70s Rebirth: The Captivating Beauty’s Flash Military Wedding Chapter 2

Chapter 2 : Everyone is alive and well.

In her previous life, the experience of transcending the tribulation was terrifying, and after she woke up, it became even more of a tragedy.

The people brought by Sun Qianqian surrounded the two of them. When Ye Suiwan saw them approaching, she wanted Xiao Yuyan to run away. But who would have thought that this man was so stubborn? He insisted on staying, saying he would take responsibility.

In her previous life, Ye Suiwan had never wanted him to take responsibility. How could an officer from the countryside be worthy of her? So, she had her father intervene. The man, who was about to go to the military corps to serve as a regiment commander after his home leave, was suppressed and sent to a Northwest farm as a stationed soldier instead.

Of course, this only happened after Xiao Yuyan’s superiors were persuaded. According to Ye Suiwan’s wishes, the man was eventually sent directly to prison, and only then did she feel satisfied.

Because of this incident, Ye Suiwan could no longer stay in the countryside. Her father pressured the Youth League Office to transfer her back to the city, but Sun Qianqian refused to let her go easily. She exaggerated everything that had happened in the countryside, spreading rumors.

Not long after Ye Suiwan returned to the city, she discovered that she was pregnant. Amidst all the gossip and finger-pointing, she had a miscarriage early in the pregnancy.

Already depressed and miserable, her health completely deteriorated, and she had to rely on medication to survive.

The beautiful, wealthy young woman who once lived in the military compound was now a sickly person whom everyone despised and avoided.

But misfortune never comes alone. Her father was reported and sent to a cowshed, where he died a few years later. Her second brother, who was in the army, heard the news and lost his life during a mission. After learning of his family’s tragic downfall, her eldest brother made grave mistakes in his research, stole scientific achievements, and was manipulated by enemies, ultimately landing in prison.

As for the others, they naturally severed ties as quickly as possible, wanting no involvement, and some even added insult to injury.

Among those who took advantage of the situation were Sun Qianqian and her mother, Liu Suxia.

The once-envied Ye family ended up shattered, a truly tragic fate.

By mistake, Ye Suiwan was sent down to the Northwest Farm, where Xiao Yuyan was stationed.

By then, he had risen from a stationed soldier to a person in charge.

When he saw Ye Suiwan again, he was surprised, but even more delighted. He had never expected to see her again in this lifetime.

Later, after learning about the downfall of the Ye family, he took care of her in the name of her fiancé. No matter what others said, he bore the pressure and simply did what he wanted to do.

Even though Ye Suiwan did not appreciate it, he still visited her every day, rain or shine, providing her with food, drinks, and daily necessities. He even tried every possible way to make her happy including teaching her some self-defense techniques.

It was during this time that Ye Suiwan realized that the man she once looked down on was, in terms of knowledge and ability, no less capable than any of the privileged children from military families.

Unfortunately, her frail body could not last. Within just two years, she passed away, full of regret.

After her death, Ye Suiwan’s soul followed Xiao Yuyan for some unknown reason. She watched him return to the military district, saw his family members die in various unexpected ways, and witnessed him rise through the ranks to become a formidable figure in Beijing’s military. He also remained a carefree widower.

However, Ye Suiwan never expected that the first thing he would do after gaining power was investigate Sun Qianqian, who had married into the prominent Jiang military family and her mother, Liu Suxia.

The crimes and shady dealings committed by the mother and daughter were exposed, and they were ultimately sentenced to death and executed by firing squad.

Only then did Ye Suiwan realize that the people who had reported her family, were the wife and daughter of a comrade whom her father had always cared for.

These two had secretly taken away the Ye family’s wealth before it was confiscated. Later, they used deceitful means to marry Ye Suiwan’s childhood sweetheart, Jiang Sui. With the Jiang family’s influence, they flourished in Beijing, with businesses spanning across industries all built upon the stolen fortune of the Ye family.

