Gu Si’s words had already spiraled into reckless territory, leaving Ning Qingyan feeling an overwhelming sense of panic. She was so close—just one last episode away from finally being free. Could Gu Si just hold it together until the end?
Sensing the silence on the other end of the phone, Gu Si felt uneasy. The next day, he made a special trip to see the emotionless psychologist who had once hypnotized him.
Unexpectedly, the psychologist told him that repeated hypnosis for the same issue would only make him resistant to it. Hypnosis would no longer be effective. Instead, he encouraged Gu Si to pursue love bravely and not leave regrets in life.
Fueled by the psychologist’s words, the emotions and desires Gu Si had long suppressed broke free. To make things worse, no matter how he tried to contact Ning Qingyan over the past two days, she only ever responded with two words: Busy now.
That rejection left him with a feeling of abandonment—unwanted, insignificant.
So when Ning Qingyan finally called, he lashed out, pressing her aggressively. But in the end, he couldn’t be too cruel and relented slightly, saying:
“What, scared just because I was joking? Want some little sisters? Come to my place, you can have as many as you want.”
Gu Si lazily finished his sentence and sent her an address.
To see her, he was even willing to throw in “sisters.” Clearly, he wasn’t going to let her go so easily this time.
Ning Qingyan hesitated. She feared he had set a trap for her. Whether to go or not felt like a lose-lose situation.
The silence on the other end of the call dragged on too long, and Gu Si finally snapped, gritting his teeth:
“Ning Qingyan, do you really not want to see me that much? The show isn’t even over, and you’re already like this. Once it ends, are you planning to disappear completely, cut me off, and never see me again?”
His words struck right at the heart of Ning Qingyan’s true intentions. She shuddered and hurriedly reassured him:
“Bro, what nonsense are you talking about? Am I that kind of person? I’ve just been busy moving. I’m relocating to another city tomorrow, so I’ve been packing, finding an agent to sell my place.”
Hearing her finally speak, Gu Si’s frustration eased slightly. But his tone remained stubborn:
“So after three days of handling everything, you should be able to meet me, right?”
Ning Qingyan coaxed skillfully, “Of course! I was already planning to see you tomorrow. I missed you so much these past few days.”
The last sentence made Gu Si’s lips twitch into a smile, though he tried to act indifferent:
“Hmph, even a dog wouldn’t believe that! Hurry up and get over here… Ahem, do you need me to pick you up?”
“No need, no need, I’ll be there soon.”
Ning Qingyan changed into a dress shirt and long pants, her usual disguise as a boy. She trimmed her light brown hair that had grown a little too long over the past week, deepened the shadows on her face for sharper contours, and put on a cap, sunglasses, and a mask before heading out.
She hailed a taxi straight to the address Gu Si had sent—Kyoto’s largest bar: Manjusha.
The usually bustling bar was eerily quiet tonight. A quick inquiry revealed that Gu Si had booked the entire place.
Of course, Manjusha was a Gu family business. Not just anyone could pull off reserving the whole venue.
The moment she stepped out of the taxi, Gu Si, who had been waiting downstairs for ages, spotted her immediately. After just a few days apart, he casually slung an arm around her neck and led her inside, teasing,
“Our dear President Ning, busy as always. Haven’t seen you in a while, but you don’t look thinner—seems like you’ve been busy eating instead?”
Having indulged in fine dining for days, Ning Qingyan: …
Subconsciously, she pinched her stomach and suddenly felt a pang of guilt. With a mournful tone, she muttered,
“If I get fat, I won’t look good on camera. I can’t let my fans and my little sisters down… Looks like I need to go on a diet.”
Hearing this, Gu Si’s hand, which was still around her neck, moved to pinch her earlobe. He sounded displeased:
“Your mind is full of little sisters, huh?”
Ning Qingyan, sensitive to the touch, shuddered at the warmth of his fingers and quickly pulled away, murmuring,
“Bro, don’t mess around, it tickles.”
The soft warmth still lingered on his fingertips. Gu Si’s ears turned slightly red as he coughed to cover his reaction.
“A grown man this sensitive? Are you sure you weren’t born into the wrong body?”
Ning Qingyan ignored him, instead scanning Kyoto’s most luxurious bar. With its extravagant, high-profile decor, it was no wonder that wealthy people liked to conduct business deals here.
If she were rich, she’d like it too.
“Where are the little sisters? Didn’t you say they’d be here?” she asked curiously.
Gu Si felt a pang of jealousy and glared at her.
“You can’t go three sentences without mentioning little sisters. Why don’t you just go be with them?”
Ning Qingyan nodded seriously, “You have a point. The final episode of the dating show is coming up—I need to prepare.”
Gu Si, speechless: …
“Then do you still want me to call other little sisters for you? Scumbag.”
Ning Qingyan blinked innocently, looking straight at him.
“A man shouldn’t settle for just one blade of grass when he can have a whole forest. You’re the one who taught me that, Master.”
Gu Si, speechless yet again: …
Soon, they reached an elegantly styled private room upstairs, completely different from the ostentatious decor downstairs. This space exuded sophistication and exclusivity.
The room was absurdly spacious, fully equipped for karaoke, movie watching, billiards—you name it.
The two played through almost all the entertainment options before finally sitting down for a meal.
Halfway through dinner, Ning Qingyan suddenly remembered something.
“Bro, so where are the little sisters?”
Gu Si, enjoying their alone time: ?
Though she wasn’t truly interested in them, bringing up “little sisters” served two purposes: reinforcing the boundary between them and keeping Gu Si’s behavior in check. Win-win.
Under her expectant gaze, Gu Si reluctantly clapped his hands.
The door opened, and a group of beautiful women entered, dazzling Ning Qingyan to the point that she subconsciously swallowed.
Of course, Manjusha, being Kyoto’s top legitimate bar, only provided entertainment—no escort services. That’s why the authorities never raided the place.
Watching her awestruck reaction, Gu Si felt incredibly frustrated. He picked up his drink, downing glass after glass as if it were water.
To maintain her “manly” image, Ning Qingyan also drank. In her past life, she had trained herself to handle alcohol well, so she wasn’t worried.
But this body… was another story.
She had barely drunk anything in this life, and her system-enhanced physique, while healthier, was also more sensitive.
A single glass had her head spinning.
Her vision blurred, and suddenly, Gu Si seemed to have two right hands waving in front of her.
“Xiao Yan, are you drunk? I’ve had almost two bottles, and I’m still fine. You only had two drinks?”
She reached out and grabbed one of his arms, nuzzling against it as she mumbled,
“Bro~ Why do you have two right hands?”
Then, resting her flushed face against his cool hand, she rubbed against it like a cat.
Gu Si, still sulking, felt his heart melt instantly.
He gestured for the women to leave, then scooped Ning Qingyan into his arms, princess-style.
Her soft body curled against his chest, her face buried in his collarbone. His loosely buttoned shirt was now nearly undone from all her squirming.
Her warm skin pressed against his bare chest.
The sudden contrast in temperature sent shivers down his spine. His heartbeat thundered.
“S-Stop rubbing…”
His voice was hoarse.
But the next second—
She didn’t just rub.
She bit.
