Chapter 25: The Rabbit’s Something is Really Small
The rabbit in her arms lifted its round head, its ruby-like eyes staring at her. Su Jiu’s heart was instantly struck, and her grip on it tightened unconsciously.
“Alright, alright,” she smiled, gently touching its soft, cool nose with her fingertip, pleasantly surprised to find that it didn’t resist this time. Instead, it seemed quite comfortable, raising its chin slightly.
Su Jiu picked it up and walked behind the screen.
“I’ll take you there, but you have to behave and not go into the water, okay?”
In the rooms of several direct disciples on Buda Mountain, there were natural hot springs separated by screens. A few steps inside was a small pool with water kept at a constant temperature year-round, floating with flower petals and infused with a faint spiritual energy. It not only cleansed the body but also helped heal internal injuries and unblock meridians.
Previously, Su Jiu was busy with her cultivation and would only soak in the hot spring about once a week. But recently, since she couldn’t use her spiritual power, she couldn’t clean herself with a cleansing spell like before.
After soaking a few times, she had gotten used to bathing in the hot spring every day.
Qi Chaoye sat beside the hot spring on a grass mat specially made for him, with a few carrots and some spiritual herbs from Mengxi Valley in front of him.
He squinted, his gaze fixed on Su Jiu, lost in thought.
This time he returned, he noticed that this little junior sister seemed particularly different from before.
In Qi Chaoye’s memory, this little junior sister always had a quiet demeanor, spending years focused solely on cultivation, wearing the plainest disciple robe, and not resembling other girls who knew how to dress up and take care of themselves.
Qi Chaoye always felt that she was very boring, so boring that if he hadn’t run into her in Mengxi Valley today, he wouldn’t have remembered her at all.
A useless person from the human realm had no value to him, and naturally, she held no utility.
If he was in a good mood, he could let her off the hook.
If he was in a bad mood, he could easily crush her like stepping on an ant.
However, this time he returned, Qi Chaoye noticed a subtle difference in her.
Although she still had that unremarkable face, it was as if she had suddenly been infused with a soul, coming to life in an instant. Those ordinary almond-shaped eyes shone brightly, as if light was flowing within them, sparkling.
Additionally, Qi Chaoye sensed a hint of demonic aura coming from her.
Sitting on the grass mat, he squinted slightly, looking at the girl who had her back to him.
Even though it was his first time seeing a woman’s body, Qi Chaoye remained calm.
In his eyes, there was no difference between a mother and a woman. When he was in the demon realm, there were plenty of female fox spirits, wolf demons, and tiger demons who threw themselves at him.
Although they had all transformed into human form and learned to dress like women from the human realm or the cultivation world, making themselves fragrant and appealing, to Qi Chaoye, they all smelled the same.
Vulgar.
Su Jiu was the same in his eyes.
In fact, compared to them, she had one more thing.
A fragile human body.
Boring.
Qi Chaoye shook his hips, and halfway through, he remembered that his once beautiful, fluffy tail had now become a short, thin rabbit tail, making him feel a bit restless.
He wanted to leave.
He regretted not having killed Su Jiu with a single swipe.
“What’s wrong? Can’t sit still?”
Su Jiu turned around.
The water in the hot spring was high, reaching around her neck, completely obscuring the view below.
Su Jiu waved her hand, “Come here, let me wash you.”
Qi Chaoye did not move.
Even though Su Jiu seemed vulgar in his eyes, he still understood the basic principle of male and female propriety.
He turned his body, swinging his short limbs, trying to walk out.
[Hey, you little rabbit, are you really leaving?] Su Jiu thought: [If I don’t wash you today, how can I hold you to sleep tonight!]
Qi Chaoye’s ears twitched.
He heard that voice again.
It was clearly Su Jiu’s voice, but the tone was completely different.
He could accurately guess that this was definitely not something Su Jiu would say.
Seeing the rabbit stop moving, Su Jiu was immediately delighted. She went behind it and picked it up in one motion.
“Be good.”
[Come here, I want to see if you, this little lecherous rabbit, are male or female.]
As Qi Chaoye was picked up, he accurately perceived that what she said and what he heard in his ear were two entirely different sentences.
