Chapter 46 : It’s always good to have many skills.

After waking up in the afternoon and taking care of the things she had planned before going to bed, Ye Suiwan took a basket and went to the vegetable garden.  

She prepared three kinds of fillings: celery and pork, beans and pork, and eggplant and green pepper. After picking the ingredients, she returned to the dormitory.  

After bolting the door, she entered the space kitchen.  

Luckily, she was busy, and the pork that Xiao Yuyan had brought hadn’t been salted. She found it first, cut it into two portions, stored one away, and prepared to chop the other into minced meat.  

But before that, she had to let the dough rise first.  

She added yeast to the flour with a light wheat fragrance, kneaded it into a dough, and set it aside to rise.  

There was some yeast in the kitchen, but not much just twenty small packets.  

Then, using her mind, she fetched water to wash the vegetables. After washing them, she set them aside and started chopping the meat.  

By the time the dough had risen, Ye Suiwan had just finished preparing the three fillings.  

The aroma was incredible, and she was really looking forward to the steamed buns!  

Next, she boiled some water and started rolling out the dough to make the buns.  

However, she didn’t know how to make round buns, she could only shape them into half-moon forms. But the taste would be the same anyway.  

Comforting herself with this thought, she quickened her pace.  

After an hour and a half, she had steamed four batches of buns.  

Counting them, she found there were fewer than eighty buns.  

That didn’t include the three small buns she had steamed separately, each with a different filling, just for herself.  

Since she wanted to taste all three flavors, she had made three small ones instead of three big ones.  

These would last for a while. Once she had more ingredients, she would try making different foods.

“What? You don’t even have a mouth?”  

Ye Suiwan was eating a bun, her eyes narrowing in happiness.  

The flour from this space was really different!  

Thinking of this, she got up and went into the kitchen again. She needed to cook a small pot of rice porridge for convenience.  

[I do have a mouth! Master, please throw me three buns, one of each flavor! Hurry, Master, please, woo woo woo~]  

Ye Suiwan: “…”  

“If you dare to waste them, I’ll deal with you.”  

She had no choice. If she didn’t give in, it would keep crying and being annoying.  

In the end, she threw three buns over.  

The moment they left her hands, they disappeared instantly.  

Forget it. She should have expected this. What’s the big deal?  

She was the one making a fuss.

After eating, Ye Suiwan drank a cup of spiritual spring water. Then, she sat in front of the stove with a book and cooked the porridge.  

Even though she was full, she still needed to cook it.

Once the porridge was ready, Ye Suiwan scooped a spoonful. It was fragrant and tasty light yet rich, smooth but not greasy.  

“Do you want some porridge? I’ll give you a portion.”

She casually threw a spoonful into the air.  

The rest was poured into a bowl.  

After that, she took a quick bath and got ready to go out.  

Xiao Yuyan would be coming in the evening.  

She had been in a good mood ever since she started thinking about waiting for him.

When she returned to the dormitory, it was already dark outside. She lit a kerosene lamp.  

She picked out the clothes she would wear the next day and thought about how to do her hair.  

That’s when she heard a knock on the window.  

Actually, since they were already married, Ye Suiwan didn’t think there was any issue with walking through the front door.  

“Wife, I’ll come pick you up tomorrow morning.”  

As soon as she opened the window, Xiao Yuyan’s handsome face came into view.  

“Mm, I’ll wait for you. Are all the preparations done at home?”

His family must have been busy these past two days.  

“Yeah, everything is ready. Don’t worry.”  

“Did you miss me, huh?”  

Xiao Yuyan held Ye Suiwan’s hand and whispered.  

“Yeah, I did.”  

She had only started thinking about him before he arrived, how would she have had time before that?  

But she wouldn’t say that.  

“I missed you too.”  

After speaking, he leaned in and kissed her forehead.  

“We’re going to town tomorrow. I’ve asked someone to buy us tickets. Should we bring some gifts when we go back to Beijing?”  

Thinking of this, Xiao Yuyan felt a bit nervous.  

Ye Suiwan had initially planned to say no, but since it was their first visit to his father-in-law, they should bring something as a token of respect.  

“When we get to Beijing, we can just buy some cigarettes, alcohol, and tea.”

“Is your eldest sister back?”

“I see.”  

Ye Suiwan responded calmly.  

“Alright, wife. Hehe took three days off, so she’ll be back the day after tomorrow. Let’s go ahead as planned, okay?”  

Xiao Yuyan rubbed her head gently.  

“Mm. You should go back and get some rest, or else tomorrow night…”  

Before she could finish, she covered her mouth, realizing what she had just implied.  

Xiao Yuyan had been listening attentively, but when her voice suddenly stopped, he chuckled.  

“Don’t worry, my dear. Even if I don’t sleep for three days and three nights, I’ll definitely still be able to…” satisfy you.  

Before he could finish, a hand covered his mouth.  

Ye Suiwan simply stood on tiptoe to block him.  

What nonsense was he talking about?! How could he say such things?  

Xiao Yuyan held her hand and kissed it.  

“I’ll be good and go to sleep when I get home. I’m leaving now.”  

Even though he was reluctant, he had to go.  

Tomorrow night, he could finally hold his soft little wife in his arms while sleeping.  

“Okay, I’ll go to bed soon too. Good night.”  

Ye Suiwan said reluctantly.  

The next second, before Xiao Yuyan could reply, she closed the window.  

Xiao Yuyan: “…”  

“…Good night, wife. I’m leaving.”  

Hearing his footsteps fade away, Ye Suiwan changed into her pajamas and lay down in bed.  

Oh no, she couldn’t sleep! Was she too excited?  

In the end, she got up, drank a glass of spiritual spring water, and finally managed to sleep.
