Chapter 14
Arriving at the door of two rooms in the Guo Building, Qin Zheng suddenly stopped in his tracks.
“That room is mine. Wife, you—”
Chu Ning quickly realized something and hurried to open the door in front of her.
“I’ll stay here.”
She had accepted the idea of finding a Dao partner, but she wasn’t quite ready to begin spiritual cultivation with him. Moreover, Qin Zheng, being a dual-S rank Beastman, possessed power equivalent to that of a God Transformation Realm cultivator. She feared she wouldn’t be able to handle cultivating with him.
Thinking of this, Chu Ning could feel her face warming up.
Qin Zheng was somewhat disappointed but also relieved.
Although he wanted to be with his wife, her current mental power was too low for them to cultivate together.
“It’s getting late. I’ll go in and sleep. You should head back to your room,” Chu Ning said, entering and preparing to close the door.
“Mm. Goodnight, wife,” Qin Zheng replied.
Chu Ning waved as he left, then shut the door.
Once inside, Chu Ning realized the room was large, divided into an outer study and an inner bedroom.
There was a walk-in closet in the bedroom, though it was empty at the moment.
Chu Ning looked around the room for a while before taking a towel out of her storage ring and heading to the bathroom.
After taking a refreshing bath, she felt much better and got into bed.
The bed, with its luxurious mattress, was soft and comfortable, and Chu Ning couldn’t help but sigh in contentment.
But instead of falling asleep immediately, she propped up her pillow and activated her light brain.
She typed “Qin Zheng” into the search engine and hit search.
The results made her eyes widen in shock.
Qin Zheng was a Marshal?
28 years old, dual-S rank, parents deceased for over ten years… all the information matched.
Chu Ning’s heart tightened.
What kind of luck was this? She had ended up marrying a Marshal.
This meant she was currently staying in the Marshal’s residence?
Unable to sit still, Chu Ning opened a chat window and sent Qin Zheng a message.
“You’re a Marshal?” she asked directly.
When Qin Zheng saw the message, he thought, Finally, my wife has discovered my identity.
He replied with a simple “Mm.”
Chu Ning’s pupils shrank. She was sure now—she really had walked into the luckiest of situations.
“If I had known, I wouldn’t have just given Chu Lan an itchy powder, I would’ve poisoned her and been done with it.”
With that thought, Chu Ning took the Sky-Gazing Mirror out of her storage ring.
After making a few hand gestures, she waved it in front of the mirror, and immediately the scene around Chu Lan appeared.
“Ah! My hand! It’s so itchy! Help me!”
“Curse you, ah—quick, help me—” Chu Lan, sitting naked on the bed, was frantically scratching at her hands, looking as though she was about to lose her mind.
“Alright, old scar, I’ll help you stop the itching, and stop you from feeling like you’re in heaven and hell!” The sound of a rough voice came.
A Beastman’s muscular arm wrapped around Chu Lan, pulling her into bed.
Then, a hefty body pressed down on her.
“Ah—no, old scar, it’s my hand—”
“Not some little bird, but a slutty woman, behave yourself!” The rough voice didn’t show any mercy, slapping her across the face.
Chu Lan, after being slapped, was quiet for a moment, only for her itchiness to return again.
Suddenly, the Beastman shouted, “Damn it, it’s so itchy! What happened? Chu Lan, you rotten thing, did you infect me with your disease?!”
Then came a barrage of punches and kicks.
“Haha…” Chu Ning couldn’t help but laugh, closing the Sky-Gazing Mirror and putting it back in her ring.
She decided to let Chu Lan off this time for the amusement she provided.
It was getting late, so Chu Ning yawned, turned off the lights, pulled the blanket over herself, and closed her eyes to sleep.
