Chapter 14.2: So Stupid, Yet Here to Harm Others?
Many people felt a strong sense of discomfort looking at Su Qingyin’s shiny, pus-filled face and couldn’t help but gag a few times.
“Ugh—If I were from the Xiao family, I would also choose the eldest daughter. Who would want that ugly thing when there’s a beauty like her?!”
“Ugh—It truly is as the saying goes, ugly people often do strange things!”
The crowd’s attitude shifted instantly, starting to blame Su Qingyin.
She was so furious that she felt like she might vomit blood but couldn’t find any words to refute the Xiao family. Tears streamed down her face as she looked at Xiao Huaishuo with a pitiful expression.
“Brother Xiao, it was clearly me who was betrothed to you! The eldest sister has been ignorant and uncultured since childhood; how could she be worthy of you?! Brother Xiao… don’t you remember me?”
The last sentence was delivered with exaggerated intonation, sounding overly sentimental.
Su Qingyin hadn’t yet adjusted to her current ugly appearance and instinctively shot a flirtatious glance at Xiao Huaishuo.
But her face, swollen and red from being drugged, looked like a pig’s head, and her once-pretty eyes were squished into two slits by the fat on her face.
To Xiao Huaishuo, it seemed like a pig with a cramp in one eye was trying to flirt with him, making him feel nauseous enough to almost vomit his leftovers.
Xiao Huaishuo quickly averted his gaze, rolling his wheelchair backwards.
“I only have one younger sister, please be mindful, Miss Su, and don’t misidentify your kin.”
He then coldly warned:
“Since it’s the first offense for Second Miss Su, I won’t hold it against you. If you dare to smear my wife again, don’t blame me for being rude!”
“You… what did you say?!”
Su Qingyin couldn’t believe how cold and heartless Xiao Huaishuo was, her face full of disbelief.
Since they had met once in their youth, she had never been able to forget him, constantly fantasizing about a beautiful future with the God of War of Da Qian.
However, at this moment, Su Qingyin felt as if her youthful dreams had been shattered in an instant, her heart aching to the point of being unable to breathe, standing frozen in place.
Xiao Qingya thought she hadn’t heard clearly and stepped forward, hands on her hips, shouting:
“My brother said he only has me as a sister, so you should get as far away as you can!”
The girl’s voice was incredibly clear, and Su Qingyin felt the last line of defense in her heart collapse.
A surge of anger welled up, and she grabbed Xiao Qingya, ready to slap her.
“You little brat! How dare you talk to me like that?!”
Several of the Xiao family’s female relatives rushed forward to rescue Xiao Qingya, but someone was faster than them.
Suddenly, a gust of wind swept through the nearby trees, and a stone flew out from behind the crowd, instantly knocking out one of Su Qingyin’s front teeth.
“Ah—”
Before Su Qingyin could even reach Xiao Qingya, she felt a sharp pain. The agony made her tear up, and she covered her mouth, cursing loudly.
“Who?! Who hit me?!”
Su Qingyin scanned the crowd, her eyes filled with hatred as she fixed her gaze on Su Qingning.
“Su Qingning! Was it you who just threw a stone at me?!”
Su Qingning looked innocent. “Sister, you need to provide evidence when you speak. I didn’t do anything just now.”
Xiao Huaishuo couldn’t help but smirk slightly.
He had just seen Su Qingning move her hand, and then a gust of wind followed.
What his wife had just done didn’t seem like traditional martial arts; it resembled some legendary special ability. Quite magical!
However, Su Qingyin wasn’t listening to Su Qingning’s words.
Seeing the hatred in the eyes of those around her, her only thought was that she couldn’t let Su Qingning off the hook either!
Filled with rage, she charged towards Su Qingning.
“You little brat! It must have been you! I’m going to make you pay today!”
