Chapter 40: A Forced Kiss
Mo Lin was holding his arm, his face pale, as if he was looking at her with disbelief and injury. His lips moved, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he turned his head and whispered to Shen Wangchen beside him, “Master, I’m afraid there’s a misunderstanding. Senior Sister didn’t mean to hurt me…”
Shen Wangchen, dressed in white, looked at Su Jiu with cold eyes. His glassy eyes were unreadable.
Su Jiu felt a little panicked when she was looked at by him. She opened her mouth to explain, but Shen Wangchen waved his hand, stopping both her and Mo Lin.
He asked Su Jiu, “What are you doing in the forbidden area of the back mountain? And why did you hurt your junior brother?”
Su Jiu’s mind was in turmoil. She couldn’t say that she was following Mo Lin, and she had a feeling that she might have fallen into Mo Lin’s trap. She looked at him, pursed her lips, and didn’t say anything.
Mo Lin, dressed in black, stood behind Shen Wangchen, his brows and eyes calm and serene as he looked over. When he met Su Jiu’s gaze, he gave a very faint and fleeting smile.
It looked like mockery.
Shen Wangchen asked Su Jiu this question, but he wasn’t really expecting her to give a clear answer.
The sect was already in chaos, and he had to take Su Jiu back as soon as possible to prevent the headmaster and elders from suspecting her when they found out she had come to the back mountain.
However, Mo Lin was still behind him, and he had set up this trap precisely to lure Mo Lin out. Therefore, in order not to let Mo Lin notice anything unusual, Shen Wangchen directly bound Su Jiu with his spiritual power, his voice cold and stern, “There are suddenly demonic creatures in the sect, and you are here now. It’s hard for me not to suspect you.”
Su Jiu was stunned, “It wasn’t me.”
Shen Wangchen looked at her meaningfully.
“We’ll know soon enough.”
She was locked up in the Undao Mountain prison by Shen Wangchen.
Su Jiu believed that Shen Wangchen would find out the truth, but she didn’t believe that Mo Lin would just let it go. Even if she was stupid now, she could guess that Mo Lin was using her to divert attention, making everyone else suspect her and clearing himself of suspicion.
Su Jiu gritted her teeth.
In the original plot, everyone was indifferent to life and death, and they would fight if they disagreed. Mo Lin would act directly and forcefully, but why, when it came to her, did everyone start playing mind games?
What Su Jiu couldn’t understand most was why Mo Lin suddenly wanted her to be the scapegoat.
Was it because she had been cold to him these past few days?
What a little brat!
The second day after she was locked up, Shen Wangchen brought her to the Main Peak Hall, in front of the headmaster of Qian Yuan Sect.
The headmaster looked at her with disappointment, “Su Jiu, our Qian Yuan Sect has treated you well, why are you working for the demons and bringing the Demon Seed into the sect?”
There was an uproar around them.
“Do you know that Shuang Bai…” Mentioning his most beloved disciple, the headmaster couldn’t help but feel heartbroken. He looked at Su Jiu with a little more disgust, then turned to Shen Wangchen and said, “Wangchen, she is your disciple, what do you say, how should she be punished?”
Shen Wangchen sat to the side, his gaze not on Su Jiu, and he replied calmly, “Brother, just follow the rules of Qian Yuan Sect. A traitor from the demon world appeared among my disciples, it is my fault for not disciplining them properly. I am willing to be punished.”
Su Jiu wanted to say something, but when Shen Wangchen brought her here, he directly cast a silencing spell on her. She couldn’t utter a word, and could only look at Shen Wangchen.
She never thought that she would have narrowly escaped being stabbed to death by Mo Lin, only to be tricked by him and become his shield!
However, she couldn’t speak, and could only watch helplessly as the headmaster and Shen Wangchen discussed her fate.
Shen Wangchen said, “Since she is a demon spy, she must have people from the demon world behind her. I want to take her back to Undao Mountain for strict interrogation. There were many casualties in the sect yesterday, and the disciples are demoralized. Brother, please comfort them.”
