But the Cruel Devil calls me Baby
But the Cruel Devil calls me Baby Chapter 3.2

They were clearly not the same species as her handsome little demon. In the end, Yao Yao simply grabbed Chong Yan’s arm and ran away.

Previously, lying in bed, she needed her parents’ support even to walk. Now, although she was panting heavily and lacked physical strength, she could at least move freely.

Running until they reached a deserted place, Yao Yao finally breathed a sigh of relief. Besides the little demon, there was no sign of the big demon here. It should be safe.

Chong Yan slowly came to a stop.

Blood seeped from the wounds on his back, but it wasn’t obvious because his outer garment was black. The shattered bones pierced the flesh, causing excruciating pain to his soul, which was battered by countless attacks.

However, he simply lowered his head and slowly concealed his damaged collar, his eyelashes hiding the confusion in his disparate pupils.

Why did she save him?

Chong Yan’s eyes had different colors—one devoid of any emotions, as if dead, while the other was filled with confusion and bewilderment.

Every disciple who entered the abyss harbored fear and hatred on their faces.

They wished to kill him while begging for mercy.

Why wasn’t she afraid of him?

Just as Yao Yao finished surveying the surroundings, she turned and noticed the slight confusion on Chong Yan’s calm face. She earnestly advised him. “This place is still very dangerous. You shouldn’t wander around like this in the future, okay?”

Chong Yan didn’t respond.

To make him aware of the danger, Yao Yao vividly described, “Have you seen the biggest demon here? I heard he has been imprisoned here for thirty thousand years. He’s very fierce. It is said that his body is covered in white scales, and he’s tall and enormous. One of his claws is this big.”

The silver-haired, towering demon silently watched her.

Ah.

He had an answer. It turns out she mistook him for someone else.

She didn’t know who he was, which is why she wasn’t afraid or trying to escape.

“But,” Chong Yan raised his indifferent gaze, “I am him.”

“Wait.” Yao Yao  interrupted him.

As if realizing something, she suddenly tilted her head, her round deer-like eyes blinking earnestly as she stared at him intently.

Chong Yan remained expressionless, allowing her to scrutinize him.

Finally, she seemed to have figured something out. It didn’t matter.

However, for some reason, under her overly serious gaze, Chong Yan felt as if his scars were being closely examined. His fingers, hanging by his side, involuntarily clenched.

Yao Yao touched her chin. “My blood scares other demons, so why aren’t you afraid?”

Could it be that Chong Yan wasn’t a demon? Then what was he?

Chong Yan stood there indifferently, his back unconsciously straightening, and his lips pursed.

He was the abnormal, ugly, monstrous being, after all.

“Doesn’t that mean I can heal your injuries too?” the girl’s voice sounded excited.

Chong Yan couldn’t understand.

Yao Yao’s eyes lit up. The storyline set her bloodline as able to expel evil and heal humans and deities. Since Chong Yan couldn’t be expelled, it logically followed that he could be healed.

Yao Yao carefully held the flowing golden Blood Spirit Pearl and, before Chong Yan could react, gently dropped it onto the “fatal injury” on his palm. A faint golden light flashed, and then the pearl instantly dissolved.

However, Chong Yan suddenly stepped back, feeling unfamiliar.

Throughout his long life, he was only familiar with pain and had no knowledge of what healing felt like.

For naturally-born beasts like him, this unfamiliar feeling didn’t make them grateful; it only made their hair stand on end, their spines shivering in an instant.

But the Blood Spirit Pearl had already transformed into golden light, flowing through his meridians and permeating his entire body.

Chong Yan felt restless and agitated, the spikes all over his body once again growing crazily. For a moment, he wanted to kill the girl in front of him.

However, Yao Yao couldn’t sense his murderous intent at all.

After all, in her eyes, this was her little demon friend she had raised for a year. Who was he really, she didn’t know.

She observed and noticed that the wound on his hand was truly healing rapidly, and a sense of achievement surged within her once again.

Heavens, she really had immense power.

But the innocent baby didn’t know that her blood was not only healing the wound on his hand.

The pearl dissolved countless shattered ice spikes along his meridians, healing the blood holes covering his body, and the large areas of festering wounds on his back felt the itch of recovery.

After being suppressed and weakened to the extreme, the ancient demon began a slow recovery.

Chong Yan stared blankly at his palm.

A gift.

After losing that person, he received another gift.

Restlessly, Chong Yan clenched his fist and bit his lip.

The lonely ancient demon raised his eyes, and the girl was running around the surroundings, exclaiming happily as she looked at the desolate abyss he called home.

Previously, it was difficult for Yao Yao to feel this on the small screen of her phone. It turns out that this place is so vast and desolate.

The more she looked, the more familiar the surroundings felt. Until Yao Yao saw a very familiar lake, its surface clear, reflecting ice and snow.

Yao Yao’s ears immediately perked up. I can shoveled enough to create iceberg water, so clean!

Yao Yao suddenly looked forward to seeing Chong Yan’s reaction with her own eyes. In the game, through the 2D screen of her phone, Chong Yan had always been silent, hardly showing any expressions. She couldn’t tell his emotions.

Chong Yan also saw the lake and instinctively wanted to wash away the dirt on his body.

Because he was already ominous enough, he was always afraid that the person accompanying him in the void would see his impure appearance.

But as soon as he reached out, he remembered that the rose had already abandoned him.

Pale veins strained on Chong Yan’s back of the hand, and he withdrew it, feeling embarrassed and sad.

He pursed his lips and threw a huge rock into the lake, “Splash.”

Yao Yao. “…”.

He used to change the water every day. He had changed. Turns out he didn’t like it at all.

Yao Yao shrank into a small figure, squatting by the lake, digging and drawing circles in the ground.

However, just when she was feeling down, a small bottle was pushed over to her on the ground.

Looking up again, Chong Yan returned to the tree where he usually sat.

This was his last effort.

Chong Yan wondered if he learned to say thank you, would the rose see it?

Her gift, he carefully guarded day and night.

Yao Yao looked left and right, and only after a long time did she understand that it was meant for her.

But why did this small bottle look so familiar?

Yao Yao wanted to take it to a place with better lighting to carefully examine what was inside the bottle.

But whenever she moved away, Chong Yan’s originally indifferent gaze would follow, with a disapproving warning in his eyes.

After trying this a few times, Yao Yao understood.

He gave it to her but didn’t allow her to take it out of his sight.

So Yao Yao secretly went to the sea of consciousness and looked inside the treasure chest, finally confirming that it was a bottle of medicine she had given him a year ago.

Chong Yan had very few things in his life, so he picked and chose, giving her one but couldn’t bear to part with it.

Yao Yao was stunned for a moment, unable to help but hold her face with starry eyes.

He really treasures it.
