Same Bed But Different Dreams
SB 5.1

Although he felt somewhat awkward and it was the session of the Legislative Yuan, a time when this trip was entirely unplanned, he still agreed to her seemingly capricious request.

They would go to Italy for a two-week vacation.

She had succeeded in the first step.

Next, it was time to probe her opponent’s strengths and weaknesses.

After having breakfast with her husband that morning and sending him off, Yin Tianyu first returned to her room for a long bubble bath, then took even longer to do her makeup in front of the mirror.

She understood very well that no matter how much she dressed up, she couldn’t compare to Li Xiangsi in terms of natural beauty. But at the very least, she couldn’t show a hint of sloppiness in front of her rival.

A clever soldier remembers to be fully armed before going into battle, and a smart woman doesn’t forget to put on the strongest armor before entering the fray.

Her light and elegant makeup, paired with a silk knee-length dress that flattered her tall figure, was her armor.

Once she was satisfied with her appearance, she grabbed her designer handbag, drove herself to the office building of “Hongjing Technology.”

On the surface, she was meeting her brother for lunch, but in reality, she was there to see Li Xiangsi.

She deliberately arrived early. Yin Fanya was indeed still in a meeting, and a male secretary was assigned to receive her.

Not Li Xiangsi.

She felt a bit disappointed as she followed the male secretary into the general manager’s office. The room was spacious, decorated in a style that matched Yin Fanya’s personal taste—low-key, minimalist, and absolutely elegant.

She sat down on a black leather sofa, her bright eyes casually sweeping over the postmodern artwork hanging on the wall. The rich colors and lines coexisted in striking contrast, creating a marvelous sense of harmony.

The secretary brought her a cup of coffee. “Miss Yin, it should take about twenty more minutes for President Yin. Please wait here for a moment.”

“No problem.” She looked up, smiling gently. “Thank you.”

The secretary nodded and was about to leave when she called out to him. “Excuse me, is Miss Li not in the office today?”

“Miss Li?”

“My brother’s special assistant.”

“Oh, you mean Assistant Li! She’s in the office next door.” The male secretary pointed to a door embedded in the wall connecting to this office. “Do you want me to call her over?”

“No, that’s fine.” Yin Tianyu shook her head, her smile even sweeter. “Since she’s busy, I won’t disturb her.”

After the male secretary left, Yin Tianyu got up and lightly walked to that door.

Li Xiangsi was right next door.

There was only a wall separating them.

Yin Tianyu took a deep breath, trying to gently turn the doorknob, and found it wasn’t locked.

She was somewhat surprised.

This meant Li Xiangsi could walk through that door into this office at any time—did her brother really trust that woman so much?

Was their relationship truly just a simple one of superior and subordinate?

Yin Tianyu frowned slightly. This unexpected discovery made her feel uncertain and more wary of Li Xiangsi.

If Li Xiangsi really had something going on with her brother, why would she be entangled with Bai Chen? What was her true intention?

Suddenly, there were some faint sounds coming from the other side of the door. Yin Tianyu jolted, quickly stepping back from the door and returning to the sofa.

Li Xiangsi pushed the door open, holding a stack of documents, and placed them directly on Yin Fanya’s desk. It was only when she turned around that she caught sight of Yin Tianyu, her expression clearly startled.

Yin Tianyu gracefully stood up, her lips curling slightly. “Miss Li, long time no see.”

Li Xiangsi’s eyes flickered, and her charming smile quickly blossomed. “Miss Yin, when did you arrive?” She walked over.

“I just got here.”

“President Yin is still in a meeting, so you might have to wait a little longer.”

“Hmm, I know.” Yin Tianyu maintained her smile, subtly observing Li Xiangsi from head to toe. Unlike her sexy outfit from that dinner, today she was dressed very conservatively—a silk white blouse, a black suit, her long hair loosely styled, and even wearing a pair of black tortoiseshell glasses.

She looked very… office-like.

Confusion spread in Yin Tianyu’s heart.

It seemed Li Xiangsi could see through her thoughts, her pink lips curling into a smile that was half amusement, half curiosity, just as the phone on the desk suddenly rang.

Li Xiangsi walked over to answer it.

Yin Tianyu was taken aback, listening to her communicate fluently in English. The other party seemed to be dissatisfied with some contract terms, and Li Xiangsi patiently explained and reassured them one by one.

No wonder her brother chose her as his special assistant; her work capability was indeed unquestionable.

This rival was formidable.

With both appearance and substance, what could she possibly use to compete with her?

Yin Tianyu thought bitterly as she picked up her coffee and sipped it, lowering her gaze.

The only thing she possessed was her identity as a daughter of the Yin family. If that was the only tool she had to keep her husband, then she would use it without any guilt.

She didn’t want to lose Bai Chen; she couldn’t afford to lose him…

“A few days ago, I heard you on a radio show.”

A hoarse voice pulled Yin Tianyu back from her drifting thoughts. She lifted her gaze to meet Li Xiangsi’s radiant eyes.

“I really envy you and your husband!” Li Xiangsi said, settling into an armchair across from her, a sweet smile gracing her face. “Representative Lu takes such good care of you; you must feel very happy.”

She would indeed be very happy, if it weren’t for someone disrupting it.

Yin Tianyu smiled faintly, but inwardly, she pondered Li Xiangsi’s intent with these words.

It couldn’t be a simple expression of goodwill; she must be hinting at something.

“I’ve worked in the industry for many years and have followed several bosses. Men, as long as they have money and power, are bound to stray, keeping a few mistresses and hiding them away. There are really very few men like Representative Lu who are so devoted to family.”

Was this sarcasm? Or another form of intimidation?

Yin Tianyu discreetly pinched her palm, finding it increasingly difficult to maintain her smiling facade.

“Bai Chen… is indeed very devoted to his family and considerate of me. I’m lucky to be married to him.”

“He’s also very lucky to have married you! President Yin told me that there were enough men chasing you to fill a truck.”

That was because she was the daughter of the Yin family.
