Chapter 91: Girls Who Know How to Be Clingy Have the Best Luck
Chen Lu snapped out of his confident state and saw Liang Zhirou smiling at him.
In that moment, the girl was so beautiful that Chen Lu couldn’t think of any words to describe her. He could only focus on etching her current appearance into his mind.
Her eyes were slightly red, making her smile even more captivating.
“Why are you suddenly smiling?”
Chen Lu found it strange.
Liang Zhirou leaned against his shoulder again and whispered, “I just feel like smiling.”
“Why else would I call you a goofball.”
This feeling, like having a cat in his arms, made Chen Lu incredibly happy. Cats weren’t nearly this adorable.
It was still early, and going home separately felt too much of a pity. He gently patted the girl’s back, “Where do you want to go?”
“I don’t want to move,” Liang Zhirou said timidly.
“Don’t want to move?”
“Mm.” Liang Zhirou leaned closer, her whole body pressed against Chen Lu’s, “This is good enough.”
For her, even just being like this was enough to make her dream of happiness.
Chen Lu chuckled and sighed softly. This goofball really knew how to take advantage.
“Liang Zhirou, technically this is our first date, isn’t it a bit strange to just sit here?” He turned his head to look at the “ostrich” beside him and asked softly.
He wanted to hold hands, go shopping, watch a movie, or at least visit an amusement park or a haunted house.
It might be cliché, but he still wanted to experience it.
Spending the entire afternoon here felt a bit too abstract.
“Just a little while longer, okay?” Liang Zhirou looked up, her watery eyes blinking at Chen Lu, occasionally gently shaking his arm.
“Okay, you can stay as long as you want.”
Staying here was pretty good.
Chen Lu changed his mind instantly.
It was scorching hot outside. Who in their right mind would go out and play? They’d be crazy!
“Just a little while.” Liang Zhirou smiled and continued to rest her head on Chen Lu’s shoulder, not greedy at all.
Just a little while longer would be enough. She’d rather accompany Chen Lu to do what he liked.
Her face was filled with an unstoppable smile. This was the first time she’d ever been clingy with someone. It was such a happy feeling.
Her father had passed away too early, and her mother had been working so hard ever since. She had to be strong.
So whether it was seeing other kids clamoring for things when she was younger, or seeing other girls cling to their boyfriends when she grew up, she would tell herself that she didn’t need those things, she shouldn’t think about them.
She never imagined that she would have someone to cling to now.
And it seemed like he really liked it.
As the smile gradually faded, she gathered her courage and continued to look at Chen Lu. As expected, she found that Chen Lu had been watching her.
Liang Zhirou silently repeated the phrase “be reckless just this once” countless times in her heart, then continued to shake Chen Lu’s arm.
“Hurry up and say you like me… okay?” In the end, she still used such a clumsy phrase.
“I like you,” Chen Lu said seriously.
“Can you like me forever?”
Chen Lu didn’t understand what this goofball was doing, but he immediately replied, “I’ll always like you.”
“I want to stay like this all day.”
“Okay.”
The girl laughed foolishly for the first time, then said, “I want to eat ice cream…”
As soon as she finished speaking, Chen Lu stood up, “You wait here, I’ll go buy some for you.”
Liang Zhirou was startled and quickly pulled Chen Lu back down, “You… you should at least refuse.”
Chen Lu frowned and tilted his head, looking at her.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you, Liang Zhirou? What kind of brain circuit do you have?”
Liang Zhirou also felt guilty and said softly, “It feels unreal. I just act clingy and you agree to everything. It’s like I’m dreaming.”
All of this was a feeling she had never experienced before, something she hadn’t even dared to think about.
“You’re amazing.” Chen Lu couldn’t help but laugh, poking her forehead hard, “You owe me some benefits.”
The girl was stunned, then became nervous again when she heard about the benefits, “Now it’s real.”
“Goofball.”
Chen Lu was speechless, then smiled and pushed Liang Zhirou’s bangs aside, silently looking at her.
He saw the girl’s beautiful eyes trembling slightly, reflecting his own smile.
“Actually, I’m just as silly as you. As long as it makes you happy…”
After a moment, Chen Lu continued seriously:
“Even if you want the stars, I’ll get them for you.”
…
They then stayed at the deserted stairwell until noon, slowly walking out of the entrepreneurial base.
Liang Zhirou had clearly absorbed enough energy from Chen Lu and looked very satisfied.
Chen Lu had been maintaining a comfortable posture for the girl to lean on, and now his whole body ached.
As if sensing that Chen Lu was constantly shaking his shoulders uncomfortably, the girl felt very embarrassed and stood in front of Chen Lu, “I’m sorry… I didn’t know it would be so uncomfortable for you.”
Chen Lu’s acting was too good. If she had noticed anything beforehand, she wouldn’t have stayed for so long.
“It’s okay,” Chen Lu said lazily, “I’m in pain, but I’m happy.”
Then he stretched out his hand towards the girl, his five fingers clenching the air.
Liang Zhirou looked around twice, then obediently put her hand in his.
“Not bad, not bad. You really know your stuff,” Chen Lu said with satisfaction as he held the girl’s hand and walked slowly.
Although Liang Zhirou didn’t dare let Chen Lu kiss her, he could tell that she was trying very hard to change herself.
After all, she had never refused to hold hands, something she could now accept.
This frog would continue to be cooked, and sooner or later she would no longer be afraid.
“What are you thinking about?” Liang Zhirou asked curiously.
“I’m thinking about when you’ll let me kiss you,” Chen Lu said honestly.
“Do you really want to kiss me?”
Liang Zhirou asked softly, testing the waters. She felt like she had tied her own hands, but she could still control herself.
“It’s alright,” Chen Lu said nonchalantly, “You can’t escape me for the rest of your life.”
To his surprise, Liang Zhirou nodded in agreement.
Huh?
You’re making me look bad!
They originally planned to hold hands and stroll around, finding a place to eat casually.
But they ended up walking for over half an hour without realizing it.
Even more ridiculous was that neither of them reminded the other.
When they finally came to their senses, Chen Lu quickly found a restaurant.
“Wait for me here, I’ll go out for a bit.”
Liang Zhirou had just sat down when she heard Chen Lu say to her.
“Okay.”
She found it strange, but didn’t ask any further.
A short while later.
Chen Lu returned to her, wiping the sweat from his forehead and handing her something.
“Here, ice cream. I remember you said you wanted to eat it this morning.”
“…”
Liang Zhirou was instantly stunned. At this moment, she had not only decided on the name of their future children, but she had even come up with the name of their soccer team.
…
After dinner, Chen Lu was seriously considering where to go in the afternoon.
Suddenly, he received a message from Chen Mo.
Chen Mo: Good news: I did exceptionally well in English this time, my highest score ever.
Bad news: I bombed biology.
Chen Lu’s lips immediately curled up, his fingers tapping happily on the screen.
Chen Lu: Awesome! Let’s pop champagne!
He thought his little sister would reply, but she didn’t.
Chen Mo: Bro, you’re the best brother in the world. You wouldn’t want to see me beaten to death, right?
??
Chen Lu frowned, realizing that something wasn’t right.
Something’s wrong.
Before Chen Mo could reply, Wang Xiaoxia called.
Seeing Liang Zhirou staring at him curiously, he quickly suppressed the trembling in his right hand and put the phone to his ear.
“Hello, Mom, what’s up?”
The voice on the other end of the line was so calm that it sent chills down his spine, “I heard from Xiao Mo that you’re dating?”
