Chapter 246: The Wedding Night Passed Like This

“Speak,” Su Yu interrupted Wang Jinhe, staring at her seriously.

Wang Jinhe felt a bit helpless. If she spoke, Su Yu might think she was trying to sow discord between them.

“There’s really no need to say.”

“Xiao He, I want to know the reason.” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe with a serious and earnest expression, leaving her no room to refute.

Seeing Su Yu like this, Wang Jinhe knew that if she didn’t speak today, Su Yu wouldn’t let it go.

“Your sister looks down on my background. She thinks I’m just a country girl not worthy of you. She told me about Xie Yang, praising her a lot, thinking I should leave you and let Xie Yang marry you as your wife. With the support of the two-dynasty veteran elder, Xie Chen, she believes your future path will be smoother.” Wang Jinhe revealed everything that needed to be said to Su Yu.

Su Yu clenched his fists, enraged and ready to find Su Xuan Xuan, but Wang Jinhe reached out and pulled him back. “Enough, there’s really nothing more to say about this kind of thing.”

“But…”

“Before, you also said that you wouldn’t have many chances to meet in the future. Why bother caring so much? What she said has no harm to me.” At first, she didn’t understand what Su Xuan Xuan’s implied disdain meant.

It wasn’t until Su Xuan Xuan hinted at letting Su Yu go back to the capital to marry Xie Yang that Wang Jinhe realized Su Xuan Xuan and Xie Yang had a good relationship.

So, facing herself, Su Xuan Xuan had this kind of attitude.

Holding Wang Jinhe in his arms, Su Yu frowned. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Su Xuan Xuan was the real wolf in sheep’s clothing. Xiao He helped her improve her health, only to face such an ungrateful person.

Hugging Wang Jinhe, Su Yu felt her sadness. Wang Jinhe smiled and explained, “I don’t have much of a relationship with her. Staying together temporarily is because of you. Honestly, I quite like Ling’Er. Despite her young age, she has a clear and perceptive mind. Plus, she has a completely different personality from Su Xuan Xuan.”

Having spent time with Feng Qinling, Wang Jinhe found that the child was perceptive, straightforward—right was right, and wrong was wrong.

Previously, Su Xuan Xuan apologized to Su Yu because of this child’s intervention.

Sometimes, Su Xuan Xuan really seemed worse than a child.

When Su Xuan Xuan first arrived, Wang Jinhe thought she was good. However, as they spent more time together, she realized it was just so-so. After they left, there was hardly any interaction. Who would have thought that Su Xuan Xuan would want to cause trouble on their wedding day? This put Wang Jinhe in a very bad mood.

Reaching out to embrace Wang Jinhe, placing his hand under her chin on her shoulder, Su Yu sighed softly, “In the end, she has changed.”

“Do you think someone told her something?” Wang Jinhe turned her head to look at Su Yu, frowning at his disappointed expression.

Su Yu’s brows furrowed slightly. Did someone tell her something?

Su Yu’s thoughts went back to his past life. Did he see Su Xuan Xuan at Lake Mo?

Seeing Su Yu silent for a long time, Wang Jinhe didn’t disturb him. After a while, Su Yu spoke, “Perhaps what you said is right. Someone might have told her something.”

“You…”

“In my past life, it seems she came to find me once, before Xiao Bao had an accident. But I don’t remember it well.” The events of the past life were too painful and oppressive; he didn’t want to recall them.

Wang Jinhe turned to look at Su Yu, reaching out to cup his face, her eyes unusually gentle. “If you can’t remember, don’t force yourself. After all, it’s a bad memory.”

“Okay.”

Su Yu looked into Wang Jinhe’s eyes and suddenly reached out, kissing her neck.

Today, on their wedding day, Su Yu did something he had long wanted to do. Only after Wang Jinhe fell asleep in the middle of the night did he get up, put on his clothes, and walked out.

Walking under the moonlight, Su Yu coldly watched Su Xuan Xuan talking to Su Qin outside.

Crossing his arms and leaning against the door frame, Su Yu lazily stood there. After Su Qin left, Su Xuan Xuan turned around and saw Su Yu standing there. She was immediately startled.

“Why are you here?” Wasn’t he supposed to be asleep?

“Nothing, just wanted to see how you conspired with others against me.” Su Yu looked at his hands, still intact—very good!

“Xiao Yu, listen to my explanation…”

“There’s nothing to explain. What’s done is done. All those words were just self-deception. When it’s daylight, go back with the people Big Brother arranged for you. If you bother me, don’t blame me for turning my face and disowning you.” Su Yu said, turning away without saying more to Su Xuan Xuan.

Su Xuan Xuan felt irritated. How did Su Yu find out?

When Su Yu reached the room’s doorway, Yuan Bao appeared there, speaking in a low voice, “Young Master, they indeed want Xie Yang to unexpectedly end up with you. Xie Yang is already in the town.”

“Indeed, she’s my good sister.” Su Yu sarcastically remarked.

“Should Young Master…”

Su Yu waved his hand. “No need. After daybreak, I will ask the Empress Dowager for an imperial edict. Let’s see if these people dare to defy the edict.”

Yuan Bao instantly understood what Su Yu wanted to do but still felt sorry for him. “Young Master, are you okay?”

“I’m fine. These people will be strangers in the future. Yuan Bao, take back everything given to Su Xuan’s family. She doesn’t deserve it.”

“Yes.”

“Rest now.” Su Yu pushed the door and went back in. Sitting on the bed, he looked at Wang Jinhe, who was sleeping, and gradually, his irritations were smoothed out.

Sitting on the bed, he reached out to touch Wang Jinhe’s face. Unable to resist the thoughts brought up by Yuan Bao’s words, Su Yu couldn’t help but think that as long as he had her and Xiao Bao, everything would be fine.

Su Yu lifted the quilt and got into bed, reaching out to embrace Wang Jinhe. Only then did he close his eyes to sleep.

In the morning, when Wang Jinhe woke up, she felt someone sitting up beside her. Before she could see who it was, she was pulled back. “It’s still early. Sleep a little longer.”

The familiar voice made Wang Jinhe gradually realize that she and Su Yu were already married. In the arms of Su Yu, she leaned back and fell asleep again. When she woke up, the Qiuchan  had already prepared the meal. Su Yu was teaching Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi martial arts.

Watching Su Yu’s stern expression, Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but smile. “You’re so strict; aren’t you afraid Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi will be scared of you?”

“That won’t happen.” He only appeared strict when they were studying; he wasn’t like that on regular days. How could they be afraid of him?

“Madam, Master, breakfast is ready.” Qiuchan walked over.

At the dining table, Su Xi’s face didn’t look good, but he tried his best to endure and prevent Wang Jinhe from noticing.

Obviously, something happened before Wang Jinhe woke up.