He pondered, momentarily forgetting that he was still being held by Su Jiu.
Until his paw suddenly touched something soft, wet, and warm.
It was exceptionally bouncy and soft.
He couldn’t help but instinctively step on it.
[What the hell! This lecherous rabbit is stepping on my chest—]
Su Jiu’s surprised thoughts suddenly jolted Qi Chaoye awake.
He froze for a moment, his paw still resting on that something, and his eyes slowly shifted downward…
“I am a human, you are a rabbit, we have reproductive isolation, okay? Be good and go to sleep. When you grow up a bit, I’ll find you a female rabbit so you can have a litter of bunny babies.”
Su Jiu was fluffing Qi Chaoye’s ruffled fur.
There was no need to check if it was a male or female rabbit; that little bulge between its hind legs was already the answer.
[But that rabbit’s thing is really small.]
Su Jiu couldn’t help but reminisce.
Qi Chaoye, wrapped in her towel, was so angry that his face turned dark, unable to hold back a shout.
Hearing his cries, Su Jiu exclaimed.
“This rabbit, why does it sound a bit like a fox?”
[It can’t be a fox. Whenever I think of foxes, I remember that bastard Qi Chaoye, smiling sweetly on the surface but so black-hearted underneath. Just thinking about it makes me mad!]
Qi Chaoye paused.
It wasn’t that he was afraid of being recognized by Su Jiu as a fox, but he was surprised at how she knew he was a fox.
Apologies for the incomplete response. Here’s the continuation of the translation:
Having been in Buda Mountain for nearly twenty years, Qi Chaoye was confident that no one could possibly know his true identity.
However, Su Jiu somehow knew that his true form was a fox!
How did she know?
Qi Chaoye turned his bright red eyes toward Su Jiu, only to see the girl holding him and placing him into the bed. She then blew out the candlelight by the bed, put on her white nightclothes, and climbed into bed.
A rustling sound filled the air.
A soft, warm arm wrapped around Qi Chaoye.
A faint fragrance blended with a hint of sweetness filled Qi Chaoye’s nostrils.
It was no longer the cheap, cloying scent of cosmetics he had previously encountered, a smell that was nauseatingly vulgar.
Instead, it was very light and refreshing.
Just like the hand that rested on him.
Su Jiu’s voice rang above him, gentle and soothing.
Qi Chaoye knew it was her speaking.
“Be good, sleep in my arms for a while, and tomorrow I’ll send you home.”
She yawned softly, propping her chin on Qi Chaoye’s forehead.
He suppressed the impulse to move, wanting to hear if Su Jiu would say anything more.
However, soon, the girl beside him gradually breathed steadily and lightly.
She fell asleep.
The night was like water.
The wind rose outside the window, and flowers bloomed in the courtyard.
Qi Chaoye changed back to his original form.
A beautiful, large red fox sat beside Su Jiu, his fluffy, pretty tail swaying gently, wrapping around the girl’s slender, pale neck, slowly tightening.
In those sky-blue eyes, there flickered a beautiful yet cold light that dazzled under the night.
The pink paw pads lay carelessly on the girl’s chest, beneath which was a soft expanse.
With a gentle pull, that beautiful, fluffy, bright red tail could wrap around her neck, using its most charming appearance to strangle her.
It would crush her bones and flesh.
Qi Chaoye slowly tightened his grip.
The girl, sleeping, suddenly moved her hand from the side, reaching toward her neck, seemingly feeling uncomfortable.
She touched the fluffy tail, and the excellent texture made her involuntarily smile in her dreams, the frown from her discomfort relaxing.
“Beautiful…”
She murmured in her sleep and suddenly turned over.
Qi Chaoye reacted quickly, retracting his tail, or else she would have pressed it underneath her.
The girl’s hand groped around her side for a while before her previously relaxed brow furrowed again.
“Rabbit…”
She mumbled a couple of times, snuggling inward, accurately positioning herself by the big red fox’s feet.
The fox’s long fur brushed against her.
The girl hugged the fox’s tail, rubbing her fair cheek against it, revealing a blissful, silly smile.
“Comfortable.”
She sighed longingly and fell back into a deep sleep.