After dealing with Sun Qianqian and her mother, Xiao Yuyan had Ye Suiwan’s eldest brother released from prison and sent abroad.

Finally, he submitted his request for discharge from the army, refusing to withdraw it despite multiple attempts to persuade him otherwise.

He had earned his high-ranking position through true military achievements, braving gunfire and storms of bullets. He felt that he had repaid the army’s training of him.

When the country had become stable and prosperous, when he had done everything he needed to do, when he had arranged all his affairs, he only had one final wish:

To reunite with the woman who had passed away years ago, but still lived in his heart.

So, Ye Suiwan watched as Xiao Yuyan died before her grave.

And from that moment, she lost consciousness.

Before Ye Suiwan died in her previous life, she had already understood her feelings. However, to avoid causing trouble for Xiao Yuyan, she never confessed them out loud. What she never expected was that after her death, she would still become a burden to him.

If she were to live her life over again, she would undoubtedly marry him. She wanted him to take responsibility, and she wanted both the Ye family and the Xiao family to live good lives.

As for Sun Qianqian and Liu Suxia, she would make them experience a fate worse than death before they finally paid with their lives.

“Don’t cry. I’ll file a marriage report at dawn and marry you.”

“Do you need me to carry you?”

The man’s deep, magnetic voice rang in her ears, pulling Ye Suiwan back from her thoughts.

It turned out that, lost in memories of her past life, she had already burst into tears.

She suddenly looked up and met Xiao Yuyan’s gaze, filled with tenderness and doting affection. The girl nodded.

“You have to carry me. You made my legs weak.”

Her voice was slightly hoarse, soft and delicate, carrying a faint smile despite her tear-streaked face. She stretched out her hands toward the man.

Xiao Yuyan frowned, then reached out his large hand to wipe away the tears on her face. But the moment his rough fingers touched her soft skin, he hesitated and quickly withdrew his hand.

He was afraid of scratching her delicate face.

This action made Ye Suiwan burst into laughter. She intentionally teased him.

“You know… you could just kiss my tears away.”

Xiao Yuyan: “…” Understood.

He cupped the girl’s face, kissed away her tears without any ulterior motives, then quickly squatted down in front of her and said,

“Alright, all gone. Stop crying and get on.”

He took a deep breath as the soft warmth of her body pressed against his back.

Picking up their already-packed backpacks, the two of them walked out of the cave.

“Is this place yours?”

Completely relaxed on Xiao Yuyan’s back, Ye Suiwan watched as he skillfully covered the entrance to the cave and made a guess.

“Yeah. Before I joined the army, I used to come to the mountains to hunt. Later, I only came here occasionally when visiting relatives.”

Xiao Yuyan answered truthfully.

“Wow, you’re amazing!”

“But we don’t even know each other’s names yet!”

Even though she knew everything about him ,clearer than anyone right now, in this moment, they were still strangers having their first meeting.

“My name is Ye Suiwan. ‘Sui’ means peace every year, and ‘Wan’ means night. I’m an educated youth who just arrived in the countryside from Beijing.”

“What about you?”

Xiao Yuyan. A’Yan.

Ye Suiwan leaned her small head close to his ear, her warm breath tickling him, and she could even feel the way his body tensed slightly.

“After we get married, are you willing to go with me? But it’ll take two or three months before you can go.”

“The Corps was just established, and the conditions… might be even harsher than here.”

After Xiao Yuyan finished speaking, he didn’t hear a response right away, so he quickly added,

“It’s okay if you don’t want to go. I’ll send you all my salary, and you can live with my family. I’ll take care of you, and our house is spacious.”

“Ah, I’ve married you, so of course, I’ll go wherever you go!”

“It takes two or three months to move there. Will they be building a family compound?”

Ye Suiwan asked.

“Mm.”

That was good.

That meant she had enough time to deal with the hidden dangers lurking within the Xiao family and to eliminate the cancerous rot in the Ye family.
