Chapter 41 : Cook for my wife from now on.

This time, Xiao Yuyan did not send Ye Suiwan directly back to the educated youth station. After all, hadn’t they already obtained their marriage certificate?  

Of course, he had to take her home.  

When they arrived home, his two brothers were already busy, and Lin Lan was standing at the door, clearly waiting for them.  

“Mom, Wanwan and I are back. We got our marriage certificate and took our wedding photos.”  

Xiao Yuyan parked the car and smiled faintly.  

Although his mother had probably already heard about it from Xiao Chufan.

She wasn’t responsible for the shopping, Xiao Yuyan could take care of that. Plus, after getting married, they would receive some ration tickets, which would come in handy.  

But borrowing tables, chairs, benches, bowls, and chopsticks for the banquet, as well as arranging food exchanges, all fell on her, along with her children.  

That’s why it was right to bring the two boys back today.  

If they came back tomorrow, she would definitely need more help.  

Right now, the family was already busy enough with the initial preparations.  

“Aunt, let me help too!”  

Ye Suiwan knew that planning a wedding involved a lot of work.

Ye Suiwan noticed that the cup she was using was new, probably specially prepared for her. The others were slightly worn. This family was really good to her.  

Xiao Yuyan drank three cups in a row, while Ye Suiwan had only finished one.  

“Let’s go see the room you decorated.”  

She was looking forward to it.  

Seeing that no one was in the front yard, Xiao Yuyan took Ye Suiwan’s hand and led her straight to their room.

It looked significantly different from the last time she had been there.  

A large red “double happiness” character was pasted on the wall, and red bedding was neatly stacked on the kang bed. Ceramic basins, a kettle, toothbrushes, and toothpaste were arranged neatly on the shelves.  

“What are these empty spaces for?”  

Ye Suiwan asked curiously.  

“Didn’t you say you had some things to bring from the dormitory? I reserved space for them in advance.”  

Xiao Yuyan explained.  

Ye Suiwan was stunned, she hadn’t expected him to be so thoughtful. She mentally placed the items she planned to bring into the empty spaces, and they fit perfectly.  

Turning around, she hugged Xiao Yuyan’s waist.  

“Ayan, you’re so good to me.”  

At that moment, she didn’t know how to express her feelings, so she could only offer a compliment and a hug.  

“Wanwan, I’m all dirty!”  

He hadn’t showered since coming back, and he must have smelled sweaty.  

“You’re not dirty.”  

As she spoke, she rubbed her head against his chest.

Xiao Yuyan suddenly picked her up, placed her on the kang bed, and leaned over her.

“You think I believe that?”  

Ye Suiwan sat up and straightened her clothes.  

“You shameless man!”

She listened for sounds from the yard.

“Should we have dinner at home?”

“Then I’ll cook. Aunt and my brothers and sisters are all busy they don’t have time to cook.”  

“I’ll help you, and then help them.”  

Ye Suiwan felt that cooking was the least she could do. She couldn’t help with anything else.  

“You cook? Mom won’t agree. Just let Nuannuan do it. I can cook, but it won’t taste good.”  

Hearing that, Xiao Yuyan decided he should learn how to cook, so he could make meals for his wife in the future.

Ye Suiwan: “…” This guy really loves hugging and kissing.  

“Alright, I’ll go make dinner. You go do whatever you need to do.”  

She checked the time and got ready.  

“Okay!”  

Xiao Yuyan opened the door, and just as they stepped out hand in hand, Lin Lan rushed in from outside.  

“It’s late, have dinner at home. I’ll start preparing now.”  

Her eyes landed on their hands, and her smile deepened. Seeing how close they were, it wouldn’t be long before grandchildren arrived.  

“Mom, Wanwan said she’ll cook. I’ll go help you guys.”  

“That won’t do, I’ll cook.”  

Lin Lan was surprised, but also pleased with Ye Suiwan. Still, how could she let her daughter-in-law cook?  

“Mom, we’re family. Cooking is part of my responsibility. Try my cooking.”  

Ye Suiwan smiled.  

Meeting those beautiful, serious eyes, Lin Lan could only return the smile.  

“Alright, the Xiao family is truly blessed to have a daughter-in-law like you.”  

“Then Yuyan, go chop some firewood for the banquet. I’ll go back to my work.”  

Lin Lan gave some instructions and left happily.  

She really liked this daughter-in-law. If Old Xiao were still alive, he’d surely be at peace knowing this.