The headmaster sighed and nodded.
Shen Wangchen took Su Jiu back to Undao Hall, but he didn’t interrogate her as he had told the headmaster. He just threw her there, casually set up a barrier, and simply imprisoned her.
Su Jiu wasn’t worried about Shen Wangchen doing anything to her now. For some reason, she had a feeling that Shen Wangchen wouldn’t treat her as he had told the headmaster.
She was worried that Mo Lin would take this opportunity to act.
Unfortunately, Shen Wangchen didn’t remove the silencing spell before he left, and she couldn’t tell Shen Wangchen everything even if she wanted to.
Su Jiu was imprisoned for three days.
During those three days, Mu Yunqing came to see her, offering words of comfort.
He said, “Senior Brother naturally believes in Junior Sister. You are definitely not a demon.”
Su Jiu looked up at him, gazing into his dark and earnest eyes, feeling a warmth in her heart.
Mu Yunqing reached out and touched her cheek. Although he knew that Su Jiu would definitely not suffer under Master’s care, and this little girl was also very carefree, Master said that her thoughts these past two days were all about what she wanted to eat and drink, not at all anxious as they had imagined.
Mu Yunqing had come to comfort her because he was worried that she would overthink things, but now, seeing her, he realized he had been worrying too much.
He couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
“What a little girl.”
Su Jiu glared at him, unable to speak due to the silencing spell, but her thoughts kept coming out, making Mu Yunqing a little overwhelmed.
In the back mountain, Mo Lin stood outside Mengxi Valley, his gaze fixed on the forbidden area in the distance, his expression emotionless.
The jade pendant at his waist vibrated slightly.
The voice in his mind urged him, “Take advantage of the fact that no one is paying attention to you now. You should break the seal of the Demon Sealing Array as soon as possible and return to the demon realm. No matter what, you are the only heir of the Demon Lord…”
Mo Lin didn’t say anything, but his eyes became even darker, and his gaze slowly shifted to Undao Mountain on the other side.
Seeing that he didn’t speak, the old voice sighed, knowing that Mo Lin was still hesitating.
If he had known this, he should have directly pulled out Mo Lin’s love root that day…
On the fourth night of Su Jiu’s imprisonment, the outside suddenly became very noisy.
She had been sleeping soundly, but she was awakened by the chaotic sounds. She opened her eyes groggily, just about to get up and see what was happening, when her shoulder was pressed down by a hand.
“Don’t move.”
A cold breath washed over her, Su Jiu was stunned, she widened her eyes in the darkness, trying to see the face of the person in front of her.
[Is it Master? When did he come? And he’s sleeping next to me… No, when will he let me speak? I’m really going to become a mute.]
The candlelight in the bedroom lit up, and the one sitting beside her was Shen Wangchen.
He pressed Su Jiu back onto the bed, got out of bed himself, put on his clothes, and didn’t turn around. He just said to her, “Don’t come out, rest yourself.”
Su Jiu thought he was talking nonsense.
She had no spiritual power and couldn’t speak, what else could she do?
She simply lay back down and closed her eyes to sleep.
The noise outside gradually faded away, and Su Jiu gradually felt a little drowsy. She had just turned over, when a black figure suddenly flashed past her half-closed eyes.
She was startled, her little bit of sleepiness vanished, and she sat up in a panic, looking vigilantly towards the door.
Unfortunately, she was a mute now, and she couldn’t even call for help.
The candlelight in the hall flickered slightly, and Su Jiu was paying attention, so she immediately looked over.
The candle flickered twice, then suddenly went out with a “poof,” and the hall returned to pitch black.
Su Jiu’s heart sank, she was about to get up, but she suddenly smelled a faint scent of blood.
Her arm was suddenly grabbed and she was pressed down on the bed. Su Jiu opened her mouth to call out, but she couldn’t make a sound. Not only that, but the person on top of her bit her lips, making her cry out in pain.
[You’re crazy!]
She just wanted to curse.
