Chapter 11 Premature Birth

White steam was coming out of the stove, making Su Huai’s back look a bit hazy. Lu Yuan was holding his head in a daze, and felt that his body was warming up with the heat. He turned around and went to the side room, following the two elder brothers, pacing back and forth anxiously.

As soon as Lu Yuan and the young man entered the room, they were hit by a wave of hot air. The kang was burning vigorously. Daddy Wang was lying on the bed and crying. It seemed that he was in great pain from the contraction. Su Huai and second ger grabbed him on the left and right to prevent him from hurting himself.

A big man was crying in pain on the bed with a big belly. His clothes were disheveled, his hair was messy, and his eyes were glazed. Lu Yuan was stunned by the scene as soon as he came in, and then he heard Su Huai ask the young ger: “Can you deliver a baby?”

 Su Huai saw this and knew that he could not count on him. Seeing that Daddy Wang suddenly stopped struggling, he quickly told the ger, “Bring the sugar cakes on the table and feed him some now!”

Su Huai actually had no experience in delivering babies. When he delivered Li’s baby last time, the amniotic fluid had already broken when he arrived, and the baby was born smoothly. He was almost useless because he gave birth on his own. This time Daddy Wang was different. It had been two days, but there was still no movement. Su Huai was calm on the surface, but he was also very helpless in his heart.

“How much has the birth canal open?” Lu Yuan followed the ger, bit the scalp and lifted the quilt, glanced at Daddy Wang’s thighs, and asked.

Su Huai didn’t say anything. Lu Yuan looked up at him and his heart sank. It seemed that Su Huai had no experience in delivering babies. He made up his mind and had to touch the birth canal himself.

 “It’s only one finger open, give him some induced labor medicine.” Lu Yuan’s voice was a little shaky, and his hands were a little shaky. The physiological structure of the men who gave birth here was really weird. The male characteristics were so obvious, but the birth canal could still be seen… He had the illusion that he was delivering a monster.

“Mm, I’ll go and boil the medicine.” Su Huai responded. He didn’t know when he had completely trusted Lu Yuan. It’s just that as soon as he stood up, Lu Yuan grabbed his sleeve and nodded at the ger: “That… let him go.”

Feeling that Lu Yuan’s face was a little bad, Su Huai frowned. He thought that he was nervous, and nodded. He told the ger to boil the medicine, and asked Lu Yuan: “What should I do next?”

“After drinking the induced labor medicine, the birth canal will open faster. When the water breaks, the baby will come out easily.” Lu Yuan looked at the corner of the quilt and took back his hand that was grabbing other people’s clothes a little embarrassedly.

“Mm.” Nodding, Su Huai’s face showed some confusion.

 He always felt that Lu Yuan understood the steps of childbirth very well, and made decisions decisively and calmly. Like it was not his first time delivering a baby, but he seemed to be resistant to the daddy who was giving birth, and he didn’t dare to step forward. This was very strange…

Sure enough, as Lu Yuan said, not long after taking the medicine, the birth canal opened to two fingers. Daddy Wang’s contractions became more severe, and he kept rubbing and moving on the bed. Su Huai and the two gers held him down to make it easier for Lu Yuan to check the birth canal.

After a while, Daddy suddenly made a “hmm” sound and moaned that he seemed to be giving birth. Lu Yuan also shouted, “The amniotic fluid broke.” He began to clean the blood flowing between Daddy Wang’s legs. The blood was bright red, which made Lu Yuan’s hands look even whiter.

 “The birth canal has opened four fingers. Daddy, listen to me, push hard when I say three! One, two, three… push hard!” Lu Yuan’s voice was a little shaky. God knows if he hadn’t had a good psychological endurance, he would have collapsed long ago when he saw the big man’s birth canal fully opened.

Daddy Wang twisted in pain, and the sharp scream between male and female voices made Lu Yuan’s back cold. Now he could only focus all his attention on the baby’s head gradually exposed in the birth canal. He repeatedly reminded himself that what he saw was a woman giving birth, a woman!

He felt someone holding his shoulder and heard Su Huai whispering his name. Lu Yuan realized that he was shaking so badly just now. Daddy Wang was already out of strength. Hearing this, he hummed twice. Su Huai helped him massage his cramped calf and encouraged him constantly.

He didn’t know how long it took to hold on like this. Lu Yuan felt that his ears were numb from Daddy Wang’s increasingly weak roars. His clothes were soaked. Not only Daddy, but also his own physical strength was almost exhausted. He finally saw the baby’s hair. He washed his hands in hot water. Lu Yuan had long forgotten that he was facing a man. While encouraging Daddy Wang, he opened up the birth canal.

He watched the fetus’s head emerge little by little, Lu Yuan couldn’t let go. Suddenly, Daddy Wang’s voice became weaker and weaker, and the strength he used became less and less. Su Huai said in a muffled voice: “Is it coming out soon? Daddy Wang’s pulse has become weaker. I’m afraid he can’t hold on!”

His heart tightened. The thing Lu Yuan was most worried about really happened.

“Brother Su, you watch over Daddy Wang. I’ll go get something.” After saying that, Lu Yuan got up and ran away. When he came back, he was holding iron pliers-like thing in his hand and soaked it in hot water for a while.

“Xiao Yuan, what are you doing!” Su Huai was stunned. He was really scared by Lu Yuan.

The pliers swung back and forth in the water, making a clanging sound. Lu Yuan didn’t look up, but said solemnly: “This is called forceps. I’m going to use it to clamp the baby’s head and help the fetus come out.” After saying that, he didn’t care how Su Huai reacted. He picked up the forceps and stretched it to the half-exposed head of the fetus.
