On the other side, Li Yuechan hummed a tune as she leisurely rode her bicycle to her yard, only to be surrounded by a group of people.

“Yuechan, something happened at your house! You should go check it out!”

Li Yuechan furrowed her brows and asked, “What happened?”

“We don’t know. A group of people just came and started rummaging through your house. Your mom wasn’t around. They left after they finished.”

“What?” Hearing this, Li Yuechan was alarmed. She quickly pushed her bicycle and hurried into her yard. As soon as she looked inside, she saw that her house was in utter disarray.

Guo Xingmei walked over, speaking in a sarcastic tone, “Yuechan, from their appearance, they looked like the revolutionary committee people. Your family isn’t in trouble again, is it?”

Li Yuechan glared at Guo Xingmei and replied harshly, “Aunt, you can mess around with food, but don’t mess around with words!”

Guo Xingmei sneered, then said, “I’m not making things up. They were from the committee, looking like fierce. They even kicked your door open.”

Yang Aifang interjected, “Xingmei, what are you talking about?”

“Yeah, don’t say things without knowing the facts!”

Wang Yuehong said to Li Yuechan, “Yuechan, think of something quickly. Your mom might have been taken by them.”

Li Yuechan looked at the messy house and furrowed her brows.

“Aunt, I’ll go check the situation first.”

“Alright, go ahead. If you need any help, just let us know. We’ll help clean up.”

“Thank you, Aunt!”

Li Yuechan got on her bike and hurriedly rode toward the Luoan Police Station.

Gu Zhixing, hearing from the guard that a female comrade was looking for him, rushed downstairs in a hurry.

When he saw it was Li Yuechan, his eyes brightened, and he smiled widely, eagerly reaching out to pull her in.

After a moment’s hesitation, afraid of the negative impression, he retracted his hand and said with a beaming smile, “Yuechan, you’re here!”

Li Yuechan’s face was serious as she said, “Gu Zhixing, something happened at my house!”

Gu Zhixing’s expression changed instantly. “Let’s go to the office.”

Li Yuechan followed him into the office. He poured her a cup of water and said, “Don’t worry, take your time and tell me.”

Gu Zhixing’s frown deepened as he picked up the phone on the desk and dialed several numbers.

After a moment, he turned to Li Yuechan and said, “Your grandparents and your mom have been taken to the committee.”

Li Yuechan stood up with a start, rolling up her sleeves, ready to leave.

Gu Zhixing was taken aback, rushing to stop her. “Yuechan, where are you going?”

Li Yuechan gritted her teeth and said, “I’m going to overthrow the revolutionary committee!”

Gu Zhixing, never having seen Li Yuechan so determined, quickly said, “Wait, listen to me first. Let me handle this, okay?”

Li Yuechan furrowed her brows and looked at him. Gu Zhixing gently pushed her to sit on the couch.

“Yuechan, leave it to me. I’ll take care of it. You can trust me.”

Li Yuechan looked at the sincerity in his eyes and nodded reluctantly.

“They found a Document at your grandparents’ house.”

Li Yuechan thought for a moment, considering the historical context of the time, and then her mouth opened wide. “They must have been framed.”

Gu Zhixing nodded. “This kind of thing has happened before. The one leading the charge to arrest them is Wang Xinzhou, the vice-director of the revolutionary committee, who also happens to be Han Chunguang’s uncle.”

Li Yuechan clenched her fist. “Him! What a small world!”

“Wait for my news. I’ll send people to handle it. Don’t worry, I’ll get them out.”

Li Yuechan stared at his determined expression and nodded with a stern face.

“Yuechan, why don’t you go rest in my dorm for a while? Let me handle things here, you should trust your man.”

Li Yuechan stood up. “I won’t be in any trouble. Don’t worry about me, I’ll go take a walk.”

Gu Zhixing suddenly remembered something and added, “By the way, I heard about Han Chunguang when I came back. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely get him out.”

Li Yuechan shook her head. “It’s fine, his situation isn’t urgent. But you should still look into it, because they are definitely framing him. Their family has a lot of power, and even your police department has people helping them.”

Gu Zhixing’s expression became serious. “Don’t worry, I’ll look into it thoroughly.”

When he went to Beijing to track Feng Chuan, he had discovered that Feng Chuan had been in contact with someone from the Beijing Public Security Bureau. Furthermore, this person had visited Secretary Jiang shortly after.

After leaving the police station, Li Yuechan kept thinking about that Document. A smile unconsciously spread across her face as she made her way to the recycling station.

When Grandpa Wang saw Li Yuechan, he smiled widely. “Girl, long time no see!”

Li Yuechan grinned playfully. “Grandpa Wang, I’m here to trouble you again!”

“Hehe, tell me, girl, what’s the matter?”

“I’m looking for a few books.”

“That’s no trouble at all. Go ahead and pick some out.”

“Thanks, Grandpa Wang!”

Li Yuechan wandered around inside for a bit, and suddenly her eyes lit up. She picked up a book with delight. “This is it!”

To avoid looking too obvious, she picked out a few more books.

After a while, she walked around the recycling station but didn’t find anything else that caught her attention. It seemed there weren’t any valuable items left.

Grandpa Wang looked at the books she had picked and asked, “Found what you needed, girl?”

“Yes, Grandpa, just these few. How much is it?”

Grandpa Wang glanced at the three books in her hand, smiling. “That’ll be two dimes.”

“Alright, Grandpa Wang.”

Li Yuechan paid and then pulled out a bag of melon seeds from her pocket, handing them to Grandpa Wang.

He quickly waved his hand. “No, no, girl, you don’t need to.”

Li Yuechan placed the melon seeds on the table, smiling. “Grandpa, these are from my home, not worth much. If you have time, just munch on them. I’ll be going now.”

Grandpa Wang happily said, “Alright, girl, come back and chat with me when you have time!”

“Sure, I will!”

Li Yuechan left the recycling station and immediately headed toward the revolutionary committee.
