Chapter 14.1: So Stupid, Yet Here to Harm Others?
Su Qingyin deliberately raised her voice, sounding as aggrieved as possible.
She was determined to publicly pin the label of being reckless and stealing her sister’s fiancé on Su Qingning.
Not only did she want to ruin her reputation, but she also aimed to make the Xiao family despise her. Su Qingning should have a hard time on the way to exile.
To Su Qingning, her exaggerated display was just that of a clown, and she couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.
However, the Xiao family couldn’t sit idle, all glaring angrily at Su Qingyin.
Grandmother Liu Qing immediately leaned on her cane and spat on the ground.
“Bah! My Huaishuo has long been in love with Ning girl, and he was originally going to marry her. What kind of food did you grow up on to have such a thick skin?! Coming here in front of everyone to smear our Ning girl’s name!”
Sister-in-law Li Xuanyi was also stirred up with anger, stepping in front of Su Qingning and shouting:
“Exactly! Our Huaishuo was always going to marry Ningning. You’re not even worth a toe of hers, yet you have the audacity to say she stole your engagement?!”
Second sister-in-law Jiang Xinyue chimed in.
“Oh dear—this Su family is truly a nest of unscrupulous people! Not only do they want to steal our Ningning’s marriage, but they also try to turn the tables. Second Miss Su is even bolder, stealing all of Ningning’s dowry on the day of the wedding!”
Su Qingyin was flustered by the barrage of accusations and shouted in anger:
“I didn’t steal her dowry! You’re slandering me!”
Jiang Xinyue refused to back down, “I saw it with my own eyes, you can’t deny it!”
What a joke! Why would she care about Su Qingning’s dowry?!
Su Qingyin felt an overwhelming rage surge within her, and without thinking, she shouted:
“You’re talking nonsense! Her eighteen dowries are all worthless scraps! Why would I steal that stuff?!”
As soon as she said this, she noticed the peculiar looks of those around her.
She finally realized she had fallen into Jiang Xinyue’s trap.
Sure enough, she immediately heard her mocking voice:
“But you just said that our Ningning knocked you unconscious and took the wedding carriage. Now you claim that your Su family prepared a dowry for her.”
“Your statements contradict each other, and you still want to smear others?! Next time, practice your lines a few times before coming out to harm people!”
Second sister-in-law Jiang Xinyue came from a poor background, with a fiery personality and a sharp mind. In just a few moments, she had Su Qingyin stumped and speechless.
Young sister Xiao Qingya, enraged, shook her chubby little body and stuck her tongue out at Su Qingyin.
“Pfft~ We actually wanted Ning sister-in-law! If you don’t have a mirror, can’t you see what you look like?! Look at your ugly face—who would want you, a hideous monster?!”
Mother Zhang Qinxue hurriedly went over to pull her back, sternly warning:
“Ya’er! How many times have I told you not to use such vulgar language? How do you talk to people like that?!”
Xiao Qingya looked at Su Qingyin with innocent eyes and said earnestly:
“Mom, I wasn’t talking to anyone just now.”
“Uh… alright.”
Zhang Qinxue glanced at Su Qingyin, whose face was covered in pimples, rashes, and wrinkles, looking as twisted as a demon. She once again sternly instructed:
“You can’t use such filthy words even when talking to a ghost!”
The onlookers had likely pieced together the sequence of events and began gossiping among themselves.
“That young lady of the Xiao family is the eldest daughter of the Su family? She looks shorter than the second daughter. The Su family members all look well-groomed, yet this eldest daughter is so thin, it seems she must have been bullied a lot in the past!”
“This Second Miss Su’s words are contradictory, yet she dares to come out and slander others. Is she not stupid?!”
