—truly a rare beauty.

Unfortunately, he was still confined to a wheelchair at such a young age.

The more Lin looked at her grandson-in-law, the more satisfied she became. It further solidified her desire to move to Lingnan and find a famous doctor to treat Xiao Huaishuo’s leg ailment.

With that, she slowly left with her husband and children.

Meanwhile, on the Su family’s side, having just learned of the terrible news of their exile that morning, everyone was downcast, as if they hadn’t yet come to terms with it.

Although Concubine Shen’s family had benefited greatly from Su Bingsheng’s connections in the past, they were now afraid of being implicated by the Su family.

They sent a maid to drop off a bundle and left in haste.

However, the Su residence had already been stripped bare by Su Qingning, and now the entire Su family was impoverished.

Relying on the small bundle given by her family, Concubine Shen at least felt she was the wealthiest among them, speaking with more confidence than before.

Su Qingyin was devastated by the continuous bad news she received that morning, her eyes losing focus.

She initially thought that Su Qingning wouldn’t be in a much better situation than herself.

But then she saw the wealthy Gu family sending a huge bundle to Su Qingning,

and then saw Su Qingning being treated like a little princess, surrounded and protected by the Xiao family,

and finally noticed Xiao Huaishuo never leaving Su Qingning’s side. The usually aloof boy was chatting with Su Qingning’s grandmother.

The last remnants of her sanity shattered completely, and she felt herself being buried under a wave of jealousy, stifled and unable to breathe.

That position next to Xiao Huaishuo should have been hers!

Why were they not resentful towards Su Qingning, who had taken her place, but instead treated her so well?!

A glint of malicious calculation flashed in Su Qingyin’s eyes as she feigned grievance and walked over to Su Qingning.

“Sister! How could you do this to me? The engagement with the Xiao family was clearly mine! You actually knocked me out and took the wedding carriage for yourself!”

“Wuwu… Sister, you really have a heart of stone!”
